  1. Good stuff chappo! Some really nice fish there. Good luck with the Murray cod. Mervs a trooper, loves his fishing and generally comes up here for the tbft. Great pics there! Cheers scratchie!!!
  2. Hey James, congrats on your first legal jew! The smile says it all. Well done Cheers scratchie!!! P.s I rotated the photo for you!
  3. Just seen your trip on a break in the cricket! Gees damo, you put them onto fish. But that snowboard bloke would be better to stick with his field of sport! Lol Good to see them using a quality charter! Cheers scratchie!!!
  4. Congrats stu! Might have to ask you for some info, I think I might head up that way next weekend!
  5. Glass out up here! But you can feel it in the air!
  6. Jim, your views are fine. Debate, personal opinions or discuss are fine, so long as they don't contravene site rules. We do not need to have the "why did you keep a 90cm flatty debate". Cheers scratchie!!!
  7. As you have pointed out, this post is not about general "catch and release" views. This topic will be locked if those views are posted. Scratchie mod team
  8. Not a fishing report so has been moved to the fishing chat section
  9. Great stuff rah. It reminds me of when I used to bring the kids up here fishing when they were young. Nearly all of them caught their first fish off that jetty. Well done Cheers scratchie!!!

  11. Thanks pete. Occasionally I give the boys a day off school to come fishing. It lifts dads status a bit!
  12. Sorry but Everytime I see this topic turn up, I think it says scratchie on graphite rod!
  13. Must be a bit easier than pulling in SBT. What a great haul you've amassed there. 53cm whiting is an absolute horse. Is that king George whiting?? Our whiting up here don't get that big. What were you using for bait and rigs? Cheers scratchie!!!
  14. Lol. I occasionally still wear nappies but I do still use gars for livies chasing long tail and rig them chasing marlin too!
  15. This is a very old post.
  16. Garies ay yowie? You should have titled "yowie gets a billfish" lol. They are great fun to catch and pretty good on the plate too! No fish oil tablets for you this week mate! Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  17. I wouldn't fish or troll just east of the island as it's a sanctuary zone. And as for hiking, I wouldn't know. I couldn't drag myself away from fishing up there to go for a walk!
  18. The island is only 14km from the headland. Camping on broughton is fairly primitive. Yesterday, I used 30lt to travel there and back, moved 6 locations and spent probably 1.5hrs trolling. It just depends how far offshore you want to go once your up there. The other thing to consider is that if your camping up there and the weather turns to shit, there's every chance you'll get stuck there until it improves!
  19. never caught them at PS before especially while trolling. cheers pete! time on the water=fish p.s I love you too yowie! I was a product of the seventies! lol. mate, you could never live here long enough! I don't think I've had a sickie in 20 years. I wanted to get to know the young bloke better, so what a great way to do it! he's not a bad kid, after all he made it back to the ramp thanks mate. 'twas a good day in your boat I'd be choosing PS. a lot of options available to you! thanks jay. mate I'm always taking people out. It's great catching up with fellow raiders or teaching keen young fishos. it's a technique I swear by, try it!
  20. Who's the Beatles? Must have been before my time. Lol No Steve, it's the slogan for our area! I'll post a pic soon! Pretty tacky I know but I like an attractive heading!
  21. Poppers or Sammy's, catching whiting like that is the equivalent to the addicted blackfisho's! Well done! Cheers scratchie!!!
  22. Cheers Nathan. Great, now I've gotta listen to him pester me everyday!
  23. Thanks mate! I'm glad I chose to live here too
  24. Cheers Craig! I was quiet happy. November is probably the worst time of year up here. But add that to the twenty whiting and few flatty I caught yesterday, tonight gunna be a good feed. Let me know when your up here next!
