  1. Good luck boys! Your in safe hands with mike and damo! Hope you bag a few! Cheers scratchie!!!
  2. Bring on the social with all the wicked weather we've had this week, I'm sure we are all looking forward to milder conditions. I think I'll make the most of today's crap weather to rig up some rods and get my gear ready! Looking forward to those cuppas on the mothership!!! Cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Great stuff quochuy! Only a dedicated fisho would head out today and to have some success, well done champ! Cheers scratchie!!!
  4. Yes mate. Salmon on a livie. It did some great acrobatic moves.
  5. Here is my rock platform 2 days ago! And here it is today...... It's been absolutely mesmerising watching the swell from the comforts of my warm lounge room! Cheers Jeff
  6. Well put outdoordan. I think we have all lost sight of what the original post was for. This topic is now locked. Scratchie
  7. Quote: But there is something you can do about catching bottom. Yes......wind up a couple of meters. Read what TC and sydangler have said, I think that best describes what I'm talking about.
  8. Caught my biggest ever jewfish in January. They are a year round fish IMO
  9. W4z, There's no real argument. Just merely providing feedback as to not lose decent fish. If it works, then great but it's not the way I or most people fish. If you can understand when gamefishing the leader needs to be heavier, then the same principals apply. Hope that helps! Cheers scratchie!!!
  10. So what is the point to using lighter leader??? If the strength of your mainline is the purpose of catching a fish rated to that line, why would you reduce the strength at the connected end???
  11. I'm with jewhunter. Never used lighter leader than main line. That is the purpose of a leader. To provide some stretch and strength???? Cheers scratchie!!!

    wind

Kitto, Chris and Tim. You boys go out in any conditions so the wind is nothing to complain about!! Good luck on the tuna boys! Cheers scratchie!!!
  13. Great idea holls. There are different seasons for different fish but there are so many variables. It's more about knowing your area and what you are targeting. So get out there and explore and I look forward to reading your fishing posts. Cheers scratchie!!!
  14. Thanks mate. Have to agree with swordy, your knowledge is spot on!
  15. Looks great. But nothing beats the Sydney harbour bridge! Location, location location! cheers scratchie!!!
  16. My tip when purchasing new gear especially if I'm told it's a bargain, is to quickly google it on my iPhone before making a purchase. It can usually give you a quick reference and help you make an informed decision. Cheers scratchie!!!
  17. Nice catch mate. But I suggest you have a teaspoon of cement and toughen up. It's not that cold and with the hairtail social around the corner, the colder nights are inevitable! Lol Well done boss Cheers scratchie!!!
  18. Well done boys! You are both becoming very consistent fishos and by reading your posts, your knowledge has improved greatly. Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  19. That's a great effort. Nice fish. Should have taken a selfie with it! Lol Cheers scratchie!!!
  20. Unlucky mate, but I think they might be waiting for me at the social. Lol. I think it might be a late season. Cheers scratchie!!!
  21. Drift little America bay, hungry bay and between flint and steel and Juno point. As mentioned hawkesbo prawns work best. Don't be afraid to throw a few SP's either. Cheers scratchie!!!
  22. All I can say is NEW SOUTH WALES, because my throat hurts so much from yelling!!! What a great game and atmosphere. It was awesome to be there and be part of it! Cheers scratchie!!!
  23. My wife is my lucky charm. Everytime she comes I usually catch some big fish. I'm happy for her to get a few for a change!
