  13. After years of getting things that end up taking up space in some dark corner, we have come up with a solution to the problem ........... I'm Santa's consultant for some of my presents and leave a general list of other things to consider so scored well this year some shorts, some shirts (Fishing and cars), fishing book, CD's, DVD of the old Samurai TV series from when I was a kid (way old lol - now how did we use to make those star knives) and a new Daiwa Laguna 1500 reel for my SP stick from AKA she who will be obeyed Have a good and safe Xmas everyone - reap the Karma and catch a big one Chris
  14. Hustler I take it you tested the throttle unit fitted to this motor on another boat and it was working OK You have now fitted it to your boat and it won't return to idle after you have used the throttle after warm up This shows that the problem should be in the fit up of the throttle unit and cable For a fingers crossed quick hopeful fix try resetting the cable adjustment, hook up the hose and run the motor check for airleaks while your there and see if the problems fixed If the problem still exists you will have to go back to basics and go through the process of elimination as per the next part of this post To confirm this you will need to disconnect the throttle cable from the motor and check the throttle responce for free action and to see if the return spring/s are working and connected if this is OK then you should hook the hose to the motor and run it, pick up the revs after a warm up period and check the throttle return also check for any airleaks around the carbies if all checks OK go to the throttle unit make sure it works freely before reconnecting the cable to the motor If it feels sticky when worked check for any pinch marks on the cable, if its all OK then lube the cable and reconnect adjust so there is a little preload when in the idle position this should make sure it returns all the way I'll PM you my mobile number and you can call me if you need any help I'm just up the road at Bankstown so if your still in trouble I can drop by regards Chris
  15. Hi All As per the username I'm Chris the 55 is my year of entry makes me 51 and counting Live in Bankstown and that's been most of my life and married to my wife Karen for the past 27 yrs, 2 daughters 21 & 18 who think they are share holders at the "Bank of Dad" I work in the Forestry industry selling spare parts for timber harvesters since '98, before this worked as a mechanic and in heavy industry from stores to inventy/purchasing to parts sales Ive been out of fishing for a while but am starting to get back into it, even stiring the need to fish with a mate that has be too busy as well (we're getting his boat ready for the summer) Other hobbies (read motor bikes and tropical fish keeping) took up most of my time then Had some great trips with the boys in the past, nothing like dropping a wheel bearing 120 km out of Townsville pulling a 6.4 mt Broadbill on the way to Pt Douglas Found the site when googling info for a new reel to fit up on my Daiwa Procaster yehaa BONUS finally found a Sydney based website Looking to target estuary and Bass this time round but always willing to be social if someone needs a DAB (desperate and boatless) fishing friend (until I convince she who will be obeyed that we really need a tinnie) Chris
