  1. After reading your report, I think i can't resist to go that wide. Just wondering how far is the Brown Mountains from Rose Bay Boat Ramp? What fuel capacity is required? I got Stacer 525 and the previous owner told me it got 100lt tank under the deck (i'm not sure if he is telling me the truth). I also got a 20lt spare filled in the container. Would that me enuff? Would u mind to give me the coordinates for brown mountains? I'm using navionics download from apple store which i use it everytime when i'm in water. I'm new in boating and it would be great if u can guide me to Brown Mountains on your next trip so i can learn some boating techniques from u. Cheers macmac

  4. Hi yarraone, Just want to know how much it cost to join Reef Magic Charter per person. Just a bit hesitate to ask them directly as I know it may cost a lot of $$. Thinking of fishing charter for quite a long time as I really want to learn how they do the boating and set up the gears off wide. Cheers, Phil

  8. Thanx Butch. I'm quite new to boating and just wonder how to identify the reef from the sounder. My fishfinder is Garmin 400C and the instruction manual does not tell u how to identify objects from screen. How does the reef look like from the screen? If anyone can assist me with picture that will be great. Cheers, Phil
  9. excellent report mate. Cheers, Phil
  10. Hi Butch, What bait did u use? Landbased or boating? I never catch one in boat but caught a lot in landbase in clovelly. Cheers, Phil
  11. Hi alls, I just replace 3 tyres (including the spare) as cracks were identified on the side of rubber to my recently bought-used boat with trailer. The mechanics told me to replace them otherwise he won't issue me pink slip for my trailer. He told me there was an immediate danger on my trailer and if i run it to the freeway at high speed, both tyres may have a chance to burst. It cost me $95.00 each. Regards, Phil
  12. First time i heard using cooked prawn for bait. Probably give a try if its work. I usually caught drummer instead of groper when i use green prawn but it also happened once or twice to hook groper by green prawn. Also I have to use very good quality hook to catch groper as it is a hard fighting creature and always bend and open my hook using their hard rock teeth. Cheers phil
  13. Hi alls, Just suddenly come up into my brain, is there anyone here wear safety helmet while rockfishing? I've been thinking about it for quite a long time before as i beleive it will do a head protection in case being pulled out by sudden huge wave from rock. Just no gut to wear it coz ppl definitely will laugh on u. Regards, Phil
  14. Hi Brettmann, Where did u fish? U do it landbased or boating? Did u use crab for bait? What type of berley u using? I'm quite familiar in landbased groper fishing before i got my own boat. I usually fish groper in Clovelly (next to cemetery) and there r plenty of them. However i never catch groper anymore while in boat. They seems like to stay near the rocks. Regards, Phil

  19. Thanx all. I hope they're willing to do spooling service for me even though I didn't buy the reel from them. Gobal tackle is too far away from my place. Probably just go to nearby tackle shop and ask. Anywayway, thanx to landbasenewbie's suggestion. I think I will practice how to cast an overhead reel in my backyard first before i wet the line. I don't want to see myself in trouble during the fishing session. I will use my Shimano saragosa first if i'm still not confident to conventional reel. Thanx for your remind johnv. Is it hard to use conventional reel compare to spinning? I heard that every beginner will experience bird nesting on their reel at the beginning. Just can't imagine with this mess during the fishing session. Also I find out there,s a piece of ittle standing point on the middle of trinidad reel which make me hesitate to wind new line to the spool. What is this little protruding thing function? To tie a knot on it instead make a uni knot to the reel? Regards, Phil
  20. Hi raiders, Recently just bought a new Shimano Trinidad TN-50 from US online shop. Never use overhead reel before so don't have any idea how to spool a new line to it. Any Help from u? Regards, Phil
  21. I would like to ask the same question for the pills. Regards, Phil
  22. Hi all, Just a bit of confuse after reading the tthread. I know that u need to lit up the all round white light when u r in anchored position. Is that mean u don't need to switch on the all round white light while navigating as long as the sidelights r switched on? Regards, phil
  23. Hi to all fishraiders, Anyone know where I can buy the genuine Johnson's 2 stroke outboard motor oil from Sydney? Regards, Phil
  24. Hi Fish2day, Touching someone rod without owner's permission is totally unacceptable. We should get rid of this bustard. I have a suggestion so next time if u meet the rude fella again, try to take photo of him and pin the pix on this web site so every member of fishraider will recognise him and probably do something for u. If he is one of the fishraider member, then Admin should get rid of him and put him to the noticeboard. Probably u won't see him in sydney foreshore for the next couple of years. Cheers, Phil
  25. My boat seems won't fit to this ramp. Thanx Jeff. Regards, Phil
