Good stuff Jim.Next time let us know what the salinity of the water was as your report was lacking info and I want to know.
Just kidding mate.Excellent report, details and nice fish to boot.

Fair point - not sure I’d want to fight a big offshore fish on a no name egg beater. At the same time you don’t need a $1000 mag sealed, diamond encrusted Shimano to catch whiting on the flats.
And then you have Yowie that out fishes most of us with handlines. Hope your knee gets better mate.

Hi Fab1,
If the tails start getting bitten off the plastics then generally tailor and then I switch to a halco twisty or similar lure with a hook on the tail end.
Generally when I'm fishing off a wharf and the plastics start getting nibbled as they get in close it is usually small leather jackets (Sydney Piranha).
To a degree you can get around this with some bite resistant plastics such as Z-mans but the downsides is they are often a pain to rig perfectly and they do not play well with other plastics as there seems to be a chemical reaction.
Since I started fishing with plastics and lures I generally found the size/quality of the fish I was catching to be better. You usually avoid hooking up on the pickers and skip up to the predatory sized fish. Not always the case but it is one of the reasons I've stuck with it and don't see myself stopping either.
Regards,
Derek
Will take it all on board.Cheers mate.

I'm still running the original 9yr old battery running motor, sounder, nav lights, and interior lights.I wonder how much longer it will last?🤔 I'll wait to see and try out the pull start.

You ought to chop up your plastics first. The fish prefer small chunks.
Will do.I'll throw handfuls out every few minutes to berley them up.

Here is what you can watch when the wife is not around. Usually it is eagles, this season - a duck 😁. The cam is in Sydney.
Prefer the birds on the beach thanks.

Just looking at the picture, there's a set of lights there, you can see the pedestrian button, best guess is, he stopped, and when he took off, the boat just slid off, nice and smooth, doesn't explain how though, winch, safety chain, tie downs, any one of those should have prevented it.
My guess is 4 things were missing.Winch hook, safety chain, tiedowns and the one thing that could have found these 3 things to put on......a BRAIN!!!!
Yes you can forget the winch hook, safety chain or straps....but all 3? Come on.

Yes I am sure they have gone and communicated back to NRMA etc, but there are lots of articles on the web that have not been updated that still refer to the end of the moratorium.
I just got off the phone with RMS Maritime ..... I was advised to lodge a formal written complaint on their website as this backflip in rules should not have happened without prior communication. I'm $400 out of pocket... so I am chasing answers and accountability.

Cheers Zoran
You won't need life jackets for a while mate.Don't hold your breath getting reimbursed in any way by them clowns.
I could have kept mine and saved $170 I didn't need to spend also as plenty of other people would be in the same boat.I've always wanted manual inflate jackets so I'm not fussed as I'm glad i have them now.
Good luck mate.
Intrested to hear the outcome.

was @REELCRAZY and I, the only ones that went fishing yesterday?
Looks like it as I've been waiting for reports and other than your two it isn't happening.Either that or they are shy and don't want to share their magnificent catches.

I wouldn't recommend bird watching to any guy that is dating or married.
Years ago I was watching birds(They were lovely) in my own little world when all of a sudden I felt whack!! across the face.
When i came to my senses i remembered I was standing on the beach with the mrs I was dating and must have fallen into a trance watching the birds.🤣😂

I guess to be fair, sometimes we do silly things (well I do) a few years ago I was fooling around with my winch, I had it all unhooked and got distracted, then started doing something else, luckily when I was hooking the boat up I noticed the shackle dangling down!
There's a difference between silly things and not hearing/seeing/feeling the boat come off the trailer though and driving for 20 min to realise you haven't got a boat on anymore.I wonder how far the person drives before they realise they haven't got a brain?

Some people are complete idiots. The other day I saw a clown driving with a 6m length of 90mm pvc pipe sticking out of his drivers side window while he was driving out from the hardware onto Newbridge road. This was at Bunnings crossroads.I'd hate to see how he carries timber lengths to build a pergola.

Must have had the radio pumping.... nevertheless what a twat- even if winch rope snapped what about the strap and safety chain???
hard to comprehend how this stuff happens?

The scary thing is we share the roads and waterways with these morons.

Come fishing with me if you want to catch puffer fish. The secret I use is I target table fish and catch puffer fish. It's got me thinking I'll target puffer fish from now on for table fish.🤔 My berley attracts puffer fish too I find.
If you want to catch tiny fish my secret is come fishing with me too.😂🤣😁
Sorry I can't help with trapping puffer fish unfortunately.Good luck doing what others have mentioned.

There's good and bad in all sale points. Back in the day all my advertised sales was through Trading post, wish they were still active. Now I do a lot of buying/selling via Ebay but the last sale cost me 1/4 of the sale price with charges so no big items now.
Frank
Trading post is still around. It's just gone online now.

This bloke doesn't want to talk on the phone cause he has some sort of ear damage caused by his flight to WA , he claims now that he is there for his sons wedding and won't be home till March.
At least email doesn't cost me anything, another scammer is using text and it costs me 55 cents every time I reply to his text.
I was expecting several lowballers to make ridiculous offers but didn't expect so many scammers.
the add is only 5 hours old and already have 3 different scammers.
No offers yet.
Frank
I'm bored.I'm going to put my boat up for sale really cheap and have some fun with them.🤣😂
