  1. yeah saw some on the bay 5mm thick which should be good with heat tolerances up to 160 c should be ok but the only thing is the motor cost me a packet and would want it to catch on fire or anything but it wouldnt get anywhere near 160c just wandering has anybody else had the same dilemma and how did it go like its not a must do but would be nice to lower the dbs
  2. went down to bias they had stuff for engine boxes but said it really wouldnt suit an outboard cowling any other ideas i know you can get spray on stuff but people reckon its pretty messy and gets flaky and stuff cheers

  10. yeah im a welder to i understand what your sayin squidin but in sayin that you may as well just use bog / silicone / or super glue witch will probably stick better than the flux not havin a go at ya mate i just got a real hate for those rods they just prey on people that are just after an easy fix thats all
  11. i agree specially while on the plane
  12. yeah maybe with flux but thats just the flux stickin to do a proper weld the metal HAS to be molten and filled with a filler as alloy melts at 1000+ couldnt do it properly with a blowtorch maybe with an oxy but alloy distorts very easily and end result wouldnt be to flash a migs the go

  17. actually even if the trailer doesnt have a vin number its really easy to get one well actually you do nothing the mechanics apply to the rta and get one but the only thing on your rego papers it will just say homemade ( if that bothers you) i didnt mind and the boat i went down to penrith marine no HIN no receit no nuffn and i had to sign a stat dec and just go to the post office and get a justice of the peace to sign it then all was done for me new hin new rego and and all done just took a day of running around and from memory onlycost a couple of hundred bucks really its not hard at all also got plenty of box trailers blue slipped with no vin numbers to just got to apply for new ones hope this helps
  18. hi mate you need to take the trailer any where they do blue slips if its been out of rego for more than 3 months its real easy and wont take long at all the boat just take down to your local boat shop and theyll point you in the right direction from memory the maritime has a list on all of them in nsw cheers
