  3. Gday hammerz, We head up to lake macquarie once or twice a year for holidays and the fishing can be bloody unreal at times There a quite a few jewies im the lake as some members have metioned Pullbah island holds a few good jew just look for the deeper holes on the sounder and fish early morning or late afternoon /night , Kingys are caught in the lake at times, on our way out at christmas time we saw what we thought were tailor busting up around the channel markers at the entrance to the channel which turned out to be a big school of rats , the swansea bridge is renound for big kingys but catching them is another story as most of the time they'll get to the bridge pillons seconds after hooking up. Believe it or not a couple of years ago a few Dolphin fish were caught in the lake also Fisho5

  17. Gday raiders, My first day off at my new job so what better to spend it out on the water Started out around 5.30am this morning and straight out the heads and a short run south to the flattie grounds off bondi, ended up catching wll over 20 flathead with 5 keepers and a few Leatheries. Next stop was the marker buoy a few kms away. Founded it invaded with very tiny kingies and even tinier Dollies, Over the next 4 hours we had a ball catching both species on Pillies, soft plastics and even prawns. Ended up dropping a Raider jig half way down really next expecting to land anything but was stoked when I landed my first keeper dollie of the season just on 61cm ON A JIG!! haha. Headed in towards home where we found a heap of slimies attacking small baitfish just around the inner part of south head was an amazing sight so we ended up stoking up on bait for weekend lol Was a great day to spend a day off even though the weather conditons werent the best but the improved as the day went on. Took a few pics will have them up a bit later on cheers Fisho5

  20. Gday guys posted a similar question in another topic but didnt wanna hijack the thread , has anyone ever had much success getting into a few of the bigger Dollies at the sydney harbour FAD the 8.5 km one in recent years, we fished it pretty H-core the last couple of years and the biggest dollie we managed to pull of it was about 70 cm .. Maybe its a bit close in for the bigger bulls ? cheers in advanced fisho 5
  21. mate, rovex big boss 7500 or the 9500 you can pick them up for around $130 at some stores, one sexy looking reel and a great value i reckon, Ive seen a fishing show in WA where they were jigging for sambos with em fisho 5
  22. Mate start anywhere where you see a bit of a change in water temperature or where bait on the sounder is present, areas like 12 mile or the Plonk hole especially when there are a few fish traps there ,are a good place to begin trolling on your way out to wider grounds like the shelf, browns mountain etc.. or if your heading north off sydney places like Long reef Wide on your way out to the baitstation fisho 5
  23. mate had a bit of luck on kings with the calafornian squid I think its called - comes in the little boxes at some tackle shops, but nothing beats fresh or live squid
