  1. Top sesh, well done. You should try slabbing one of those tailor or salmon and lobbing it out there for a Jew. Looks like you need to get a bigger cleaning table
  2. I fished 4 lines Tuesday night, 2 x 30kg mono trace and 2 x wire trace. Both set ups got hammered constantly. But did lose a monster hairy just before it surfaced, he bit thru the mono.
  3. Float with a light stick in it, have it weighted so it's just buoyant, gang hooks with Pillys or whole yakkas. You should go for a drive to illawong bay one night as well and check it out. Hairtail at Walsh bay???? I don't think so but with fishing you never ever know. Good luck
  4. Of course they do, take a drive to illawong bay one night and see for yourself. Why is that interesting anyway???
  5. Got out there last night and got 2 hairies at 1.3 long, and dropped at least 10. They will go on the Barbie tonight at half time. Also released 1 soapie, 4 big greenbacks and a scumbo! Thank you fishergirl for your report it inspired me to get out there! I've got pics of the hairies on my fone and wouldn't have a clue how to upload them. Cheers Mim
  6. That's great news and awesome catch on the hairys. I was going to go for Jew tonight but might have to change my plans now! Mmmm bbq hairtail for origin night... Yum
  7. The best thing for you to do if you really want to catch squid is for 1 sesh just take your squid rod and jigs and just concentrate on squid alone. The whole western shoreline of pittwater hold squid, but if you haven't got the patience just stick to yakkas. Question 2, you don't need a swivel.
  8. No worries about reaching that drop off, its close in. Should get a few flatties there, good luck!
  9. Try clontarf beach with softies, theres a deep drop off that runs along the beach.
  10. Plenty of yakkas in pinta bay around the moorings, and the squid are deep during the day in jew bay.
  11. Thats an awesome catch jim, especially since you did it on the rigger and solo too! RESPECT.
  12. Top effort fellas on a long sesh but there is no way thats in kgs. Any pics of the hairy? Did you get the squid at west head also? Once again ,top sesh!!
  13. Sounds like you should fish up river where its nice and quite.
  14. Nice little schoolie sin, great way to start the new year! Well done
  15. Thats insane wacko well done to you and your crew for that outstanding angling effort, just awesome! Can you tell me what rod did you popper with? And great report also, felt like i was there so i had a few after i read it... Dont know what i'm going to do when i watch the video
  16. :risata: :Funny-Post:
  17. Definitely NOT protected.
  18. I was off north head this morn and the rats were going nuts on the live yaks.
  19. I have put the gummy fillets in the freezer to get rid of the ammonia in them for two weeks, then I will try some beer battered for sure! The salmon was turned into Thai fish cakes which was surprisingly good.
  20. Fished off the northern beachs last night in awesome conditions for 1 tailor, 2 gummies and 6 sambos. Tailor was slabbed and thrown back out so was 1 of the sambos. Kept 1 sambo for fish cakes and kept the gummies as well... yum. No jew runs, but good feed instead!
  21. WOW Awesome dolly ! what lure did the damage?
  22. Yum Yum is right, cooked up a few tonight and wow, they were awesome. This time i filleted all of them, to get rid of all the bones, marinated for a couple of minutes , and then i just flash fried them and man, they were so good! Hows greg doing dan, is he still braining those kings?
  23. Mate, never a waste of time when you go fishing. Illawong bay, near akuna bay in coal and candle creek is probably your best bet land based and the most comfortable for you cause you can virtually watch your light stick from your drivers seat. Just make sure your float is perfectly weighted and i'm fairly certain there are rod holes there as well. Give it a go champ its a mad experience!!
  24. I reckon there are some big ones lurking down deep, the thing is they are very timid and you must be holding the line to feel them mouth the bait, thats why i have left the rods at home and gone with the handlines. The smaller they are, the harder they are hitting the baits. Mate it was a perfect night, only 4 other boats there as well! Glad i work weekends
  25. Went to wb last night and we got 14 hairtail, average size of them was 120cm but the biggest went 150cm which put up a good account of itself on a handline. I was stoked, the last time i got one that big was 5 years ago! All fish were taken on gangs and pillys.
