Year round proposition not in numbers like winter but definitely get them year round. Reason why they are seasonal is nobody targets them outside July and August.

By catch of Mulloway in prawn and squid nets is close to zero. The co op only has a few boxes of Mulloway going through there weekly. Beach mesh netting is a major concern for mature Mulloway stock. DPI catch and release information reveals that Mulloway travel long distances and a good and bad season is more dependant on what enters the system per season.

Looks finished bit suspect some beurocratic big noting will take place first with some pretty pics in the local rag.

Water is really warm at the moment 23 degrees in some parts and pushing hard downhill.

I would not even consider putting the boat in unless I head to JB if bluefin are what you after. Yes the odd jellybean is about but not worth the hassel.

Fish Competitions in the Far North Coast, NSW ?

Go to the FCA website and look for affiliated clubs. The competition scene is very competitive but it's the form of fishing for me now. -
There is going to be significant changes coming for both recreational and commercial fishing. The recommendation should not be far away. Us Recreational fishos have the power through numbers I do not fear not having commercial fishing to assist us when push comes to shove politics are about numbers.

Mate I would opp for the 10ft 1 inch mesh net. Get a draw string net over a pocket net as nothing falls out. With my nets I also add weight to the base of the net to assist with sinking speed.

Hey mate well done. I got 2 on the weekend with the bigger going 120cm and 16 kg clean whilst the smaller went 12kg cleaned.at 114cm. Your fish whole probably would have gone somewhere around 14-16 kg whole

Behind the marina is all flats. The eastern shore line leading to the marina will put in you in with a good chance.

Jewfishing is not about time on the water it's more about timing. You left 2 hrs before the top which tells me you left to early. I now chase Jew for half an hour and generally nail them but I target them corresponding to the tide.

Absolutely spot on. Most important factor when fishing the mouth of the Hawkesbury is tide. A run out tide with a north Easter can cause a lot of dramas even with no swell.

Depends what you are chasing when I am chasing tuna I look for low chlorophyll, but when chasing Marlin I prefer high chlorophyll. Tuna seem to dislike dirty water.

I would definitely look at FC Rock. 100 m spool at great quality.

Mate tides this weekend are good, I would steer clear of the vines probably stick to bar point if you want to head up river. My recommendation would be to stick to Cowan, anchor on any point plent of burley very light sinker and 12 pound flourocarbon leader. Burley a must.

Illawong Bay is the go on the bend before the entry into Akuna Bay. You will see people fishing there. Gates are not shut down there.

Awesome stuff guys congratulations, I was only looking at my first fin which was caught in 2004 the feeling of that day came rushing back.

Embarrassing unfortunately no resistance was shown and the lack of fight showed throughout the innings and into there bowling and fielding.
