  1. Thanks for the info, it sure was a famine on Sunday. Cheers Jed.
  2. Cheers for the heads up, will try a different spot next chance I get. Regards Jed.
  3. Headed to Clarkes Point on Sunday with the fam' to do some blackfishing. Fished 2hrs before and after the top of the tide and came up empty handed. I fished on the wall leading up to the old Woolwhich wharf and used plenty of burley but didn't even score a down. There were a few others targeting the blackfish and no one had any luck. As we were setting up 2 kingies were doing the rounds and I don't know if they may have spooked the blackies. Great location but crap weather yesterday and ended up packing it in and heading home for a beer!! Anyways hope others had better results. Cheers Jed.
  4. Thanks all, Will let you know how we go, it'll be good for a picnic at least anyway. Cheers Jed.
  5. Went for a drive on Monday down to Clarkes Point, Hunters Hill, with the kids for a look see as a place to have a fish. Never been there before but am impressed with the space available to have a picnic with the family and have a bash for a blackfish or two!!! Has anyone fished for blackfish there before, I found a pile of burley on the wall near the Woolwhich wharf but no sign of a blackfish angler. Probably caught the high tide in the morning. I've just scored some weed from the boss who walked his local golf course for it this arvo, he called and said it was pretty good and nice and long. I'm going to take the family down there on Sunday as it's supposed to be a top sunny day and I've got a bye for soccer, kill two birds with one stone. Happy fishing . Cheers Jed.

    Blackies

Evening all, A mate and I are keen for a fish for the blackies as the kids soccer has been canned for the weekend due to the rain. Anyone had a fish in the harbour lately???? Scored some weed during the week and need to turn it into a product worth eating!!! Any help much appreciated... Cheers Jed.

    Dead Quiet

Evening, Hawkesbury classic is on over the weekend, hence there would have been a few boats out there last night. Probably poached all the fish from you??? Cheers Jed.
  8. Hi there Baz, Fished behind the Woolies carpark last week for zippo. Found some nice loacal weed near the bridge as well but no luck there either. Best that I have seen is near the caravan park ther last Sunday whene about 5 keen fisho's were waist deep fishing the drop off, with some success to boot!!! The clean water seems to work well at Narrabeen but then local knowledge is always the best bet. Cheers Jed. PS: Fished out of Berowa waters today chasing the blackies in several different spots, again for zippo. Fantastic day weather wise bar the wind that blew in from time to time. Couldn't even nail a bream on the rod hanging out the back.
  9. Peter, What a great result despite the crappy weather!!!!! Ended up having lunch and a few beers with the better half, so not a bad result in the end. Love your work. Cheers Jed.

    Narra Lake

Hey all, Fished Narra Lake today near the woolies carpark, after blackfish. Caught the top of the tide but with no luck, not even a downer. Are you better of landbased in the lake or in a small tinnie so you can get around?? Cheers Jed.
  12. Hi Peter, Went down to Narra lakes today from 11 - 2ish and came up with a big zero. Grabbed some cabbage from Nth Narra, had some fresh and old weed and found some weed near the bridge and failed to get even a down. I fished near the woolies car park on the last of the run in. You got me keen the other day with your 9 fish and I had to give it a go! Oh well, it was nice down there anyway and I was protected from the wind. I might take the tinnie down tomorrow, pending weather, go exploring and try a few different spots. Cheers Jed.
  13. Hi there Peter, Beautiful work with those blackfish, they look in good cond'. I've sussed out the lake awhile ago and am just curious as to whether the fish are caught up the front, (near the beach end) or within the main section of the lake, (the channels)?????? I'm busting to have a fish and nail a blackfish. Can't wait 'till the soccer season ends and I get my weekends back!! The heart always gets going when I see a blackfish report. Again, nice work. Cheers Jed.
  14. Confused, I'll read it several times, and probably still not know where these spots are. Appreciate the info though. Bend in the river hey?? Shouldn't be too hard to find??? Cheers Jed.
  15. Hey Kingpig, Nice work on the blackfish. Nice days to be out relaxing in the boat. Quick question, har far is the moons from the boat ramp. I saw a couple of blokes fishing a couple of months ago at the end of the national park down stream. Is that the moons? Cheers Jed.

    Ice Boxes

G'day all, Has anyone purchased a Techniice ice box of late and what is your opinion of the product??? Any suggestions much appreciated. Cheers Jed.
  18. That's a lovely family photo. Good to see a dory in the pics for a change. Cheers Jed.
  19. Dave, Don't feel so bad about the lack of fish that you caught. I fished down there for the 1st time about 6 weeks ago and although we had some good downs, we bagged zippo, while the guy 10ft away from us bagged 4 in 2hrs.. There must be some special manouvre required when fishing down there, so I'd keep onto Stewy and extract that vital information out of him. Better than working hey, so good luck to you. Cheers Jed.
  20. Stewy, No go on the Jewies hey?? Nice work on the Blackfish though!!! Let you know how we go on Friday down the Georges, hopefully as well as you today. Great weather for a bash anyway. Cheers Jed.

    Help Needed

Hi all, Am planning for a blackfish this Friday and am wondering if anyone knows where I might be able to locate some weed. Will be fishing the Georges river and live in the Windsor area. Your help would be much appreciated. Send us a PM if it's a better option. Cheers Jed.
  22. Smitty, I fished the boardwalk on 2 afternoons last week catching the bottom of the tide, and failed to land even one fish. Had weed from 3 different locations and maybe only scored a couple of half heated downs. On Friday arvo, a couple not 20m's from the end of the boardwalk landed a half dozen in under an hour.Let me tell you that was very frustrating. Good luck to you anyway, I'm going to try and get back there some time this week. Quick question, was the weed local??? Cheers Jed.
  23. Thanks for that, will do! Jed.
  24. Genltlemen you're killing me. After reading this post the other day I was, by a small miracle, able to locate some weed yesterday arvo. Being Windsor based I chucked the old rod and reel, ( and old is Dad made this rod for me when I was 5, now 40, and it's Grandads centre pin reel), in the work van and had a bash this arvo off the boardwalk at Lambeth reserve. Don't know what tides to fish there, as I've never fished the Georges B4, but ended up with nothing, not even a nibble. Burleyed for the 3hrs I fished yet still zippo. Having seen those photos the other day it looked like the river was over flowing with blackfish!!!! I admit that I haven't fished for blackfish for at least 15 years, that's sounds terrible, but I'm keen as mustard again and need to teach the kids this fine art. Does anybody still fish down at Lambeth or hasn't that seen action for a while. And what's the chance of finding out some better locations????? For the desperate man!!! Anyway, always love reading your posts as they keep the fire burning. Here's to good fishing. Cheers Jed.
  25. Good to see the missus working the new outfit!!!!!!
