  4. hey abitfishy, how'd you go in mollineux point? did u go there?
  5. ok Abitfishy, well the thing is i totally recommend you to fish at mollinuex point offshore in a boat, and not inshore, because wen i went there for the first time it almost scared me wen i looked down the cliff that you gotta climb down which is like at 75 degrees, you gotta climb down these big big boulders, and if you slip, then you're dead. Trust me its not worth dying for some fishes. LOL so i moved to near yara bay, where the boulders wasnt as big and it was climbable. Anywayz even yara bay rockwall fishing was not good enough, as there was too many rocks and weeds, the hooks and lures gets snagged. I almost lost my set of gang hooks =p and a metal lure lol. hope this helps, but if anyone can explain how they can fish inshore at mollinuex point without climbing down that cliff then please tell me thankyou
  6. lmao i dunno if i should eat it now, as i didnt kill it wen i got it, it died by itself and changed color, wow i shouldve killed it earlier. I quite dissapointed for keeping this fish. By the way, wat marketing virus? there is no virus on the photos, even if there was, it was uploaded onto a 3rd party server so it would of removed any of the virus. I just clicked on the link but no pop ups or virus =p heres a pic of the fish turned blue
  7. ok this is scary, i left the wrasse in my esky in the water for a few hours, i just went back to see it, it was dead and its body color turned blue, im scared now... looks toxic. lol i think im tramatized by this.
  8. sighz.... ok i went to san souci's wharf and started there only one nibble and the other guys next to me only caught undersized breams. Ok so i moved out to mollineux point at 9am not knowing how it is like there. Wen i realised that it was the steepest rock wall i've seen i moved near yara bay. There i tried the sea weed bed, there was a couple of small fishes, no luck on my gang hook as it kept sticking onto the rocks an seaweed. So moved a bit out, and tried the rocks there, so i threw some burley in, then caught some strange i think unedible fish, caught a small crab on my metal lure, and that was it. I couldnt even cast my bait out cuz there was so many rocks and sea weed. so had to find a little spot, and use a running sinker rig with some burley and prawns >_< ok i wasted 6 hours of my life catching nothing! heres some photos, someone please tell me if this fish is edible or not and the name of it thankyou
  9. they are yabbies, you can dig them up with a pump at places like Dolls point, but thats the only place i know.
  10. hmm cool, i bought those burley bucket pellets today 1kg for $5.80, ahwellz thanks for the advice. Im gonna go Mollineux point tomro anyone going? gonna be there around 7am
  11. hey guys im gonan go fishing tomro and i need to buy some burley at *****, they sell the pellet ones and the ones that is like a mixture of meat and other stuff. The pellet one floats, but im not sure if a running sinker rig will work wif pellet ones, or is pellet ones only for float rig? cuz i dont have the float stuff. hope you guys can help me out, cuz im still not sure which type of burley i should get, im gonna use it at mollineux point at botany bay on Saturday =p so yeh thankz in advance!
  12. I fish at botany bay too, but i suspect the fishes will be all depleated soon maybe next 10years no more fishes around, especially near the 3rd runway and mollineux point LOL since everyone fishes there >_<
  13. thats great fun, wow! well im gonna go there next saturday, but ive neva been there before so yeh hoping i'll catch that king you almost caught. haha
  14. Hey raiders, fishing report at Rottnest island ok this was back in january, i went to perth and then went wif my uncle to go to this place called Rottnest Island, it was like fishing paradise lol. Its 30mins ride on boat from Perth. After riding our push bikes for 1 hour we finally reach our first fising spots. The place was full of rocks and ledges, but in the water it was full of fish. All kinds of fishes and stuff. This was my first time fishiing and i caugh tthis weird fish, i dont know wat it is called but i heard it eats sea weed. Anywayz I was standing on top of one of the rocks and i saw a quick flash of some fishes down there hiding in the rocks, so i dropped my ganged pilchard, caught the fish in sight! lol best feeling ever. [see photo] Yeh so then we moved on to another fishing area after 30mins riding, went to this better place. I caught two snooks, 4 breams, 1 squid, and some other unknown things. Yeh for some reason everytime i caught a bream and i pulled it up and jsut wen i am about to go grab the line, the fish shakes off the hook and falls back into the water. It happened to me 3 times. LOL yeh then we saw a school of buffalo fish just 2 metres down the water but it didnt bite, then all of a sudden a sting ray came out, but it prob didnt wanna eat cuz it came right up to the surface eating some sea weed. =p wat fish is this? anyone know?
  15. wat is a good place to catch crabs in sydney? i also wanted to know =p, i enjoy catching crabs more than fishing lol, u know how i catch it? with my bare hands and i chase them, they are so fast sometimes. i reakon trapping isnt as fun as freehand style although i got pinched by this medium sized crab cuz i thought it wouldnt hurt cuz it was small lol, luckily i had gloves on
  16. hey raiders! omg i got something to share with you guys lol this is so funny Fishing at night haha the guy in the boat is getting hit by hundreds of fish to his head and his like getting bashed up lol, watch it is hilarious!
  17. Wen fireline is used on rocks and rough surfaces doenst it just rough out the line? but does it actually do any damage to it? or does this only happen to mono if it gets damaged? well anywayz i've been using fireline and it only loses a bit of its color, not that much of a deal anyway, oh yeh about how many times does it take to make the fireline less stiff ? mines still fairly stiff.
  18. Hey Fishraiders ok i just did a little experiment testing which hooks are likely to break and how they break. I recently used a size 2 mustad long shank and wen i was fishing the hook bent outwards and the fish got away. So i tested both hooks from penn and mustad to see. Ok i started off with bending the mustad hook, it bent all the way till it was straight with no problem at all as it was 'easier' to bend, it sorta bent like a paperclip lol im not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, well anywayz i tried the Penn Long shank size 4 hooks its roughly the same size but just a bit smaller than the mustad ones, but anywayz wen i was bending the penn hook it was very hard to bend and all of a sudden it snapped before i even had it bend. So i can say the Penn hook is very brittle(it can shatter wen bent) however it is a much harder much to bend. This all means it proves wat mustad to have advertised of having "hi-carbon steel", however i dont think Penn has enough carbon in its hooks than the other. Im not sure if this is a good thing or not about the Penn hooks, can someone tell me which one is better after reading this? thankz
  19. thankz alot swordfisherman! but how do you rig the handcaster? do i need a swivel ? cuz wen i bought it, it came with the sinker on top of the hook. Thats easier to cast but wouldnt that make fishes avoid the bait cuz the sinker is right on top of the hook?
  20. 0o0o0 cool! im just wondering does all those landbase anglers fish at the end of that road? but is there any parking space there? im so fasinated to go there lol. My friend told me he fishes at the entrance of that road, he told me he goes pass this gate that says "trespassers will be prosecuted" sign and fishes there ahahhaha does anyone from here go there too?
  21. hey raiders, Well does anyone know how to use a handcaster and how should i rig it? cuz i cant get the handcaster to cast very far lol wat is it even used for? I also dont know how to take the line back in, cuz i see people just pulling the line in instead of winding it and im not sure how. Oh btw this is fishing from a wharf [OFFTOPIC] i just watched this bush tucker guy on chn 7 on world around us showing how he made a handcaster and made some lures with some simple stuff like red cloth, white plastic bag, some orange strings even a bulletshell! haha and he caught a massive trevally and other fishes with all that junk, i'll try that next time thankz in advance =p
  22. good job, hmm hope tomroo wont rain so i could go botany and try there again
  23. hey you mentioned about the pontoon near the bridge? where is that? i cant find it anywhere, is that near captain's cook bridge? cuz i was there
