Sambos were firing at South Curl Curl this morning Deep gutters ran along the water line as the tide ran in from dead low just after 6am picked up 4 in the first hour ranging 44 to 48cm. I tossed out a flank to entice something bigger to no avail. The surf started to get messy with the rising tide So I bailed shortly after 8 am. In the last week I have seen decent kings (85cm-1m) swim past within 2 m of the shore line down at the park at end of willis rd.. Like clock work between 330 an 4pm. And was astonished to see a big blue grouper down there in about 2 m of water it would have been between 80cm -1m I didn't realise you got mature ones so far up stream

The best access to the steps is down from Cammaray rd on the bend where it meets Emerstan drive there is a gate and a 4wd track down if your lucky and the gates unlocked you can drive in a little way before the track narrows then walk down to the point where the steps are

Started down at Greenwich sailing club around 8 last night with some fresh yakkas and some 2 day old calamari tube with little success. Some guys leaving gave me 2 nice fresh inkers so I through one out as strip with little attention and the other. ( A big fella about 35cm tube) stuffed him with 2 little pillys (some guy on you tube calls it pilly in a condom). It was about 50 below zero with the wind chill so I was sitting in the car only to look up and see my spoiled reel and 14ft rod disappear over the railing leaving behind only half a cracked guide. Anyone who catches a monster Jew or bull with a rod and reel attached I would like my saltiga back. After some extensive swearing and cursing and general tantruming I moved up to the ferry wharf the harbour decided to give a little back picked up three 35+ bream 34 and 37 Taylor and a 45 cm pike.
