  1. heard on radio this arvo 7mil nth of browns in 300 fthms up to 70kg
  2. have to get boat OFF trailer...weigh the trailer.($30).. get certificate...then get blue slip ( which also verify the weigh certificate)...then go to RTA to lodge everything and get new plates to put on....then put boat back on trailer...done! bit of hassle but one time deal...botany is good place to do the full circuit. I had to do this when had my NEW built boat /trailer delivered from QLD last year, although it was heavy vehicle cause weighs 3T all up.... got boat delivered to Botany on a truck and then launched it tied it up and left a mate there then went to public weighbridge there then did inspections at Botany( a few around there blue slip places) then RTA at botany too... then came back and picked up boat. I was never registered to begin with tho...in your case you only have to change but they treat cross borders as equivalent from inspection point of view
  3. no its mainly the port control tighter than starboard...not that they both in general tighter. port motor GRADUALLY slips down RPM also if not resting hand on it
  4. Hi there guys... planning on loosening the adjustment screws in the control box as the tension is a bit tight on putting down accelerator to my twin Yammie 150s... Before I do this...can these screws be undone too much and fall out? I dont want to adjust beyond point of return and have the cable become undone or something? cheers
  5. another option for you fellas... Bit cheaper at least http://www.purpleline.com.au/video-seago2.php
  6. Fellas this is your other fancy powerful option http://www.campertrolley.com.au/ but like the aussie wheel they cost $$$
  7. yep about 30cm -40cm dropper loop on 60lb trace slip knot onto blackmagic KL Hooks ...the fish hook themselves in corner of lip everytime
  8. yeah big snapper leads to ensure dragging bottom cause 10kt wind still pushed my heavy boat in reasonable speed drift just on normal patenoster rigs. there were 3 of us but bag limit is 20 per person... i cant imagine what on earth you would need that much for if they good sized ones!
  9. that was some old blokes there at Roseville ramp with Tailor
  10. Plenty of Fat flatties can be found in 60-65 metres almost straight out from Sydney Heads on Sunday caught on both yellowtail fillets/tuna strips and squid strips
  11. the little tractor above from Geoff is called an "aussie wheel" from company in WA called traveller industries.... run by an old retired engineer makes them himself very very well made. I had one for my old smaler boat to push it around the yard which weighted about 1.1T and it DID pull it up an incline grass too. I opted for the tractor tread rough tyres and the AW2 model . All ratings are on their website. max pulling power is AW3 with 24v battery up to 3.5T on level ground! They have amazing torque and weigh alot the unit itself. I initially had same problem as Geoff say with tilting in towball till I found best way to get the plate much tigher under towball then no more tilting under load... I also found tho that the more down weight u can get on the unit the better. i literally stood on top of it while using it to add my downweight. Never ever slips on concrete or driveay so long as u have downweight. Cans lip on grass because it rips grass up when I will trying to pull up incline. so i just put a plank of wood down undrerneath it and it ran up that instead
  12. well make sure u get 1kw transducer not the standard 600w...will make big difference whatever head unit anyway...but the tranny will be 3 times more expensive too!
  13. think u will find u have choice of 1 from 1 only that is compatible....navionics... I have the platinum+ on my HDS 10 gen 2 and it works great. the maps are far better than the std crap they come loaded with and are 3 dimensional also
  14. "The tube mats are forever getting crap caught in them like scales and fish smuck along with sinkers and hooks. I also found it tends to slip" Thats also the reason I didnt got the tube matting route ( they use this stuff in barcrushers too)... endless crap stuck underneath it falling thru gaps and needing to lift it if you want to lift out all the time then maybe not problem for you either
  15. if u want to use loosa mat see if u can get colour you want in a bit thicker than the 3mm and it will sit fine under tis own weight without any chance of slip under weight...plenty other designs there in the brochure that much thicker i didnt have to worry about permanent as I cant ift my solid floor anyways with sealed air chambers underneath
  16. true bit more expensive than carpet but best money I ever spent when u see finished product and use it. I will never go back to carpet again. 1 year down and still looks new, just soap and broom scrub and hose out dry in 20 mins and not slippery when wet easy to lay down so long as you quick with their supplied 2 part glue
  17. this is the 3mm granite nome...best I think. They will send you sample pieces about 8 inch squares so you can see before you buy if you call them. careful with all the different patterns as some use a bigger rubber grain so then there can be small crevices where fish crap could build up.. this on is one up from smallest so there is bit extra grip too...the smallest fine grain i think may be too slippery dont get black...or bbq plate in summer I used the 2 part expoxy glue they can supply, its not that expensive... only watch out is that it sets REAL REAL fast once you add the catalyst so you have to work very quick or in small sections or you be screwed
  18. REGUPOL all the way... comes in rolls like carpet in many colours and patters. they will ship anywhere from sydney check their website out, I have mine glued down permanntly tho in cut out pattern so I have the thin one 3mm nome I love it could never go back now to anything else no slip and so so easy to clean no damage by fuel either
  19. I tow my 3T noosacat with my Ford ranger very easily... sensabrakes on trailer better than car brakes and can stop whole rig together with just override button in sinch if needed to I always drive slowly tho, never in rush and self imposed speed limit 75-80 Key to me tho is I use a weight Distribution hitch like caravaners use. takes me literally 30 secs to hook on after I spent the 1 hr on the first day getting ball heights and spring bar angles all best to tow level before bolting up I dont use it to lift weight off back of car as I do not have sagging issue it is to take ability away to pitch and bounce car Car does not pitch move bounce anything it feels the same as if nothing on back and is key to my stability on road... best 750 bucks I ever spent
  20. swim bladder popping out like when the deep ooglies come up from down deep past shelf at browns
  21. did not weigh it but guessing about 7-8KG...it was 91cm and super fat....fillets off it 2 inches thick and fed 4 people nearly 3 dinners
  22. Went out Sunday to chase some kings on reefs...no luck there but caught 10 big tasty bugger jackets rather then losing all my gear to them at least.. then came back to wreck a few kms off botany heads and cleaned up this fella on live yakka in about 80 metres hence the swim bladder popping out... My first jew to boot so I was stoked !
  23. "The bait was flighty and spread out but we worked our Scent Blazers into the dark without as much as a strike, maybe the water pushing up the hill has something to do with it, or is it this big Eddie off Sydney? " Correct... there is a large upwelling sitting about 70km offshore from Wollongong swirling the current running downhill clockwise around it and then pushing back uphill past Sydney coast in closer See pic attached!
  24. I use Salt-X SX50...similar product but did alot of research to think it rated better...will ship to your door in few days too in small or BIG container...just check their website. I have 12 V pump in back of ute and wash off trailer brakes and wheel /axles quickly after launch so not sitting there all day chemically bonding to steel ( as it does) works a treat and my trailer still looks brand new
