  1. Thanks. When it's clear like that, it's not really good for fishing. But love swimming in it!
  2. No problem simmo! Was great meeting you and carol too! It was a nice day on the water, ashame the big boys didn't come out to play but there was no lack of trying! That's fishing!!! I've taken many a raider out and it's always a pleasure. Great company with the same goal in mind. Till next time, tight lines Cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Thanks Pete! Don't get to excited. I thought it was much easier to throw SP's from a yak than bait up every time. And to be honest I did enjoy it. I must admit, without the feedback from this site especially you, I wouldn't have a clue where to start. But I think I've got the basics now!
  4. Thanks. In the arvo I swapped to nuc chicken and most casts I got a hit. I like this one and have heard they're great on snapper.
  5. I'm trying too! Back to the real world soon. But for now.......awesome
  6. Thanks Noel. Yep very tough. How could you live in paradise and not take advantage of it! Starting to collect gear now, bring the marlin season this year!
  7. Thanks. I'm just starting myself. It's just more about feel and persistence.
  8. Awesome work on the Jews!!! You should have shown stewy and Reggie where to get them. Their report says zero on the Jews. Hmmmm Well done getting a mate his first! Cheers scratchie!!!
  9. Don't won't to hijack, but those kayaks for the online store are magic! I too, just bought one and recommend them as value for money! Dave, great report and its a great way to spend some time one the water. The fish will come, just get used to the yak!!! Cheers scratchie!!!
  10. Lol.... It's not the size. It's the force behind it!!!
  11. Short memory Reggie!!!! What about the social?? Coming over with stewy and fishing with me and nbdshroom! That was a great time. Anyway, good to see you get two over stewy in the one week!! Cheers scratchie!!!
  12. G'day raiders, I've been blessed enough to get the last 3 days to fish the bay. First trip, I took a fellow raider out simmo2 and his partner for a great day on the water. Nothing worth mentioning other than a big ray that took to simmos line. It was as least good to his his rod bent. I managed a few smallish bream on live nippers. But was really wanting that Jew to show up. The next day went for a flick with my mate and christened my new yak and managed a few tailor and a pike a SP's and was pretty excited. Just to prove it was no fluke I hit the water today, and what a gorgeous day it was! Using only SP's again I managed to get myself amongst the fish again. First was an ok size flathead. Now feeling a bit more confident I took my little mate with me. He loved it on the water and was my lucky charm as I then caught a flounder. This is definitely a first for me. Then I changed to a Berkley gulp nuclear chicken which resulted in a whiting, yet another first. All fish were released, ready to fight another day! Rather than take the yak off the car with a wonderful afternoon it was, my wife and I picked the kids up from school and thought we'd give them a go of the yak! Well, within 15mins they had caught all three species I did but on a mixture of bait and SP's So, sitting back here now sipping a quiet ale, watching the boys still out there fishing, I'm thinking what a magic place I live in!! As for fishing with SP's, I'm now convinced they can actually catch fish. So I have to thank nbdshroom for his constant reminder and never wavering persistence that I should try SP fishing. Thanks for reading! Cheers scratchie!!!
  13. Sorry, but sounds like it is. They can't police any of the sanctuary zones or people's catches up here in port stephens in shore. What chance have they got policing browns??? Cheers scratchie!!!
  14. Cheers Pete, Took out a fellow raider today simmo2 and caught about the same on bait! Hmmmm. Must be the name simmo! Lol Cheers scratchie!!!
  15. The yak was great especially for a beginner. The motor was a bit dodgey though! It runs on Jim beam and there was none in sight!!! Cheers scratchie!!!
  16. That's a great story and the breakfast looks great! Is that a holy beer on the table? We all need a refreshment! Cheers scratchie!!!
  17. Just a quick report from the maiden voyage on a kayak I bought last week. Only took it out for an hour, but managed 2 nice size tailor around 30cm and 1 smelly old pike. I used 1/4 jig head and berkley gulp in pumpkin seed. Was a unique experience not taking bait with me at all. At from a yak made it even more special. A great hours entertainment. Sorry, no pics on fish, I didn't want to risk it! Cheers scratchie!!!
  18. Just went for my maiden voyage on the kayak I bought on the post above! Went better than expected and I managed to stay dry!!! It was also the first time I've never taken bait with me. Was throwing SP's on 1/4 jig berkley pumpkin and managed 2 tailor at about 30cm and 1 smelly old pike! Sorry, no pics as I wasn't keen to risk the iPhone. Tight lines all. Cheers scratchie!!!
  19. Awesome Krause! Your certainly doing something right. Cheers scratchie!!!
  20. I agree diamondback! It should all be about conservation and limits. Good luck to the rec fisho/weekend warrior that spends his hard earn on licenses, petrol, bait, electric reel etc and has the ability to fish at browns! Hope he catches what he is looking for, as long as he stays within the limits! Be it on the weekend or not! Cheers scratchie!!!
  21. Nice catch. You can post photos of jewfish not matter what size and I never get sick of seeing them. Rather, it inspires me to get out there! Well done! Cheers scratchie!!!
  22. I just bought this app and love it!!! Layout really easy to use! What a shame it's still blowing 35km+ the efficiency for today is 100%. Cheers scratchie!!! P.s it's $5.49 now
  23. I think you should chase some hairtail? It's been going pretty good by all reports! We send you a pm! Cheers scratchie!!!
  24. Yep im trying! Who can pick it??? Not me but one thing I know is the tigers will be better off without benji. Maybe we'll avoid the wooden spoon! Cheers scratchie!!!
  25. Nice Jew! Mullet on a plastic would have been a real surprise. But knowing there are Jews lurking around I would have sent it back as a livey or fillet! Cheers scratchie!!!
