  1. Hey all, Just wondering if any regular game fisho's can recommend a boat between 5.5m-6.5m which is capable of regularly fishing browns. I want something fairly spacious and designed for comfort in the ride etc. Any help is greatly appreciated. Regards, Dan
  2. Hey all, Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on any pro’s and con’s of bar crusher and TABS boats. The models I will be after are the half cabin ocean series type either 5.7m or 6.1m. If we ignore price, and whats included in a standard package, i’m moreso after any info about the ride of the boat. (ie. how it handles in bad chop). The boat will be primarily used for offshore fishing (browns and 12 mile). Any help is greatly appreciated. DAN
  3. Still rather juvenile at that size. I have caught them in excess of 20kg. I dont neccesarily agree with all those who say it is awesome snapper bait. I'm not saying its not good snapper bait, but i can't recall the last time ive read a post or even seen someone bag out at the snapper grounds using cuttlefish. Anyhow, nice catch!
  4. Hey guys, Just wondering if someone can help me track down a japanese website which sells fishing reels for a very discounted price. I have used it many times before and it was quite popular amongst the forums many years ago but i have since changed PC's and i have lost all my favourites. Any help is appreciated. DB
  5. Nah it was definitely around winter time that they were around in numbers. They were very easy to bag out on however this dates back now 3-4 years, it seems alot has changed since then.
  6. Ive missed out on the large run of arrow squid for the last two seasons i cant seem to remember which month they are at their peak. I've tried fishing through forums for previous posts of mine however ive had no luck in finding them. Anyhow, are they on? Has anyone been out lately? DB
  7. To those of you who condone this ban, i really feel sorry for you. First and foremost you are being mislead, if you honestly believe that they are closing these wharves due to those who leave their rubbish behind, then you really should go back to first grade because thats about as great as your intelligence is. If rubbish was the issue, they would get the correct authorities out there to issue fines. They even have surveillance cameras at most wharfs, if they REALLY wanted to discipline people, then they would know when and how to. This is just another GREEN initiative which will start here and spread throughout the harbour. People throw rubbish on the streets, in parks, at the beach, SHOULD WE CLOSE THEM TOO? Dont be so nieve guys!
  8. Awesome fish! Any pics of that event Greg? Would be interesting to see.
  9. Gee, that motion looks scary! Looks like it will happen unless we make noise just as Dogtooth said above. Can someone start an online petition? Or provide a link to an online petitioning site? I still don't see how it can be supported and recommended by council if 2 support and 3 reject?
  10. Thanks guys. That NavNet 3D lets you do anything, its incredible! A bit out of my price range though. The unit i'm after is a cheaper alternative, still quite costly though, and plots charts like the one below, does anyone know the name of it? Regards, Daniel
  11. Has anyone heard of the new legislation that is said to place a ban on electic reels with the next revision of bag and size limits? What are your thoughts on this idiotic attempt to limit anglers even more? I know many raiders own electric reels and being extremely expensive, one would expect some sort of rebate from the goverment if this is passed.
  12. Does anyone run any 3D imaging software in their boat for bottom bashing browns and the like? If so, what brand unit do you run and could you please PM me a link to the website. DAN
  13. Hey all, Im just looking for the Iphone/C-map thread, as i'm looking at purchasing this..(ive run a search and cannot seem to find this) Or if anyone can give me some advice that would be great. Daniel
  14. Anyone? I need to know asap.. Any help is appreciated.. Regards, Daniel
  15. Hey all, I've heard from a few that the botany fads are missing. Can anyone confirm this as i want to head out during the week this week. I can access the GPS marks for the botany fads however does anyone have the waypoint for the Waverider? Regards. Daniel
  16. Don't listen to him, the majority of kings are definetly caught leadlining and drop lining, a low percentage is caught in nets as by-catch. DAN
  17. This is getting too me so much now, more than words can say. I'm ready for a protest, a riot, something which will make them lose their confidence for good. I tell ya, i will not stop fishing ANY of the waterways i do, be it marine park or not. I am not going to give in to this horse ****. And to all those "fish-traders" who voted for the marine park, shame on you! Regards, Daniel
  18. Found this guys, this is the zone! http://www.marinesanctuaries.org.au/marine...0&Itemid=64 What a joke!!
  19. Stewy, just tell us when and where.. We need to be very abusive in our emails, that way they will know we are serious!
  20. Justin D, Can't help myself but fish migrations and seasonal variations are slightly different each year. If you can honestly say that you dont have a session by the end summer where you and your crew bag on out kings, then you can point fingers at the fisheries and pro's. The time you speak of when kings were everywhere in pittwater are those days and weeks when the temperatures and wind patterns are consisent. It won't be too long now! 2007 was one of the best years i've had on surface fish in and out of botany bay, averaging 15-20 mixed pelagics per session. This year there was nothing, nothing at all. Since the commercial guys cleaned up years ago, who do you suggest we blame for the fish dissapearing?
  21. To be honest i dont think its a question of "who has right of way", i think its more a question of "what F***head was stupid enough to travel across your path whilst you were casting?!!". You certainly have right of way, you were fishing there first, they have a whole river mouth in which they could have passed through. I use to do rowing on the regular down at birkenhead and looking behind you was always routine and i always knew what was up ahead so dont believe them when they say they are rowing blindly (or they dont have eyes at the back of their head).
  22. What a cracker of a session!! You cleaned up!! Regards, Dan
  23. Hey mate, was this in middle harbour or the harbour proper? Regards, Daniel
  24. I'm looking for a place to go for around 5-7 days at the end of or in the new year, preferably up north around the great barrier reef however i'm open to suggestions and would appreciate if i could get some feedback from others and their trips in the past. I will have the missus with me and fortunately she's agreed to spend an equal amount of time fishing(or not complaining about it) as she does shopping and getting her massages or whatever girls do. So yea just any ideas or trips that you can recommend will be great. Regards, Daniel
