  1. Correct. These boats are designed accordingly. Rated to 2 x 50hp or 1 x 70hp. It's a little weird but performs perfectly.
  2. As slowly as my 2 stroke will allow. Which is about 2 knots
  3. Downtofish, The lively lures 4" Mack bait get a good wrap. I'm yet to try one but will make sure I do. Do you have a fav colour?
  4. Cheers Scratchie! Already plotting the plan for next trip...
  5. Cheers Rockett1985. What did you find was the best method for the Bonnie's? we got our Bonnito on an x-rap 15.
  6. Hi DownToFish, The Bonnie's are great to catch and one of my favourite to eat, i find they are more likely to take the hard bodies trolled at a faster pass (5-7 knots) as opposed to dead/live baits slow trolled at 2 knots... Do you find the same?.
  7. Hi Taksa, No we didn't hit the artificial and 62cm was the biggest. Would love a few big ones but more than happy to catch 60cm types all day. They would have to be my favourite fish to catch.
  8. Cheers Oziodin! Hi Mick 54, the double hook-up were the first fish caught for the day and were taken on live yakkas (we only had 3 yakkas and they were gone within the first 10 minutes). The other kings were caught on Cali squid slow trolling with size 10 ball sinkers (after I snagged my downrigger bomb and lost it...). The Bonito was caught on a Rapala X-Rap 15.
  9. Hi Raiders, Headed just outside the Sydney Heads this morning with my mate Josh (AKA Devil Ray). We were on the hunt for Kingfish and had a good day out catching 6 Kings and 1 Bonito. Here is a clip showing some of the results. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
  10. Raiders, Just has a cracking 2 week holiday on the Central Coast with my family. Got out for a fish ocasionaly and just wanted to share some results with you. In summary the video includes snippets from 3 separate sessions and covers captures of Jewfish, Kingfish and Flathead. Hope you enjoy it. Cheers, Dean
  11. Nice result Scratchie, I too am becoming a fan of bass and the calm fresh water we chase them in. Ill be heading out on the Nepean next weekend for sure. Is there a particular lure that's working we'll for you? I'm picking up mostly small bass from where I am fishing. Not sure if I need to change locations of just persist and hope some bigger ones take my lure? Any thoughts/suggestions?
  12. Scratchie, Ill say the megabass Siglett or the heddon Torpedo. In my short bass fishing experience I have found it's more about the "cast and wait". What I mean by that is... the best advice I have been given is to cast the surface lure then wait until the ring dissipates then start to work the lure. More often than not if bass are there that will hit within the first few seconds of the lure landing on the surface. Good luck
  13. Gatts, Any chance you could suggest a location for catching the live mullet? Cheers
  14. Thanks for a good day out Big Guy. Your 65cm flatty was solid but not as good as your PB Flatty in the attached pic
  15. Lofty, Here is a post that includes a couple of lures that have worked well. http://www.fishraider.com.au/Invision/index.php?showtopic=71394&hl= Cheers.
  16. 00rota, x2 re squid in the Hawkesbury and Broken Bay Area. Im keen to know where they hide other than the north end of the Palm Beach headland which I find very hit and miss ... i have access to both land based and a boat. Cheers
  17. Cheers guys, Diesel, thanks for the tip re the gate key. Spoke to council and going to sort one out for sure.
  18. Raiders, I went for a quick fish on the Nepean River after work today. Put the boat in around 6.30 and caught a few bass during 2 hour session. The Brother In-Law got me 5-3 on the scoreboard. Again i used a Megabass Siglett and he was using a Heddon Torpedo. Here is a youtube clip with some of the results. Cheers, Dean
  19. Yeah apparently night time is a good time to chase them. I haven't as yet but will give it a crack soon. Handy having a key...is that something you can apply to council to get?
  20. Thanks Diesel, Do you leave trebles on your fat dogs or do you change them. I find I get a lot of weed with the divers?
  21. JewieMan, Absolutely worth the 40min drive. If its not your preferred fish to target maybe head out on a day where te conditions don't suite the saltwater?
  22. JewieMan, how far is the drive? I typically fish saltwater but I have to say the surface action when bass fishing is hard to beat. It was a little quiet today but when they are on its great fun.
  23. Raiders, I went for a quick fish on the Nepean River this morning and caught a few Bass which was great. Put the boat in at 5.30am and headed upto the Erskine Creek area. Used a Megabass Siglett which did the job. Here is a youtube clip with the results. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDfnpbZNYWQ Cheers, Dean
  24. Cheers AGP, Yes, I can get the plastics down at the change. Only issue there is that the bite goes quiet on the change. I hear it all the time that the Jews etc come on at the change but I have fished this spot about 20 times I've the last 12 months and there is to much proof to suggest the change is the worst time to fish this particular spot. I have heard charter guys in the area use sayings like "no run no fun" an in this case I would have to agree.
