Headed out with a couple of 'never been fishing' friends yesterday to Chipping Norton for a quick fish. We where fishing from the Lansvale side of the lake where there are 2 small rock walls beside a small beach. They were bait soaking with prawns and pilchards while i was giving plastics a go. We started at around 2 oclock and fished till around 3.30 with not a bite until one of my friends started calling out to me saying somethings nibbling on his bait, immediatley, bang, the rod bends , my friend lifts the rod, and its all gone, the whole day remained quiet till we left at around 5 oclock when we passed a group of fishos heading down to the same spot, they asked us if we caught anything and so we told them its was about as quiet as nothing you would of heard before, so then after hearing that, they too left and didnt bother heading down there , and as they were walking away i heard them talking about heading down to wollongong now and seeing if any tailor where around. Anyway, thats about it, nothing exept for that scare that my friend is still blabbering on about, we will be back there again on friday and maybe on the weekend to see if i can get my hands on a tailor at wollongong as well . I went yesterday with some of my fishing friends and manage to get lots and lots of bargains. -28 metal lures, all diferent styles and sizes all for 8 bucks -25 packs or aerostar softeez and drug shad plastics all for 10 bucks -145 jigs heads all different sizes 15 bucks -aerostar vb3000 baitcaster 5 bucks -shimano technium baitcaster rod to go with the reel 13 bucks -couple of tackle boxes around 2 bucks each -5 packs starlo and bushy squidgys for about 15 bucks and about 50 other items all at dirt cheap prices. I went on the last day when everyone wanted to quicky sell all there stuff I cant wait till the boat show cause my friends dad is buying a boat and itll be out on the water probably every weekend

Many of the reports have been from around the Cooks river area, mostly near where the river itself meets botany bay, so, if my memory serves me correct, there is a breakwall at the entrance of the river, so you can try there or anywhere along the cooks, check out some of the other posts on botany and see what you can find. Also, maybe Bare islnd might give you something, although the only thing ive caught there are leather jackets by day and bream by night.

The fishing and outdoors expo is on this weekend and there will be a few boat displays on so you might wanna head up there and see if you can grab a bargain,also the sydney international boat show '06 will be held august 3-8 so theres something else to look at. My friends dad is looking for a boat also and he's keeping an eye out for a good deal at these 2 shows,and once he gets the boat, no more land based for me and my friends . Yeh i know, Lansvale sports club at canley vale, wierd ,but yeah,anyway thanks for the help guys. I might try calling up the club and see if i can get any more info.

Just yesterday while checking out the local newspapers i came across an ad that was for the Lansvale united sports club, it didnt really bother me cause im not really a sporty person ( ) . So i decided to see what they have anyway, i was scrolling my eyes down the list of sports they had until BANG!! ..............what other than the word 'fishing'. Well, my half yearly exams are over ( ) and i can take abit of a rest now. So i guees theres only one thing to do then....... . Me and my friends havent been fishing in a while (5 weeks ) so we might head out to Botany bay somewhere tomorow, or if my mum doesnt let, Chipping Norton OR if weather doesnt permit, my friends place and we'll make some fishing lures .

Botany Bay is my main spot but my other spot is the Spit Bridge, since i only fish land based (no boat ) I do live near Chipping norton so sometimes when i take some friends at school fishing, this is my main resort. The boat will come soon enough !

Damn, it must of been big then if it took ALL your gear , what did it take btw , nothing too expensive i hope

Nice work there with the catches,i was thinkin about going with some friends to the spit for some land based action this weekend, but im not sure if the weather will permit

dazzassj6 - http://www.maritime.nsw.gov.au/docs/botanybay_front.pdf thats the map of botany bay, now look or the first bridge that leads into georges river, thats he captain cook bridge. Now look for 'rocky point' near that, there is a small round black dot, which is where the pontoon is located, on top of it you can also see a small picnic table. Just remeber its not on the 'taren point' side. Hope that helps, if it doesnt, maybe someone on the forums might be able to guide you. johblow - ahhhhhhhh......ummmmmm........are you still hungry..... maraudingmado - as for anzac day, we couldnt go cause the weather was really bad that day, we were gonna head up to cottage point and fish around there (maybe try and hook up on a jew),but, there is always a next time, a couple of weeks into school, im going with my parents and another family to mudgee, and i heard theres good there at Windamere Dam, so i have to ask my mum about that.
