  1. Berkley Nanofil.. Amazing

  2. Yeah down-rig anything and always use a rubber band. If your trolling live bait fish, rig an elastic band through the eye of the fish and attach it to the hook. Gets your live bait swimming better and keeps alive forever. Also inshore I use 6lb. 10lb for outside.
  3. After a new 8# fly rod

  4. Yeah Lockwood, poor journalism on his part.
  5. Salt. I am an Okuma guy through and through. never had problems with any of their stuff and the lifetime warranty makes it more and more attractive. I have heard of people blowing up their gear. But I haven't had such problems. I can't justify spending big bucks on a fly reel considering how little work it does, so the Herios looks like a good option.
  6. Just been trolling some of the overseas tackle shops and came across some of the Okuma fly reels. I am a big fan of Okuma but have never seen them in Australia. The Okuma Helios looks the best. While the Okuma SLV doesn't look too bad either. Just wondering if anyone has seen or used them and any feedback?
  7. Just wondering if anyone read David Lockwood's article in todays paper about Buddhist's buying Barra from restaurants and releasing them into Sydney Harbour. Apparently there has been sightings of Barra in the Harbour and they recently found Barra floating in Pyrmont. If somebody knows who is doing this can they tell them to release them into Manly Lagoon or Manly Dam where they might actually survive.
  8. Try small shrimp imitiation lures. Or just burley up and bread and see if you can temp any rises. You will have to fight off the ducks and geese
  9. I know its full of carp and yes I think you can fish there
  10. Doesn't really show how big it is, but before this photo I had taken a 5kg chunk out of it for bait
  11. Don't Okuma have a life time warranty?
  12. Also this will really help.
  13. Did you get yours next to the Super Tank by any chance. I got one there too. I think the fish bombs are better. I would then paint yours. You can pretty much use the downrigger as a lure.
  14. not a bad price. Did u go to the boat show and ask around
  15. Not really the season for kings at the moment. Just depends if you are shore based or on a boat. Try fishing the reefs and washes for snapper after a storm or big swell.
  16. yeah it was awesome. The week before I found 4 Albatross eating a 50kg+ dead cuttlefish. So its all happening in the harbour
  17. remember the old saying. "You ain't got not run, you ain't got no fun" been heaps of salmon on the surface maybe have a look at that as an option
  18. Yeah we got further up the harbour on fly. It was a nice calm day for the fly, looks even better next week
  19. Chewie, I think it was you I was talking to. I was in the Quintrex Freedom Sport How did you end up? We found some bigger schools of Salmon up at the Opera House. So hard to catch though
  20. Headed out to fish for some Salmon today at North Head. First cast got 2kg Salmon and then this happened.

  22. I'd say horse mackrel aka Cow n Young
  23. I'm not sure of brands, but I prefer trailers that have a carpeted bottom rather than rollers. They are easier on maintaining, are a so much easier to load yourself.
  24. Yeah I planned on fishing the salt water, but my mate who has the offshore boat can't get there, so guess I will take my boat up and fish for the bass.
