  1. Going for hairtail wednesday night if anyone wants to join

  2. should i brave the wind tomorrow

  3. ^^ Yeah not this time of year though. One option is to fish the rocks at North Bondi. Hit it with a 20g Halco Twisty and you should pick something up. Salmon and tailor have been around. Whiting fishing off Bondi in summer is amazing it's just soo hard to get cast in with all the sufers and swimmers.
  4. Think I found a school of Silver Biddy. Do you think they would be good live bait for Jews?
  5. I have been fishing exclusively with vibes for probably the last month. And I get out weekly. I reported last week that I out fished a mate 15 fish to 2. I had vibe he had soft plastics. So give the vibe a go. Every single strike bar one has been from leaving the vibe on the bottom for almost 20sec and when I lift up, I'm on!! This has been the case with the flatties and the bream. From what I can tell they are attracted by the vibrations, but because water temp is so cold and so shut down they don't strike until they have ample opportunity. I would try the Daiwa Gemakijin Vibes but there is also one out from Pure Fishing, which is a Soft Plastic Vibe. I haven't got my hands on one yet but they look perfect for estuary fishing. In terms of leader, I have been fishing 10lb but have had to replace mine when I get flattie strikes. I would fish 15-20lb if you are specifically fishing for flatties.
  6. Yeah I can imagine that doesn't run well with them. But I know bait and tackle shops are selling yabbies pumped from the Lane Cove and Parra river.
  7. Never knew that. If I ever copped a fine I would be spewing. How was I suppose to know stuff like this.
  8. Yeah I was hoping to get out this weekend, but looks rubbish. Biggest flattie I have got was 50cm but that was 4 weeks ago. All the ones I got on friday were 50cm. Yeah both sides of the bridge
  9. Do u fish the lane cove often? My boat is two/tone 4.1m tinny. Its white on the bow and steel colour on the stern.
  10. There are heaps of places. Best to go upstream of the Bridge at low tide, pull your boat up on one of the mud/sand banks and pump away.. Be careful not to take any with eggs, as they are breeding at the moment,
  11. Went out on the Lane Cove yesterday with the thought of chasing some spawning bass. But that didn't work at all. Couldn't find anything schooling up on the fishfinder so decided to have a flick around for some Bream and flatties and try out the new daiwa Gekkabijin. Tides weren't ideal but we were just out there for a bit of fun. Started off well on the flats with one nice flattie. Moved down towards the fresh and picked up a small bream. Tried for bass with no success, then moved back to figtree bridge where we picked up 3 more flatties. Then pumped a few yabbies and then it became a whiting a cast. Think we picked up 15. All just under legal though. We also picked up this guy? Is this a herring Gekkabijin Review: I was a little hesitant to buy one of these initially, simply because of cost. $20 is a little extreme for an estuary lure. BUt after yesterday I'll be buying a few more. I fished with the Vibe, while my mate used sliders, and gulps. I landed 5 on the vibe, while he only managed the one flattie on a slider. The vibe was amazing but it was very interesting to note, that every hook up I got was on the drop. I had almost let the rod go slack and bang, I was on with the first wind of the handle. Didn't even need to strike. I did miss one or two, while the slider missed heaps. All in all a great lure however does fall apart once you land it in the tree. Here is the bream.
  12. Yeah already did that. This motor is jinxed
  13. Took it out all day today. No promblemos till I got to the boat ramp and some douche had thrown lines in and I couldn't see them. Wrapped round the prop and stalled the motor.. Had to remove the prop and melt the line off..
  14. Anyone ever fished the Buladelah Bass BAsh?

  15. Ok, so I finally got the motor back. Was promised latest Wednesday morning. I got it Thursday lunch time after numerous calls and emails with no reply. Really not impressed. Anyway they reckon it was a one off, but there was heaps of damage. They reckon they have never seen anything like this before. Anyway I reckon the motor could be a lemon and I wouldn't be surprised if it happens again.
  16. Where'd you get that. I got one a Balmoral 2 weeks ago
  17. Well haven't heard anything on it yet. I was promised it would be ready by Wednesday. I am super annoyed. Serious lack of communication by the dealer. Tomorrow I get angry.
  18. There was actually a FishingDVD put out in 2005/2006 about using Ice Jigs at Lake St Clair. Look it up on their website. Seemed to work a treat there
  19. The supers are more powerful than the americans arent they?
  20. yeah i was really happy with its performance untill now. Pushes a 4.1m punt around with two 100kg blokes very easily. And I travel from Drummoyne boat ramp to middle harbour most trips, so its a big hit out..
