  1. Guess what Gary they on YOUR Outrigger poles also performed amazing from Day 1 Now video HERE BOYS not bad for an iphone, no time to explain to my mate how to use the Gopro. Raw video a lot sharper than before it uploaded unfortunately https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOj4F1NeseQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUnmkJzmYeM&feature=youtu.be
  2. nice one Mark! Heard the wahoo excitement on the radio early on
  3. We headed out on Saturday with good intel from Friday of good numbers of fish off Sydney... We were busy fluffing getting some livies in the harbour for dollies later in the day while we hear all sorts of reports on radio of early hookups and action out on the shelf with early morning tide change.. So we headed out to only find 23 degrees all way to 12 mile where we dropped lures in and headed for shelf expecting to find the break as we crossed over....no sooner had we started crossing shelf water rose sharply to 24,5 and 5 mins later the short rigger goes screaming...15 secs later hooks are spat and the small black proceed to taunt us free jumping around the boat instead! so we pushed on until we found some trap floats and stopped for some dollie action. found hoards of 85-90 models so grabbed a heap in quick time then headed off again 1 hr later long rigger goes screaming and we think this one has stuck and start clearing lines, 30 secs later spat and another lost black. 20mins later big fish surfaces behind long corner and swipes but no hook up we headed north as I thought there would be better water up there and as we travelled on shelf we ran along off long reef where we found 25 and about 500 dolphins schooling and looked like smashing bait.... we worked the area for zero tho Turned and headed back south then about hr later the same lure on short rigger as strike 1 got smashed with fish leaping clear of water then diving back down onto it like a dolphin jumping in a wave.... This one stuck and we knew this was much better fish...by the time the deck scramble to clear lines was done I could start to see the spool and we were in real trouble with about 800-850m line out but then the fish stopped and we were able to get a bit of line back before crisis. Half hr later we had the beautiful black boat side where he gave my mate a huge rodeo ride once he grabbed the bill, lucky he 6ft/4 with gorilla arms so now they even longer Went 2.35m short lenth and about 120-125kg by my chart so ended up a great day Water is good in close now boys, bugger weather has turned on us again now!
  4. There is already another topic on this recently REGUPOL best stuff out there
  5. was 22.8 on shelf at 12 mile it was about 22.3 yesterday but there is some warmer water out wider spinning in hopefully after this typhoon passes
  6. Guys for those of you that have been waiting for the dollies to arrive in Sydney, they are here These under some floating crap on shelf yesterday along with kings mixed in up to 80cm Lollipop size yakka Live bait was best but took pilchards too
  7. Noosacat 2300 running twin 150 yam 4 strokes on 4 blade props hits 82km
  8. Sounds like someone sold u a dud Maps are coded by region on those cards So what u want is the think it's called xl3 east sth Australia region Look on their website u can see how they break the geography into blocks and u buy the region u need
  9. Plenty flatties in. 60m line off Sydney fellas
  10. Why are u assuming coming from bait tank? I have had a new boat leak thru the motor bolt holes that were not sealed properly When out on water laid down under back deck and watched till I saw the source of drip building the water there
  11. there is a cover plate over it that I have removed there u can see in second picture....cant retract anything its goes 2 ways between 2 motors on a Noosacat so there is a piston each side of that centre unit
  12. Hi there perhaps this is for Huey or anyone else in know See pics attached of my hydraulic steering in between the motors Does this mean I should be smearing grease over the shiny piston rods you can see? Or is there a hidden grease nipple somewhere under the steel bracket? Cheers Matt
  13. BIG baits Don't be shy or stingy Their mouths are huge and they aggressive and greedy as hell Big squid or half squid and big slices of some sort tuna on same hook
  14. while the tuna are quiet hit the mountain boys Horse size gemfish plague proportions, only 4 seconds to hookup from finshing dropping line. Are some good size Blue eye there as well if you can get your baits past the Gemmies then pray to the fish gods you dont get done by a Mako on the way up which are also crazy there at moment
  15. Second that , and Garry brilliant customising Got both riggers and shotgun pole all in carbon Super light and stiff with no ripping lures out
  16. It's been broken down and gone out to about 20 people already Nothing wasted
  17. Was on 24 Running 8 kg drag most of fight on hookup it was like I was in free spool Only pushed it up to about 11kg near end if fight cause we just could not move it But I was worried about pulling the hook if only lightly in Was double 10/s in the big lumo tho so I was hoping both had a hold
  18. Well what a day yesterday turned out to be... we had a targetted area from studying SST charts and didnt it produce... We trolled for most of the day with only a stripey to show for it then late arvo we hit the mark and got a double hook up off both riggers at once. With the spools emptying faster than we could hope to clear the lines the first fish cut across the long shotgun line and snipped the main line when it turned so we lost it and I cant believe it saying this but we were HAPPY we lost it Second fish then put accelerator on more while we cleared deck. Settled into fight and we thought we had lost it when it turned and swimmed at boat very quickly and made a large belly of loose line. We had the fish on the surface after about an hour but 20m from boat and then it decided it was not done or it didnt like the look of Peter G driving and down it went again We had the double and trace up on the rod 12 times and kept losing it. Finally after 2 hours and darkness setting in we got it close enough for a gaff shot and PeterG hit the mark. I then dumping rod and trying to get a second gaff in the tail to get tail rope on resulted in a very pissed off fish and 2 broken gaffs and almost me too...then the tail rope was on finally.... no way we could get over the high sides of my boat so it went round to come in back walkway between the motors on my noosacat....then it woke up again and started smashing the back the boat up with now only the tail rope on and me and Peter G connected tug of war on the other end.... We a 123 we pulled it up the slip way smashing my boat, bending the steel ladder with it tail whacks and then on the deck beating me up and almost breaking my shin bone and it was cheers all round!! Fish went 1.64 short fork length and 75kg then the long run home from 70km out in darkness Fish taken on a lumo skirt in 1000m in 20.6-20.8 degrees, study your SST charts boys it was not a random location Special thanks to PeterG skilled driving you can see in the pic with 98 circles avoiding the constant attempts to go under our motors, would not have got it without you mate! And special thanks to 35R buddy you know what for! My jumbo tuna chiller bag didnt barely cut it either
  19. you can see in the pic here, the catch and because I 3m damn high up in the air on the nose of boat on trailer there is a ladder built down front of trailer. so when i solo launch and retrieve i use this both ways easily
  20. Could not survive without my boat catch Have a 3 t Noosacat which I regularly launch and retrieve solo all in blink of an eye I have big size unit As said above if u don't drive your boat on and off there is no point having it My release line just sits on cleat on side of cabin once motors running pop the pin drop the line in water and reverse off ... Super good Then coming home just drive straight on Feet never go in water ever
