  9. Cracker story mate and some stonker bream by the looks of it. Love that you cracked a beer at 4am. Thats true aussie style. Well done mate.
  10. So my truck has been off the road for a week now and so no truck equated to what i thought no fishing over long w/e....yes very devastating. Then the lovely wife says to me i should drop her off to work then take her car. I was out of bed before she finished the sentence. I packed 2x 13ft beach rods and my new 7ft 3-6kilo set up. lets just say for a mazda 2 hatchback it was pretty chockers. So a land based beach sesh was on the cards chasing choppers and sambos. Starting later i wasnt expecting a decent session however i was blown away. Got to the beach and soaked the first bait at 9.30. First hit after about 30min my mate picked up a half decent wobby and then a plate sized ray. Both released. Went dead for about 1 . 5 hours then my mate got an air knot in his braid. Mean while were fixing that 20metres away my light combo i heard that beautiful noise zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Looked over and my rod is bending and bending hard. What ever was on my line was hooked good and not happy about it. After i ran over picked up the rod this thing had run for a good 60m and still taking line. After it tired i got its head turned and started making some yards back. This thing went left and right up the beach. Made 6 fantastic aerial leaps in which from a far i thought i had hooked my first ever king. Also had a stonker of a mouth when it was jumping trying to shake the hooks. After 15min i finally beached this thing and landed my pb salmon coming in at 72cm. Around 4kilo im guessing. Horrible with weight guesses but this thing was solid. Cheers.
  11. Hi daniel. Firstly can i just express that i am very sorry that this happened to you and your son. In no way someone deserves to be treated like this. I hope your knee recovers quickly so you can get back out on the water with your son so you can have a good session and out weigh the bad. Very unfortunate the police can not do anything in regards to this. Second i would just like to express my feelings in which this is not directed at anyone in particular nor mean any offence to you and your son daniel. However i just dont think us "jet skiers" should be sterotyped into categories due to ones behaviour. Yes i agree there are more bad than good when it comes to jet skis but being a family that have 3 jet skies and with a family that has raced tunnel boats for many years and constantly on the water we always enter the water with the right ethics and utmost respect for ANY other boater and dont think we should be categorised or stereotyped into all these names. Nor should they ban all jet skies from the water. That is like saying due to the small proportion of fishos out there that keep undersize fish or exceed bag limits they are not going to allow anybody to fish in nsw. Just not right. Just wanted to get that out there. Happy for any comments or feedback as a discussion only and as previously mentioned this was said to cause no offence nor directed at anyone individually. Cheers
  12. Awesome stuff ben. What location or waterway were you fishing

  17. Kingies were the last thing on my mind as i have never fished for them before so thought i woulf chase anything i can get my hook on. I think i will use the other bigger rod for bait then take the other rod for throwing plastics around. Im actually really keen to get out there in the yak.
  18. Ok i have one of those box type poddy mullet traps. Maybe i could keep in that which is actually a fantstic idea!!!! Spot on the money there thanks heaps!!! Yeah i heard terrigal haven around all the moorings and also out near the yellow boy.
  19. Raiders!! Not sure if anyone has seen my recent post about catching live bait. My plan is too hit up a few in shore reefs and things just out from terrigal heads and a few local beachs on the coast. I am planning on catching a few live yakkas and maybe some squid. I have a new combo which is a 7ft carbon fibre rod with a 3000 daiwa aird fitted with 11lb braid. Will this be ok to put some sort of rig to it for live baiting. If so what rigs do i use and what size leader and hooks. if not i have a much heavier outfit which is a 7ft rod but weight is alot heavier suitable for boat fishing but heavier (will update soon on specifics) so what rigs etc do i hook up to this. Cheers raiders
  20. Awesome thats great advice. I will try a few different suggested methods of burley and bait. I think best way to go is use a single hook and not the bair rigs. Thanks everyone for their advice. In saying this being on the kayak i will not have a live bait tank. Will they still be any good as dead fresh bait or is there someway or project i coulr do to keep them alive?
  21. Mate that sounds beaut. I will be very keen. Haha names cameron. Thanks mate. Looking forwarf to it
  22. Hey mate i have all the right foshing gear ranging from rods to nets to gaffs. It is my wife and her little brother. I am very experienced on a ski and have been on them every second weekend during summer for about the past 6 years. Love going out and getting waves on them so reading the surf and bars and tackling big surf is not an issue. We currently have three skis in the family.
  23. South west rocks breakwall when the flood waters is running out. Never experienced or foshed it myself but have done alot of research on the rocks and many articles quote how good it is after heaving rains
