  1. The 2 main holes around tempe rail bridge are not fishable land based, though im sure your still a shot from the shore as they definately move through there.
  2. bonnies are thick atm, bait everywhere too
  3. Good for livies and squid, not much else.
  4. Landing them in the boat is hard enough pulling them away from the structure, bugger pullinghem towards it, has off to all land based fishos
  5. Dropped a big one today myself, after hooking bonny after bonny finally a big king smashed my lure only to spit it out right at the boat
  6. Not a king mate, not with full drag and 200m of 80 pound braid with 100 pound line. Still would have been an awesome catch whatever it was. Theres been some strnge fish showing up in the hacking lately, could have been another pelagic of some sorts.
  7. I personally find BB terrible for squid when compared to the hacking. Have a look at google earth and find the weedy rocky areas in Yarra, Bare Island, Sutherland Point, Watts Reef and the deeper weedy patches off Towra.
  8. Yeah they didnt clean it properly at all, there was a petroleum smell at kurnell beach for weeks (more so than normal!)
  9. mate you can get about 8 baits from a good size squid, head plus six or seven good strips. Never use em whole unless theyre live in my opinion.
  10. Was that you in the paper the other day? Catch of the week was a 92cm flatty from the bay.
  11. Looks like it might be a decent jew spot around there too, anyone tried? Ive caught a few rat kings in there.
  12. No one seems to be able to give a definitive answer on that, i fish there all the time. The worse they can do is ask you to move on.
  13. We all have those days mate, at least you got a fish!
  14. Pics distorted, the fish was actually really skinny. I was suprised when i measured him and he was legal.
  15. Cut the throat, cut the gut open, grab the gills and rip em out immediately. Not the most humane way but kills them instantly.
  16. No pic small little silver fish with a faint yellow stripe down the lateral line, could be whitebait as ive never seen fresh or live whitebaits before.
  17. Just a quick one, got some yakkas and headed down the river, caught this fella on a yakka about the size of my pinky, when i gutted him his belly was full of tiny little baitfish ive never seen before.
  18. The mangroves near towra on a high tide are a great spot for whiting, nippers or worms are a must.
  19. Good haul mate. Botany bay is literally the worst system is Australia atm so your killing it, well done.
  20. Ive done alot of soft plastic fishing and i find Squidgies to be the least effective of the bigger brands in terms of bream fishing. ZMan and Gulp all the way.
  21. Just took my dog to the beach at Kurnell. There is a definate sheen on the water and a pungent smell. Worst clean up ever.
  22. Hit the fresh water stocked lakes, waaaaaay more fun. 200 pound catfish!!!
