  1. Mine either. I'm a big bait fisho. But times evolve and SP's are all the rage. I really don't care what I'm using as long as I'm getting a line wet!
  2. Hey, there's heaps of info in this chat section on rigs etc for jewfish. Do a search and have a read. Absolute wealth of information! If your doing an all nighter, livies are the go! Cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Thanks Ian, I hope so too! I'm out all weekend if the weathers good. So watch this space!
  4. Wow, if that's the old plan B, then I'm coming with you when the weathers good for plan A. Congrats, some nice fish there! Cheers scratchie!!!
  5. Thanks luc, not bad ay! I still use the knot you taught me for trout fishing. Seems to work pretty well, so I'm sticking with it!
  6. Thanks Carl, hope they do! Just love seeing that silver coming up through the water!
  7. Thanks Stan, I have the advantage of a boat and a good spot for Jew! I'll be happy when I beat my record on an SP but not a bad start.
  8. Thanks. Certainly was bigger the one that smoked me. The reel sounded like a rotary engine until it popped. Love that sound!
  9. Thanks Pete. It was a big thrill. Wouldn't say I cracked the code but I understand the strike zone from bait fishing. However, after reading many posts (especially yours) I now work the sp much better and understand that the pause is important to stay in that zone!
  10. It's very similar to the one I have on my Haines hunter! Might be a starting place. Cheers scratchie!!!
  11. To be honest, I was impressed you know how to use a computer, lol. I was waiting for you to tell the story of the bag of broken biscuits costing a half penny! Haha. But in all seriousness there are many elder people that demand respect, and they should always be respected. However they sometimes fail to reciprocate that notion. The only thing I wish is that the old farts would tell me where there good fishing spots are, lol. With respect, Cheers scratchie!!!
  12. Not bad for a quick session!! I'd be happy with that girl in any sesh. Nice soapy too! Cheers scratchie!!!
  13. It all comes down to "Respect" for each other. Age is irrelevant. We all can learn from each other! Cheers scratchie!!!
  14. Hi all, Just a quick report. I've been doing a bit of sp fishing of late and been somewhat successful. The key is definitely patience and persistence. Today I tick off another first with a nice little jewy! I was using a 7inch something with 1/2 jig but only using 6lb line. Think the set up was overkill for 6lb but it worked a treat. Got smoked twice and lost a couple of SP's but the one I got was a great fight and I was pretty excited. Cheers scratchie!!!
  15. Great work Pete! Some really productive sessions there. That last photo of the whiting is a horse. Looks more like a bonefish! I've been working the SP's a lot more lately with mixed results. I'm in a end of season 3 day trip this weekend, fingers crossed weathers good. Great report mate. Cheers scratchie!!!
  16. Good work luc!!! You seem to get a few when you go solo. Diesels up here this weekend that's why he couldn't go! Keep posting and you might temp me to go back up for another flick! Cheers scratchie!!!
  17. You could drive up to wisemans ferry, take car ferry to the other side and follow the hawkesbury down to spencer! Some great spots and very scenic drive as well. Good luck! Cheers scratchie!!!
  18. Wow, that's an awesome haul. Cheers scratchie!!!
  19. There's nothing like a great fight with a trev! They really do punch above their weight. Nice fish! Cheers scratchie!!!
  20. Great work on the fish fellas! Stealing someone's fish is lower than shark shit! Cheers scratchie!!!
  21. Nah, sorry damo! Port stephens for me. But I might be a little bias! Cheers scratchie!!!
  22. That's a solid fish there! Haven't caught a silver beast in a while! Your post has inspired me for this weekend coming! Congrats! Cheers scratchie!!!
  23. No worries. For a beginner, it's an awesome craft and very enjoyable. Easy to load and fish on and great for them weekend away camping trips! Without the major price tag!!! Good luck deciding! Cheers scratchie!!!
  24. Have a look in a recent post called "cheap kayak" Cheers scratchie!!!
