Pump yabbies and fish the flats, I find anything else to be a waste of time unless targeting squid or kings. Pretty sure the hacking has the worlds largest population of baby snapper.
I live local but I only ever fish the Hacking and Botany. Decided im going to do a little recon mission down the Georges tomorrow in search of some bream and flatty. Gonna be flicking sp's around. Anyone care to divulge a little bit of info as to where would be a good starting point?
Thanks in advance.
Yeah its a great spot mate. Lots of structure, current and deep water. That channel that sits between the sand flat and the land is like a highway for fish. Good jewie spot too.
No mate, usually lots of pillies busting up around there but they are a waste of time as a livie. So hard to keep alive. Head out to salmon haul and jibbon. Berley up over the weed beds for yakkas. Also good spot to catch squid.
Best place in the hacking for a noobie is lilli pilli baths just anchor up in the deep water where the channel runs out from between the land and sand flat. Outgoing tide seems to be more productive.
Depends what side of the bay your on. You want the wind coming from the land into the water. Better yet no wind at all.
Heading outside a light westerly is best.
