  1. Taking my sister and her boyfriend out on the boat for the first time, probably up to Pittwater area to drop a line. Saturday night beer and steak after a day on the water, Sunday not sure. Have a top weekend all Cheers, Mark
  2. Well done once again mate, the Nobel is sure getting a real workout so far! Best of luck with the Flattie's, it's really not that hard once you find where they are. I've been killing it with them, yet i've had a handful of day's out trying to christen my new boat with a Kingie and still no luck one day Cheers, Mark
  3. Don't you believe it Penguin. My favourite by far and i'm a picky bastard! Plus anything associated with the greatest football team to ever grace the paddock has to be good! Cheers, Mark
  4. Balmain Bugs over Lobsters any day for me. I've never heard a bad word about the Mowies for a feed gongfisho but i pulled up a 1.5kg number on a charter last summer and when i got it on the table my mate and i took one bite and had to abandon it, had a pizza at the door in half an hour, real soapie we both agreed. Cheers, Mark
  5. Sounds like you had a fun day on the water, some action is better than none. Those Jews will be a bit of fun for someone in a few years. Cheers, Mark
  6. Appreciate the input livo (and Penguin). I definately hope it's a short circuit rather than overheating, it did spend a couple of day's on the water without a cover over it during the holiday's, but i've got somewhere to start now. Thanks again mate. Cheers, Mark
  7. Just my luck, and it just had a 100 hour service. It's a 75hp Mercury (1998) The funny thing is the noise is there when i first turn the boat on so it wouldn't be hot yet. In saying that it does sound like an alarm except that the pitch varies with acceleration? Cheers, Mark
  8. G'day Raiders. A bit of a long shot. Just want to sound out a problem i'm having with the money pitt that is my boat, before i go spend up AGAIN! There's a high pitch ringing noise coming out of the hand throttle box (accelerator) next to the steering wheel? I'm going to pull it apart and have a look what i can do but if anyone has experienced this problem i might have more of an idea of what i'm looking for? The more you accelerate the higher the pitch gets. Cheers, Mark
  9. Great story! Nice thinking tying the bottle to the line and well done on the Hood! Cheers, Mark
  10. Well done with the new boat mate, what kind of unit powers it? Looks like your fully set up, there's no stopping you now. Congrats' on the catch as well, nice way to christen the new beast Cheers, Mark
  11. I would assume if they were hungry enough they would eat anything if it's all that is on offer. In saying that they'd obviously have preferences. I heard that if say you had a Yakka and a Slimy sitting side by side they would be more inclined to take a slimy because thay have less spikes on them and go down better, which is why they prefer squid overall because they are a smooth meal. Bream would be a spikey feed but obviously from the reports they do eat them. Cheers, Mark
  12. Congrats mate the cherries been popped, hopefully many more to come. Cheers, Mark
  13. One of the locals said it was the size of his tinnie or even a little bit bigger, his boat goes 13ft. Cheers, Mark
  14. Cheers, i'll have to give that a try. Mark
  15. What's your method of salting them Roberta? Mark
  16. Awesome bag for such a short period on the water. It must of been hard to drag yourself out of there, well done! Cheers, Mark

    Towed Home

I needed a tow when i was up at Laurieton one year. Asked a guy but said he couldn't because he had an appointment to go to. When i finally got a tow i passed him about 200m down stream kicking back with a line out, thanks champ! Mark
  18. Consideration on both parts for sure. In saying that, boats are harder to maneuver then a single fishing line. When a wharf is required by a boater (which is what they are built for after all) usually it's only required for a couple of minutes or so, so there is no reason why a quick retrieve of line then a wait of a couple of minutes is asking to much. Cheers, Mark
  19. I would of thought the Paternoster would keep the rig off the bottom away from the weed??
  20. Hi guy's. How would a paternoster rig go for squiding? I have a tendency to get snagged alot. Mark
  21. I have fished the northern (Manly) side of the Spit Bridge for Kingie's before with a little bit of luck. On the ocean side of the North bank there is a sandstone retaining wall. About 70m from the bridge there is a red mooring buoy (or there was, i think it's still there) just off the shore, cast towards it, burley if possible and you might have some luck. I bagged three Kings at that spot one morning, one going to 75cm. That was last year though but i can't see why it would've changed. Good luck! Cheers, Mark
  22. Mate there are thumper Bream to be had in the harbour. I personally would not eat anything caught on the Gladesville side of the Harbour Bridge. I find anchoring on a drop off in about 10 meters of water (need a depth sounder) burleying and casting into the deeper water gets me a couple of legals almost everytime. Cheers, Mark
  23. Pics as per post. Thanks MallacootaPete. Cheers, Mark
  24. G'day Raiders. Took the boat up to the Basin at Pittwater for some camping and fishing on Sunday arvo into yesterday. My mate and I managed to get a couple of hours in before dark on Sunday night which yealded a thumper Bream, a PB at 36cm, and a solid whiting at about the same length also a PB (don't worry, pictures to follow when i get them off my mates phone). Went down a treat on the double burner gas barbie back at the camp site might i add. A rough night sleep on the hard ground (forgot the sleeping mat's!) but ready to go all the same for a morning session which yealded 3 Flathead, the biggest going to 49cm( pics also to come). Back to the site for a couple of beers and a swim and out again for a top notch arvo session all together landing 4 Flathead a thumper Flounder and a Bream at 31cm. While i was having a nap my mate also landed two more Flathead at around 38cm (the freezer is stocked!) The flounder went down an absolute treat with the bream and one of the flathead after arriving back on land after altogether a successful couple of day's on the water. Here are some pics(post underneath).
  25. KingsRule. Don't you have a job to go to or anything bro? My mouth waters everytime while i sit here at work slaving away while your out there chasing the mighty Kings! Well done on the catch by the way. Cheers, Mark
