Don't need crimping pliers, any ol pliers will do the job. All you need is gangs, wire, crimps and a swivel and your set, it's so easy champ.

Don't worry about the tides, the hairtail are always there.

Use both. You can even have another line out with that knottable wire stuff, that's good too. Good luck, when are planning on going out to WB?

Just like Akuna bay, if Akuna is closer to you just keep launching there. It's only 3ks longer from Akuna to WB, than apple tree to WB if that makes sense.

Hey mate, Wattamolla is definitely the go, you can't cast towards the ocean at that spot, if you can then your in the wrong spot and you should get the f$&k out for your own safety! When your on the spot your facing north/northwest, I used to hit it all the time especially after weather like this. It's a safe spot but in your case give it a miss cause you'll prob sh$t yourself with the sound of the waves roaring and smashing over your right shoulder and inexperience of fishing off the rocks. Nothing like fishing off the beach!! Plus you can't break your promise, your family is more important then some trevally and scumbos.

Hi mate, I know what you mean about the bones, I used to think what's the go with this fish the first time I tried them. Then I started to fillet them and what a difference having a boneless fillet is. Then you can cook em however you like they are delicious. The 7 fish weighed in at 13kg gutted and took me 1.5 hours to fillet. Made a soup with some of the bones and that was mad as well. If you want any more info Just let me know.

Coming from Akuna I was past WB in a inlet that was full of yakkas, so I camped there. Good luck on Friday night if you go.

Just got back from a top sesh in Cowan, kept 7 hairtail with the bigger ones going 1.5. Yakkas and pillies did the damage. Better strike rate this time only lost 4! Also I let go a scumbo and about 30 soaps. I was on my pat malone and had a ball with all the action... I'll sleep well tonight.

There's been a few of them caught in the main harbour and north harbour but that's the first I've heard about them in the parramatta river (I'm guessing that's where you were?). That's a special catch especially since you probably weren't even using gangs or wire.... Onya
