  1. There was a thread on here a week or 2 ago that went into different methods of rigging live bait and had diagrams on how to rigg with a bait needle.
  2. The high number of view and the small number of reply's most likely relates to people looking at your post thinking it is a report.
  3. Here is a few marks for you: JB Marks
  4. TCD is a good option. There is also sections of the fish river about 30 min from TCD as a back up if you are having no luck there. Although the fish river may be closed at rhis time of year for spawning season?
  5. Looks like you are killing them down there Nick! Pretty good effort considering you have never fished there before
  6. I know the cat fish you speak of. I have caught them 300m from the mouth of Burrill Lake. Bastards of things
  7. Great opportunity to get into SP's. No more pickers stealing your bait! Would be worth flicking a vibe
  8. Rob From Fishing Australia did a house boat / Fishing feature on the Clyde a couple of years ago. Showed him hooking in to a Jew. may be worth tracking the footage down via their website or You Tube etc if you have the time
  9. Given the distance you are towing then I think Burnsy has hit the nail on the head. 3T towing rated means you are looking at a late model 4x4 Diesel ute or a wagon variant eg, Land Cruiser,Patrol etc9 Going back to the Forester Diesel scenario, They come in a 2LTR with a Manual transmission only with a max tow rating of 1600kg. The other side of the coin is could you sell the boat and buy an alloy boat to save you having to change vehicles?
  10. buying an Automatic Forester will get around your clutch issues if that is an issue. Have you thought about just buying a vehicle purely to launch and retrieve the boat for 3 - 4k? If you wanted to spend less and the ramps you launch at would allow you to get away with a 2wd, you can buy a VS Commodore for $1000. They had 2 different tow bar options from the factory. Light Duty 1200KG bar and then a HD 1600 / 2100KG tow bar. For the HD towing package to jump from 1600 to 2100 was simply the inclusion of a transmission cooler.
  11. With your budget, In my opinion I would suggest you look at some thing like a Brooker 410 Fisherman. you should be able to buy a package around 2005 possibly newer with a 30HP 2 stroke with your budget. it is a good open boat with quite hide sides for it's size that will get you a km or so outside in swells 1m or less. Whilst it might be ideal to get a large boat for heading outside, The investment gets a lot larger and generally you end up with an old boat that needs a bomb sunk into to keep it going, trailer falling apart, old motor having issues etc. Also with the smaller boat it's easier enough launch the boat your self, easier to tow and store and on the whole you are more likely to use it. This is what i have found in my experience. If you have not done so yet get out to a few dealers and take a look at what you get for your money with your own eyes. You will be surprised at how expensive boats are.
  12. Speaking of the Carbon Tax, my father is an Auto Elec who also specialises in Air Con, He found out from his supplier of the refridgeration gas that his gas price was going to increase from $350 to near $1000. Most of the competition has already started rising the prices up around the $500 mark. Reminds me of Howards campaign for the top job promising there would be no GST introduction... K Rudd for PM...
  13. 1994 Model, Easy enough (also makes a lot less noise) to flush the motor in a large bucket / bin. If that's not convenient, you can buy an adapter to flush the motor from a hose. If you are not very familiar with outboards, I would recommend you get the motor looked over and whilst there there get the plugs, impeller and the oil changed in the leg. That way you know where you are at with the motor.
  14. I live in Ulladulla and ventured to Nowra today in search of materials I can use to tie my own snapper snatchers. Tried the tackle shops with no luck. Ventured into spotlight searching for some thing that would work. Could not find any thing in there. Can any body point mr in a direction where I can buy some Krystal flash or similar on the cheap?
  15. Is the house yours or are you renting?
  16. This was what I was talking about: My link
  17. Motorised jockey wheel. About $300. A quick search of an online auction should bring them up.
  18. Another thought, What about one of those cheap Chinese Quad bikes with a tow ball affixed? Have you enough room on the flat surface in your garage for a quad to hook up to the trailer?
  19. Hey Nick, I am a Ulladulla local and remember seeing a few reports of kings off the Moruya heads. I just uprgaded to a 4.8 meter Clark to hit some of the inshore reefs. Will let you know what I find
  20. Thanks for the heads up mate. Just upgraded to a 4.8m Clark to hit some of the insure reefs. When are you coming back down next?
