I live out there and fish that area regularly, but have never heard of this spot. Common names can be generally made up between friends or groups buy may actually be another spot.
I can assure you that you will not find those species at Pittown.
You may find them in small numbers during a drought but the water is completely fresh there at the moment.
Mullet, bass , and eels.
Any point from Gunya through to Box head.
Every Bay and Mooring in Cowan. Plenty of barley and small hooks. If trying to get bait it areas of current use a heavy sinker or alternatively wait for slack water.
Illawong Bay walk the shore line up coal and candle take some berley and you should be in luck. Land base around the bridges is a bad idea to much current. Unless you want to fish an hour either side of the tide change
