  1. And the biggest tip of all KNOW HOW TO SWIM!!!And be a STRONG Swimmer. We all know many of the people are foreigners that rock fish and don't even know how to perform a swim stroke let alone get out of trouble when the time arises.

Sadly this sort of thing will only get worse with the population increase unless authorities find a way for a full lockout on rock fishing which will never happen.

Passing my condolences to family and friends of those who perished.

  2. What a fantastic idea mate!!!! 3. I just want to catch a 2 kilo fish Z.Bugger the sinkers for now.😂

Someone was saying to make sure you keep the moulds hot at all times.

Bring them to my work and I'll ensure they stay warm for your pour.

We have pretty good respirators here too. Some Helmuts worth 3k.It's weird no one complains it's cold here and when it's 40 deg Celsius outside no one bats an eyelid.🤣😂

    Love your work Z.

Ive been out last few days, granted its during the week, launched from Drummoyne, its been good, parking available around midday, even today, beautiful afternoon, only a few trailers parked, but the weekend approaches and its going to be hot and sunny, plus Aussie day coming up, I expect ramps to be packed and boats everywhere...

Good to hear.I went out last night around 7pm and it was great!!

We want to go down to Nowra or Windang soon during day and probably get there around 8-9 unfortunately.Hopefully it's ok.

Top write up mate... glad you got out... and that the Permatrim has done the job !

    Happy for ya.

Now for some fish ... if only @Yowie started using SP's you might have a chance ...

    Cheers Zoran

I went stealth over to Yowies and drilled a few holes in his hull to slow him down.Sick of that Bzztard taking all the fish.😂🤣

  6. I thought bugger it last night and headed out with the family.

Got to the ramp just after 7pm to find one guy coming out and another going in come behind me.I let them launch while we loaded my boat.

We headed to around grays point and anchored just off the main channel while we sorted our bait, rods, etc.

We fished there for around 30 min using prawns, salted pillys and squid getting fish straight away close in to the rocks.Small snapper to just under legal and a fishing trip isn't a fishing trip without me catching a puffer fish.

Time to up anchor and head straight to moored boats at the deep water around lilli pilli.

Driving out in the open water crossing the bay it was really blowing and the water was rough.

I can attest that permatrim I put on  is a beauty and she no longer squats in the bum with a big bum sitting in the middle of the rear bench.

The 3 of us are over 100kg each.I'm 125 on my own.I did 44km/h flat knackers through that wind, chop and rough water as per GPS running a 30 poverty pack Yammy on my 420 quinny.Don't know if that's good or bad.

We fished for just over an hour around the lilli pilly area for 2 bust offs, more small snapper lust under legal and many real small ones.Out of the trip the only legal fish caught was by my son on squid which we decided to release to give Yowie a chance to get a feed for once.🤣😊😂😂

As usual I'm just thankful we are all healthy and get to get out every now and then as a family as we always enjoy each other's company and have a great laugh like when my son caught a snapper about 4cm long last night. His long shank hook was longer.😂🤣

Thanks for reading the saga and yes we are hopeless fishos.

yeah, gets a bit like that, but it wasn't anywhere near BOAT cost ( Bring On Another Thousand ) .... safety is paramount for me ... I also went for the fitted foam filled type, given they last well over 10yrs and I have storage space on the boat.  It's probs the least expensive boat investment.

Honestly to get compliant is not that expensive,  at present the 3 letter store beginning with boating has the yellow foam filled block type priced at 2 for $30. I chucked 4 of those into the under bunk storage - that covers 4 adults of any size if required (and if not used its additional hull floatation 🤣)

To get compliant and comfortable, is a bit more pricey but not that much. The other 3 letter store beginning with road, had these for $59.99. But these need to be fitted so I ended up with 2 Small, 2 Medium, 2 Large for my family....

That fitted plus the yellow brick ones  covers every combination of crew I could think of.

I've gone out from Rose Bay on a Sunday a few times and the Rangers are red hot .... which is great as if it wasn't for them enforcing the area it would be impossible to get a park.

And still people push the limits, but I've seen them constantly get booked.

Some would call it revenue raising.

I don't care, do what he sign says and you won't get booked.

People like that should be dragged straight to the gallows.😂😂😂😂

  9. Nice rig mate.Don't get disheartened with idiots offering you peanuts for it like they always seem to do.If you wait long enough the right buyer will come along offering you a fair price to both parties.

