Jigholio got it, they grow quite large, the one i saw was about 4kg. Kamil
  5. Same bloke using a live Yakka hooked the biggest Flathead he had ever seen and when it surfaced he realised all he hooked was the catfish inside its mouth that it just ate! Kamil
  6. Well done Brett, how big was this Flatty your talking about. Well done on some nice Kings, i thought you would have been fishing! Kamil
  7. Na champ, have from some of the bigger ones, biggest was about 3cm in length. I love Jews, they are great fish. Kamil

    Mystery Fish

Definitely a baby Cobia. Mates have caught them at Woolwich before to 8kg. Kamil
  11. True Tony, im pretty sure that was a 46kg Fin that Chris and Rob got on that 30cm Bream. Crazy stuff! Kamil
  12. My friend im not lying to you, i have fished the Hawkesbury and Sydney off the wharves extensively for two years while i got my boat in 2004 and i can honestly say that in those first two years i got at least 200 fish, fishing once a week for those two years except in winter. Those that know me know i did. I love the fish like many others and they intrigued me to the max. They are a beautiful majestic fish one which many try to catch but some never do. I will agree with you that small fish can be caught using say a Baitrunner action but no way with the bigger fish! All the best in your quests. Kamil
  13. Ive had a mate use a Catfish live and get a 10kg Jew??? Figure that out? Kamil
  14. Whatever works for you champ, my method works extrememly well when i fish for them, out of the few hundred i have got to 32kg in the last 4 years i think i'll stick to my method! Kamil
  15. Steve thats my point exactly if its in its mouth, it is in the place where you want it to be yes? I know they do what you say, but this is only when they are finnicky or think something is not right, out of all the ones i have caught on live bait they see it and smash it! And i have no choice but to be hooked up. Even if its fiddling around with it, if you're hook is sharp and exposed it will grab somewhere in the Jews mouth if you strike. Just have your drag set tight and it will hook up. Kamil

    Jewies

Your gear is fine, any fresh bait is good, make sure it looks natural and you have sharp hooks. Kamil
  17. I would have to disagree with some of the comments here, from my experience i would say use one sharp hook with Livies when fishing off wharves, pinned behind the dorsal fin, as soon as you see a hit or similar, strike, if a fish has picked your bait up why would you not want to strike? Its in its mouth after all? If you are fishing the harbour keep using Yakkas, also the fillets of them work unreal. Set your drag tight. Kamil

  19. You also came back without a Marlin, there were a few around from what i heard! Kamil
  20. Good work guys, glad my boat went ok for you's!!!! Wish i could have come and got a marlin but next time, had too many other things on. Kamil
  21. Very nice King. there is quite a few up there that size. Kamil
  22. I thought that too last year, i think they have declined but i also believed that when i switched from Mono to Braid i got less fish too? They are there but i believe not in numbers like they used to. Too many people fishing for them now. Kamil
  23. This is the best advice you can get, i have been told the other day that squid are colour blind if that helps? Kamil
