  1. Hey guys just wondering if any of you would be willing to share any good spots that is currently producing some good breams and estuary perch on soft plastics in sydney either parra river, cooks river or georges river . I usually fish in drummoyne and it produces a lot of great fish but has slowed up now in the winter month and ive tried a few spots down the parra with little to no results so any advice would be appreciated.
  2. I own the 1-3 kg catana at 7 foot long and it does great on the bream with jigs from 1/32 all the way up to 3/4. landed some big fish on it but my personal favorite rod is the nexave its $120 and i feel like it has a lightly longer and smoother cast to it. None the less the catana is a great rod for the price
  3. i have a lot of success with a 1/8 jighead and the zman slimz swimz 2.5 inch. I generally use this in 1-3 m of water but have also had success in water up to 8 m.
  4. I also have really enjoyed wooloware this year. We have lost a couple 40+ bream at the boat and picked a minimum of 5 bream an hour we even cought a nice 65cm flatty Congrats on the baby
  5. Ye on our gps/depth sounder we got a chip so we can see all the holes but thx anyways.
  6. Hey guys dad and I are planning to hit the harbour for a night trip targeting jewfish. We have a spot that has been producing quite a few jewfish but only 1 in 30 are legal. Would anyone be able to share some tips in where's hot. I'm happy for you to send me a pm. Rgds youngfella
  7. I have a 5.2 m yellowfin. We try play it safe and will only head out in swell under 1.8m
  8. Well the marlin have been seen chasing the bait fish all the way to botany heads so you can catch them not to far out. Just off maroubra 12 mile is going good at the moment and Botany Bay wide fad. This is because the water is hotter at these point and the further out you go. Dollies can be found around long reef maroubra and ive even caught them near the rocks which is rare. Hopefully you enjoy your first few trips and have no issues Rgds youngfela
  9. Off Brighton or off dolls point is a good land based place to fish in the bay. Brighton is well known for its whiting but you will have to be there from 5 because thats when the bight starts and thats when there r no one swimming. Dolls point is the same thing but here you can catch bream flaties small snapper big whighting and if your lucky you might land a crab if you bring it in slow enough Rgds youngfella
  10. We had pretty similar days!!! We also blew a motor but didnt have another unfortunately. But we caught abou 50 undersize dollies!!! We saw them following the bait up so we started curbing with some pillies then used unweighted bait. All fish caught were between 50-65cm
  11. I have a honor kayak for one. I fish with three rods and I've never fell in. It's very stable but you might get a splash or two of water in your face when paddling. I have the foot pedals which makes it a little easier to move around and also a rouder. I enjoy it but you have to put a lot more effort into moving around. Rgds george
  12. I was just outside yesterday just on north head and at 7am the water temp was sitting around 21.2 degrees. At the end if the day coming in it was at the 22.7 mark and it was blowing southerlies. So the changing water temp might have something to do with it but I'm not to sure. I've also noticed that the kings we pick up just outside have never gone size but I guess that should mean more size kings for the years to come !!!
  13. If you dont mind me asking How big were the lures and what pound braid where ya using?
  14. I have the mark for the peak but ill have to find where it's written down. Just outside the heads on the left there are a lot of kings if u wana have some fun. Unfortunately most of them are undersize. If u want a spot in the bay to go for bream or snapper or even flaties just send me a pm.
  15. I ve gone out 4 times in the last week. I had trouble finding the bream also but we caught 5 at the tug boats where u catch yakkas. We also got a size snapper there!!!. Another place that has picked up is a drift from dolls point to Brighton. We caught some big flaties and a couple 35 cm bream. The best place we found was at wooloware bay behind the boats on the left next to the oyster stick things (anchored). For squid we catch then at watts reef on a drift. I also got a chance to speak with scott lyons at the ramp yesterday when he was coming out and he said they caught a lot of calamari at watts but not so many arrow heads. Rgds youngfella
  16. Did you drift in georges river? If so could u send me where abouts because we r struggling for fish in the bay. It's all good if it's a no though
  17. That's good news because I'm gana head out with a few other boats for Jews next week and it's good to know the big boys are there
  18. I also went oi today with 8 other boats and we got a total of 3 Ovid wehheing 6 kg cleaned and 5. Squid on bait weighing. We were going for bream though.
  19. Thats a great report mate and a great fish. Hope there are more days like that.
  20. The water is pretty cold because the warm water is being mixed with the cold and the water is staying cold. This is happening because of the storms. I reckon about 5 days of hot wheather and no rain an the fishing will pick up
  21. That's not a bad catch in 5 hours considering the fishing that's been going on the past few weeks. I'm hoping to hit the hawkesbury with about 4 other boats in a afternoon night and morning fish. We are going to hit a place near Jerusalem bay or point. Hopefully we catch a size Jew or two. Last time we caught two 25cm Jews. Anyways would you have any spots to suggest for jewies at night?
  22. We woke up at 4am hoping to be fishing at 5:30. We went to buy some bait but they didnt have any Hawksbury squid so we decided not to chase Jews but bream. So we headed down to towra and very surprisingly there was not 1 boat and it stayed like that the whole time we were there. We put the crab nets out and hoped for the best. After about 10 minutes of fishing i decided to pull out the handling and give it a go. I was also very amazed that we were in 6 metres of water i could see the bottom very clearly. I was shocked because i saw a crab walking towards my bait and i started pulling it in but my dad was unable to net it as he was not wearing his glases. After and hour at the spot we had about 5 snappers caught but no keepers so we decided to check the crab nets. In the first one we had a crab but it was not in properly it was just sitting on top of the pot so we lost it. The other nets came up blank. We decided to head more to the point of towra so we slowly made our way there. I was standing at the front of the boat to see if we were on weed on not and i saw the most amazing thing. As we were driving i saw two big flaties swimming next to eachother but they were scared of by the boat. Another 2 hours there changing spots and nothing. My mate suggested we go to the airport because he was spoiled by a king last week. So we went and there was action straight away. We pulled up a flatty 5 bream and 2 flounders in 10 minutes. Unfortunately only the flatty and 1 bream were size. After 2 hours there we only managed to pull up smal bream and snappers. We went back to towra agian to check the pots and in the first one we had gotten one. It was a real ******. It was cut my dad three times on the same finder so we resorted to putting elastics on its claws. In the other 3 pots we pulled up 1 crab. We were sitting there and thinking of what to do. We ended up headed somewhere around kernel next to the ramp. We left after 10 mins as all 3 of us had got snagged constantly. We headed to watts reef and spent an hour there but the wind had picked up and we had to go. We went and picked up the pots containing one crab. We went to wooloware bay because the wind was strong and it's very protected there. We had two drifts and only pulled up a few shells. So we called it a day as we had a party to get to.
  23. E were also fishing on the side of the third runway away from the boat and we had a lot of kingy action under the boat. The kings were in there hundreds under the boat and a few had popped up to the surface. We were jigging spinning and had squid out for an hour and nothing happened. Unfortunately the kings had moved on by then.
  24. I was out on sunday also for a good 8 hours only picking up 2 legal fish so i was also disappointed with that but the rubbish is discusting. I dont know why they are fisherman when all they are doing is killing the fish with there rubbish but good on you for taking time out of your day to benefit the community !!!
