  1. Thanks for the tips guys! 4myson, do you have any issues with seeing the tiles through the carpet or did they use a thick underlay.. If so did you end up with much of a raise from the tiled areas to the carpeted? I will have a professional come and have a look when I get to the house.. Stuck out west with work at the moment.
  2. I like others just know.. Being on shift 7hrs from the water I seem to go and play with them all the time and know whats on every spool on 25? or so rods from 4lb bream rods to 80lb jigging setups!
  3. Hey All, My house is currently tiled almost throughout and its hard on the feet so id like to put some carpet down in the main bedrooms and the lounge room? I really don't want to rip out the tiles though, so im wondering if anyone in the know can point me in the right direction? Was even thinking just get carpet cut to the size of the rooms and an edge put on the carpet and using like rugs? probably a stupid idea? Any advice appreciated and what would carpeting a room cost? House in in Shoalhaven area?
  4. Hairtail in Jervis Bay?? More info PLEASE?
  5. Never ending question, I change all the time... Recently went from heavier gear to lighter gear, but then something different happens on a trip and you want your heavy gear back.... main 2 at the moment are a Br4500 (15kg braid) on Sakana 6-10kg composite rod and a Thunnus 4000 (10kg Braid) on a Lox 6510FG, rod is actually a micro jigging type rod, but action and weight are great for fishing that 40m area and it doubles and a great rod for floating baits!
  6. yea, just found pic of the one I used and had different handle..
  7. Also interested in the reel, Ive seen and used a VERY similar looking one to catch a few kings that was only brought in as a demo reel and never released under their own brand?
  8. seen a show where they were trying to work it out and thought that it was from bumping their heads in the gravel, but then some grown in tanks still grew the bump so its built in over time or something else, end story, they really dont know!???
  9. Murrays beach is a good spot for squid. You could try the rocks to the south of husky for salmon, squid and the beaches for flatties etc.
  10. Fished off sydney for Tuna on Wed, then Bellambi on thursday morn dfor snapper, but also gave up when that wind came in, sounds like we should have gone north on thursday as more reports of tuna on thurs than wed!
  11. Was out there as well looking for the Tuna, Spent most of the day around southerns and headed up to Browns late, big fat 0 for us. all we saw was a small school of stripys and some dolphins..
  12. you cant fish anywhere that its pink! Make sure you pick up a map available at most fishing shops and such down there! There is a Key on the side of the map that shows what activities are allowed in what areas, but basically stay out of the pink. More Info http://www.mpa.nsw.gov.au/jbmp-overview-7.html There is an area in the commenwealth area close to Creswell that you are not allowed to go (Dark Blue) Link to MPA Map http://www.mpa.nsw.gov.au/pdf/JBMP-User-Guide-August-2014.pdf As for the Booradee Waters, Bag limits on fish and squid species are differant in these waters http://laptop.deh.gov.au/parks/booderee/explore/fishing-boating.html EDITS! I think ive covered it all now!
  13. How did you go Neil? We had some awesome weather down there.. Fishing was a bit funny though... Took us a day and half to find the fish nothing showing on the sounder. Plenty of bait schools but nothing around them, spent half a day trolling live squid for kings but no luck, a few touches halfway between the bay and Currarong along the cliffs but no takers. The squid we had no trouble finding, only most of them were too big for baits but will make a great dinner.. Was also good watching the Navy boats doing some exercises on the bay! Ended up getting some nice snapper, flatties around the 50cm mark and a dozen large squid. Most of the fish ended up hooking up on fresh slimy fillets. Had some fun on light gear with the salmon on longnose too. nearly ended up staying another day and fishing the basin but decided that the 6hr drive home would be better gotten over with!
  14. Any idea how far off JB? Im heading down tomorrow for a few days and will head out and chase if they come close enough to shelf!
  15. plastics or bait fishing?
  16. Im using Lox ambassadors in 1-3kg and have a few of the browning synergys also 1-3kg.. The brownings have a slow taper and I find them nicer for flicking plastics whereas the lox have a faster taper and a great for vibes and hardbodies. As suggested the crusis rods are also nice and a lot cheaper if your not worried about having top end hardware/guides.

  19. Also, love the NSS update where you can view AND CONTROL you unit from a tablet!! can setup tablet at back of boat where you are fishing and no have to go back to the unit!
  20. simrad is a higher end product! im a big fan off the NSS but im using the Evo1 i can only imagine the evo2 is a step above!!
  21. that boat will be perfect in the basin mate, monster dusky flatties, big bream, big tailor and the occasional Jew are caught in there! Some good snapper come from the reefs too.. Just had a look at sea breeze, looks like winds and weather going to be on our side!!
  22. There are 4? ramps in the basin all about 15 minutes away. The best ramp is at basin view, has proper wharf etc and suitable for large boats. Ramps at St Georges basin, Ewrol Bay and sanctuary point are suitable for smaller boats. all around the basin are shallows and these and the drop-offs will all produce fish, they drop from 1 to 10 metre all the way around. There are a number of artificial reefs, gps cords on maritime sites. The eastern dropoff is known to produce big tailor. For bream look for the cockle beds. Max depth is about 10m. Sussex inlet feeds the Basin. Good Luck!
  23. I was going to stay there but ended up at in husky so we could walk home from pub after a feed and a few bundys.. I fish JB or Sussex generally one weekend a month, hopefully more when I move down that way soon! Worth a shot in St Georges basin in your size boat, better flatties and bream in the basin than the bay and absolutly great location for lure and plastics fishing! As for JB If the weather is good, drive around and launch at Murrays Beach (costs $10) but puts you right ontop of the squid and a short trip to middle ground or bowen Is. instead of the long trek accross the bay.. We will be launching at Wollamia so if your fishing keep an eye out for a White/Blue Haines "Swifty" and give us a wave!
  24. Ill be down there same time Neil, 28th to 1st.. Will be fishing the Bay and out front for kings n snapper or out to the shelf if we get good reports on the BFT.. Where are you staying? Swifty!
