  1. What a shame that monster didn't commit to your lure Roberta. With all the fresh we have received of late, and the lack of warm weather, the top-water action is all but over for us down here. Terrific to see you on the water and terrorising the bream again! cheers Ian
  2. You and Evi get to visit some terrific locations Geoff! Sounds like you had a great day on the river. What a pleasant surprise to get 'the good oil' from a local and have it actually pay off! Great report as always mate. Cheers Ian
  3. Amazing photos! Congratulations on your success Cheers Hodgey
  4. Great session fellas! I'm not a fan of eating salmon but they are are my favourite fish to target for sheer fun factor. Their surface strikes are fantastic and they give a great account of themselves, especially on bream gear. Terrific report and photos as always. Love the ZipNZiggy (in black pearl) and the sebile range of lures. (especially on the bass) Cheers Hodgey
  5. The 'Pink Panther' of Diamonds must surely be around the corner for you now after all that disappointment mate! I look forward to your next report featuring the king that didn't get away. Cheers Ian
  6. Congratulations Cath! Cheers Skip
  7. A few of the local schools have 'fishing' as a sport here. It used to be conducted in the Moruya River next to where I worked. At lunch time I would go down there, catch up with the teachers, and give talks on casting, knot tying, lures and so on. Kids would sit there rapt and the teachers were very appreciative. It was the favourite day of the week for them ... and me as well! Cheers Hodgey
  8. Sunline products are fantastic, and I have had no issues with Power Pro either. Both will do what you need. No need to go over 6lb braid. Have a look at this link for more information regarding braid: Braid review Cheers Hodgey
  9. Hope you had a crackin' good day mate! Cheers Skip

  12. G'day all We had a great day for the challenge and Dene and I had a ball. Whilst I couldn't find a fish over 65cm Dene landed a couple of very nice fish. Z man and squidgy lures were the most successful for us on the day, all fished on 1/4 oz jigheads. Color didn't seem to matter much, as long as you fished out of the current and located the bait. We missed out on the money again this year but it was an extremely enjoyable day on the water with my old mate, with the usual banter and mischief. Congrats, Deno! 68cm Cheers Hodgey
  13. G'Day all Received a few phonecalls from my youngest brother and his son on Fri/Sat. They were camped on the Edward River near Moulamein. Although the river level is high, water conditions were perfect. The two blokes enjoyed a crackin' weekend, landing yellas, silver bream and murray cod. Most of the cod fell to dark spinnerbaits thrown deep into the the timber and one to a trolled silver Poltergeist. I've recently picked up a couple of codseeker surface lures and am looking forward to giving them a swim in water like this in the very near future! Cheers Hodgey
  14. Congrats on a very nice fish Paul. It has been entered into COTM Cheers Hodgey
  15. Congrats on a superb fish and a great report of its capture. It has been entered into COTM. Cheers Hodgey

  19. Another great session Rob. Those fish were in excellent condition and are an ideal size for the table. Well done! Cheers Ian
  20. Good luck to all those Raiders fishing the PIRTEK challenge. The weather looks terrific.

  21. All done mate. Good luck with the outcome of your project Cheers Hodgey
  22. Excellent photots as always Dean and an entertainting read. Judging by the photos, there was no specific skirt color on the spinnerbaits that did the damage? (I'm a big fan of the purple/bronze skirt in the first photo) All the fish look to be in excellent condition; especially the cod. Looks like a terrific part of the world to roam with a rod and lure. Would you mind giving me a rough idea what hardbody was effective on the trout mate? Cheers Ian
  23. A great fish for your first ... well done! Cheers Hodgey
