Hi Stu make sure that the light dosen't shine on the foredeck a it will take out your night vision so maybe a small remote light mounted to the bow rail so no reflection off the front . when I turn mine on it lights up the whole front deck if I driving from the cabin I cant see anything past the bow rail from the Flybridge I can see the mooring coming hope this helps

you could always fit a electric fuel pump that can have a connection into your main tank so when the main tank gets low just flick a switch and the fuel can be transferred without spills, swims, fires, etc etc
that ramp is always choked up with weed and I have had to tow a f250 2 wheel drive with a 5 - 6 mtr boat on the back out of that ramp. it does have deep water.
And yes we have seen the dolphin around Brissy Waters one of them swam around the bow of my boat for about 20 mins last year amazing
I'd be sending them a very informative letter with the repair bill them share the places name with everyone you see and talk to. One peeved customer will tell more ppl the a happy customer.
Most places that have a listing on godel maps lets you have a rant...........
Good to here on one got hurt
in the old days I had a system on my boat trailer called seabears or similar (too many days out on the boat) witch used a different seal on the back with a hose connected to a one litre bottle filled with automatic transmission fluid. so each time the trailer was submerged the temp difference in the hub would such oil into the hub not water. the bearings lasted the hole time I owned the boat which was in the water at least two to three times a week for about ten years. I sold that boat over twenty years ago ( time flies) hope this helps I don't know if they are still on the market or if anyone has herd of them
Cheers

if you find someone good up there please pass it around. I will need some work done on my covers soon
the last bloke I used on the coast was useless and have noticed that company no longer is around.
And it was good to talk to you two and see your boat in the flesh. it has inspired me
Hi Paikea I went through the same as you free fall or not the big question.......... in the end went with drive up and down as most free falls for my boat needed you to be at the winch to flick the switch to engage the free fall, then had to reengage to lock anchor down (phew to much hard work for me ) so I went for the non free fall version now I don't leave the helm and no mess deploy and retrieval
BTW congrats on the new boat

woke up this morning to find a tree had fallen on both my cars LUCKY only small dings on both PHEW then had panic attack about the pride and joy moored on Brissie waters GULP..... driving down Brissie water drive to see high tide and someones dream smashing against the rocks (poor boat) thinking hope my the old girl is ok then look out at lots of boats with damage to covers bows etc so I drive a bit faster and telling myself DON'T look out any more just drive more boats braking there ties to the moorings that haven't worked today in this weather,to get to see if my boat is still afloat and still attached. and when I turned the corner there she is wagging her butt in the wind still attached PHEW we live another day AND a Big thanks to the SES who came and cut the fallen tree to bits and cleanup after themselves
we Had this problem a few years ago neighbour 2 doors up complained each time our dogs opened there mouths.... very long story but the neighbour had a friend in council.... it seemed he was of work on sickness benefits so we filmed him building a stair case down the side of his property hay presto no more complaints:>.he must of peed of some of the local kids as well as every friday night his garbage was sent down his driveway to crash at the bottom.... what a mess he had to clean up.....KARMA is so sweet...
Putney was great long time ago but I havent used it for a long time . it took me 12mins to harb bridge and about 30mins to heads I did have a 100l fuel tank on board 5.4m half cab with 115hp jono easer to boat than drive by road. So hope this helps
Don't forget that it only takes 40 mins from Gosford to Newcastle. Newcastle house prices are following Sydney at the moment quicker than Central Coast.
I have lived up here for about 12 years and commuted for about 4 of them now We rent a unit above our work and only travel Sunday night and back up Saturdays.
As for the waterways it has nearly all been said above EXCEPT NO Manly Ferrys or many big boats racing past to cause endless chopp .
Woy Woy boat ramp is one of the most popular, excellent ramps average parking to many cars in the trailer parking. One ramp to steer clear of is Tascot as it is very weedy and small.
for us it was the best move

have a look at king starboard and there is another one similar cant remember the name of other one, comes in different thickness I used a 25mm thick peice as a bowsprit for the front of my boat. is white in colour and easy to cut, fit etc looks good as well
My boat is on the Central coast
mooring to buy $700 Block and tackle
Mooring $355 per year for boat over 7m
mooring service about $ 150 per year
Slipping every year or so $2500 with hull polish and prop-speed
dinghy to leave on waters edge $200 "once off as long as it doesn't get stolen"
I have shaft drives which are less problematic than stern drives. IMHO

I get the same around my salt water pump housing sometimes I feel it is from the gasket ( which I've replaced 3years ago) more than the air around the area.I just clean and spray with lnox. the boat is 34 years old and still going strong.
