About 5 months, but i likemore fishing end of winter, becouse not have so cold anymore.

Short report with pics. This is our family last icefishing trip, done end of April. Vili catch many roach´s and redfin´s. Hi allso practise put maggots on hook self, and allso releace fishs. This last trip was nice, beautifull weather, lot of bites, and catches, nice sausages on campfire. Veikka allso practice ice fishing, but with out hook. Now we only waite openwater fishing. Exactly we have been allready couple of times with Vili, shore fishing. Now only have to make some boat service, and then we are raydy for redfins, zanders and pikes.

Hi mates. Too longtime havent visit again. I promise, soon i made short report my last icefishing trip, and maby some old report allso. Have to made this topic all ready, then i only need go to fishing. BUT. This topic i made every my this summer Perch, Zander and Pike fishing reports. SP fishing is nice. Did try virst time 2009 in Australia, but start it in Finland 2011. After that i have been 95% only with SP on summer. It is so easy, no bait worms or bait fishs looking, cheaper lose SP's that hard bodys, and you can fishing every deep levels, and main think, you can fishing really accuracy and you can fishin on bottom.

I have some memory, that 2g head to 1 m water. So if you fishin 10m deep, use 20g head. But... many times little "over light" head fishing better, becouse slide is longer on water. Anf ofcource depens if it any stream/rapid. I use on river 5-8m deep water 10-17g head. About hook size: Before i did use hook size 1/0 -2/0 to 2.5"-4.5" softplastic. Then i did stupid mistake, i did buy lot of 3/0-6/0 heads. No good, hook is so strong, that you cant pulling back if is stuck to some logg or rock, and you proken line everytime. 1/0 and 2/0 hooks it little softer, and you can pull hook little bit straight, save you softplastic, fixed hook with plyer and continue fishing. If i need bigger/longer hook, i "double hooked", but i never buy anymore over 2/0 hooks for zanders and perch. For pike i can still use max 6/0 hooks.

Oh, nice. I didnt know that leatherjacket live in Lake Illawara? I have been there once, we caught several flatties, no big but lot of happening. Allso we catch blue swimmers. Really nice fishing, lot of sand bottom on that lake. ( Iwant back there!!)

I will missed this year allso, but some day...............

I am not sure what Donna wright before, mut my opinion is, that have to give something to peoples hows is vistors but not menbers. Becouse, if you not give anything how they explore this site and Fishraider community if they cant see anything? Give something to them, and Maybe they Upcoming members, and get more "services" when members.

Great news. Now is time for "big finnish smile" no, now is time for HUGE finnish smile . I did not understand even half, i understand only, that FISHRAIDER go to future. I dont care if it some fees, i can come there and bring my payments, main thing is that "FISHRAIDERS still rising to challenge". I read better later with google translaters. This have to selebrate, i dont know yet how, but i want sponsored some prize for some competition. Look what we find, but something finnish product for FISHRAIDER.

Maby my last icefishing report to here, but i continue writing to "bloody end", like finnish soldiers on winterwar 1939. Today, nice day on lake. My first perchs on this winter. No many, no big, but even something. Veikka practice allso, but without lure. Vili and Veikka allso driving on snowmobile with Saija`s dad. After fishing we did skeen trip with Saija 6.5km.

Sad, wery sad, but i understand, it take lot of time moderating ext. I maby go out of fishraider (like everybody else), but FISHRAIDER AU never go out of me. I cry, i really cry, cant say nothing, but heve spend great moments with you all on this site, and some of you spend great moments on Australia, and with Stu and Donna in Finland allso. Still hope, that anyone of you, if you some day come in Finland, let6 me know, and maby we can go fishing together. This Morning, after my night shift we go to skiing. Me, Saija, Saijas dad, Vili, Veikka and Pikidog. Was really nice weather, only -4`c, no wind, and slippery route. Views was nice allso, big river and descending fog. Have to say, that I am quite proud of Vili. Hi is only 5y old, but made skiing record today 7km . When i was 5y old, i skiing only 200m and crying for too long trip.

Mostly i fishing Perch, red fin perch. Sometimes catch pike, and usually catch allso roachs, sometimes small common breams. Some peoples focus icefishing only pikes, other focus zanders, and many focus allso fishing burbots. I have been thinking many years try catch some bigger pike under ice, but haven try yet. My icefishing perch record is only 200g, mut my cousins have catch severals o1ver 1kg. So i try again go fishing with them on this winter for couple of days. I try take some pictures my icefishing gears and lures and share with you on this forum. Edit: Exactly i try make short video with my bad english speaking about icefishing, if i learn edit video, or even load video on site or to youtube

It is not so cold now, i dont iceFishing if is colder that -15`c. That day when we went was only -8`c when we start and -10`when we stop fishing. When we skiing was -15`c, but early this week was many days -26`c between -31`c. Btw, finally my winter fishfinder is it allmoster ready. Have planning make it 2 yaers allready. Today i made this carry "thing" on in esky box, and made isolation for battery. Only need build some sonar "adaptor" for fishing hole.
