  2. Came across this! I have seen one at the main channel at swansea. Need bigger hooks http://m.smh.com.au/environment/conservation/great-white-shark-filmed-swimming-in-lake-macquarie-20141205-120yyj.html
  3. I posted it up here somewhere. I Cant't seem to find it anymore. Something like - shark patrol sydney. They were pulling in 3m bull sharks as kayaks went by haha should of seen their faces!
  4. Yep, youtube and then send the link around! Anyone see that white pointer encounter at lake macquarie? That one looked quite intimidating!
  5. Havent seen or caught a shark that far in but im sure they get around. Watched a doco on bull sharks in sydney harbour and was surprised!
  6. For the $1k mark you can get the Garmin 70Dv. So that has GPS with garmin G2 maps, 10GHz gps antenna, fish finder and down view built in. One transducer. Its a great unit and holds bottom underway. Has all your water temp, speed, conpass bearings on screen. Pretty happy with it. I too was considering the lowrance one and raymarine but i prefered the graphics on this unit. All other units are good too. Personal choice really.
  7. My current pitot tube is not bad for accuracy. When i run the speedo and gps for accuracy the speedo is about 5km/h off
  8. His funeral service is today. I don't play cricket, but learning about Phil's passing certainly made me sad. Hope he is in a better place! R.I.P. #408

Mate if you are that far out, why dont you try west reef? Least you will hook up something for sure. Run a burley trail and oil and use those livies over the reef. Might get a shark Kewells do the job for motion sickness
  11. I don't really see how this helps though? Is this because it is blue and you have like a runway lit up in the water for you to see where you have to line it up?
  12. haha, no I only have one, but I swap boats all the time! Bad habit!
  13. Like this topic! In my cox craft 5.4m rum runner powered by a 140merc V6 2 stroke = 98 km/h Tournament 2000 6.25m, 150 etec = 72km/h Seafarer 5m venus, 115 johnson v4 = 70km/h
  14. If you can get to roseville boat ramp just as easy, then do that I suggest. Depending what fishing you are doing, but crossing the harbour with all the ferry's, ships etc is a pain. I used to launch from Drummoyne all the time until I discovered Roseville. But, just my opinion
  15. In case anyone is interested, just read this today! http://www.bom.gov.au/australia/meteye/

Hey mate, i dont think you will need 100m+. After all these years fishing similar to your style, think i used 50m if that just once, only because i decided to let all the rope go haha. Didnt need to!

  20. Found one, look up SandSpike if anyone is interested
  21. Yea but being a glass boat and heavy I don't like to beach it too much. I like to have the bum in the water.