I,'ve been offered 3.5k to 5k for my boat over the years.I've still got it.

I went out today, got to Drummoyne at midday, mostly cars taking up boat spots, bastards....but when I got back at 3pm, only 3 spots taken, with trailers, the cars vanished!

Slash their tyres.🤣😂😂Don't do that.Key their car instead.😂🤣What sort of imbecile thinks that the boat and trailer spots were put there for cars to park there.

Same as the crowds of dropkicks that think fishing from boat ramps, pontoons, jetties is ok and they were put in for them.

I approached and tell them to move and am coming in wether they like it or not. They soon move and once I had to run over an idiots line.

Once my son waited until we were driving away and told me a couple of them were whinging amongst themselves that they had to move.

I have 0 tolerance for imbeciles both on the water and on the road but respect and am nice to every one.Until I get annoyed.

I use to live in a townhouse with 7 garages in a U shape form.If someone parked in front of their garage the opposite person couldn't get their car out.

Guess what?My neighbour dopey Fred use to park me in and I couldn't get out to go to work in the morning.I told him a couple of times and he kept doing it.

I came out in the early morning to go to work and found his car blocking me again. I got my car jack and jacked his car up under the diff and rolled it down the street and put it in sideways inbetween two trees that I had previously sussed out.

Let's just say Dopey fred didn't park me in any more.

Did I mention I have 0 tolerance for imbeciles but am a fantastic, lovely guy?🤣😂😂Enjoy your fishing mate.

You must be one of those 9-5 workers then Fab??

I work all sorts of shifts sometimes having to start as early as 4.30am & sometimes having to start as late at 3pm.

So my way of thinking is if I have to get up at 3.30am for work then it's even easier to get up at a similar hour to do something I actually enjoy 😁

    5pm-5am.I ain't getting up at 5am.2😂😂😂😂Is a 9-5 job even a job?😂🤣😂😂😂

Isn't that part of the fishing experience.... going to sleep early to try get a good rest for the 4am wakeup but never really getting a good sleep, then trying to pack the boat without smacking things too loudly into the hull and waking everyone ?

all the times i been to foreshore ramp i aim for 5am start and have never had a problems and its not too busy. only one time i did go to the five dock ramp it was 5am and it was a nightmare.

You won't get me up at 5am to meet the queen let alone go fishing. But I must say it would be the best time.

I was up Shoalbay this week, Sunday was insane at Shoal Bay ramp.

i pulled up to remove my straps and launch, all in about 10mins, when I went to park the trailer, there was a man standing in a parking spot who said he was minding it for his mate, who was still trying to launch his stuck 19ft F/glass, so I moved on and there was a 10yr old kid who said he was minding the spot for his Mum, who had gone home to get their boat. So they were not even at the ramp.WTF?

I parked my trailer at home and walked back down and the poor kid was still standing with his dog waiting, must have been there for over 30mins. Which pissed me off as two boats arrived and retrieved, so I could have parked in that spot and his mum could have taken one of those spots.

Then in the afternoon I backed my trailer into the water, went to get my boat from the beach and as I was driving my boat over another boat had came in and nearly drove onto my trailer?

Then he beaches it on lane 2 of the concrete ramp and gets out to go get his trailer,  his mate gets out and stands on the ramp trying to hold his boat from smashing into my trailer, the alloy boat was getting bumped and pushed into the ramp, hitting the concrete beam on the edge multiple times.

I drove my boat on secured it and as I was driving out the waves pushed the boat almost into mine, so I had to floor it to get my boat out of the way.

So they not only held up the ramp they probably damaged their boat.

Sounds like you had a great time.🙄🙄🙄

There's two parts to a trim unit, the tilt range, and the trim range, the trim range is the first "slow" stage and is for adjusting boat trim when running, the tilt stage is much faster and only for raising the motor out of the water or trailering, the motor is not designed to be operated in the tilt stage. Depending on the model, there can be two sets of rams, two small short ones (trim) and the central long one (tilt) some are integrated into one, two stage ram/valve system.

I know mate.I had tilt/trim on old boats. This one being a 30 doesn't have it and you can't install a genuine Yamaha one as they simply don't exist. I'm not fond of hydraulic tilt/trim or the cms units. What i want to do is use a simpler linear actuator as a tilt and trim unit.

    Thanks for the heads up.
