  3. there is public weighbridge in botany just near the oil tanks when you driving along foreshore drive AWAY from the airport. go up over that bridge where the tanks are on your right and then as you come down there is a left turn and big sign saying public weighbridge plenty easy access I got my 7.5m trailer in there to be weighted
  4. nup, look at spec sheet only about 12 amp peak on startup then dies back to 6 or something...the HID system much better than halogen..and LED use no power at all but will not have as much reach I installed myself and the remote joystick very easy sits in dash console
  5. these are the spotlights that the coppers requested on all their new noosacats built they from the US can get them here pretty cheap tho I have the GOlight HID Stryker model that much better than halogen with no bulb to blow and beam reaches 1.5 km! There plenty LED models also and most remote controled http://www.golight.com/products/stryker_hid.html
  6. i built a new boat at 36 and was very lucky and able to build a custom 2300 noosacat at 140k just at end of 2012.... its debt free which makes it not for such a bad mindset sitting in my yard and I dont have that hanging over my head so i can enjoy it in freedom but you will get both schools of thought here and they both right about what you could do better with your money but this is the best quote above "Owning your own boat is a lifestyle decision - not a financial decision." If u dont own property and have to borrow the 75k I would think this is bad bad at your age. if u sell it in future of course u will lose some money but not at all most of it remember it will come back if you ever really needed it If you can afford new then there is no surprise left by someone else and u can keep the boat in immaculate condition from the beginning yourself knowing inside out which is important to me and piece of mind 70km offshore you cannot put a price on As long as you know and understand that you can spend the money and the upkeep knowing that you have it for a reason and enjoy it every time u can instead of worrying over what it cost u Time goes so fast we here for a good time not a long time
  7. I agree with fab1 test process I run 80-85 psi in my special 13 inch tyres under my 3 Ton noosacat with them rated to 95 psi under full load
  8. Should be heading out from botany tmrw Call sign x538 Optimus
  9. If in doubt trust BOM I usually find WillyWeather and BOM agree and sea breeze off Remember BOM has both inshore and offshore forecast which can be very different
  10. of course definitey make sure it set to 50 htz though and not the 200 htz u use in shallower water just button switch frequency. It could take 30 secs to pic up bottom once you change the setting and on deepwater mode this easy at browns like pic below
  11. I have b164 with a hds10 and can read crisp bottom in 600m and can still read bottom up to 1000m
  12. yeah that pic looks same see...remember the fish are half rotten already
  13. I think they nannygai that have decomposed to lose their colour Look at shape of head and mouth and imagine it bright red
  14. Don't get excited and put fancy stainless steel ones up against your aluminium now or watch the metals dissolve away
  15. I was out next to him at browns on Wed too and got 2 good blue eye like this.... water was only about 20.3/ 20.5 at Browns very blue but 22 inside the shelf where there were hundreds of birds working a school of something small I couldnt keep up to even get remotely close too
  16. that will just be the 600 w but make sure same as my first post up top you have done on settings. ..50 htz being critical In the settings config installation menu from front menu screen option ( think it is maybe number 2 installation or something in list) make sure you have your correct model tranny selected too, if the dealer did not bother to do that. there i a listing in there to pick your one so it knows how to get best result. You will get wrong temp if wrong tranny selected
  17. u will be perfectly clear and sharp with 1kw...some people even pick up with the std 600w tranny make sure u have set on 50 htz not the 200 htz that u use in shallower water and make sure set on deep water mode not shallow mode maybe if u have been previously inside heads or something or u correct it will not read bottom as settings will be wrong
  18. could always buy a sheet of gal mesh in fencing section at bunnings and just cut down with angle grinder easily. that will hold your weight easily since only a narrow strip with support. wont be as good as say a walkway grid on some professional pedestrian walkway or something but will also only weigh nothing for you
  19. damn...how amazing it that! was that all for the day for you guys?... that you found and heard of on radio?
  20. I am wondering too if any good reports to head out tmrw?
  21. i might be out tmrw from Botany whats your call sign to share info i be on 21 X538 Optimus
