  1. I’m at little Manly today “working “. I’ve never seen the water so clear and fish everywhere. That shadow is a Blue Groper I’d say just under 1m long
  2. Thanks for the replies and the advice. I’m really happy with the result, and it’s a bit of fun. Just can’t rush the process.
  3. All done. A couple of before and after pics.
  4. That’s right Gordon, just heard it on the news this morning.
  5. Hi Raiders, Just in case you haven’t heard, the NSW State Government are providing $100 vouchers that can be recouped in a variety of places. It ends at the end of June. I just booked a Whale Watch and the company doubled the value of the voucher, so 2 people for $98. The outsides of the pool at the sailing club had schools this morning. Some friendly squid looking around too.
  9. Thanks, the epoxy wash is done. Smooth in some areas then a little grainy in others. Would a light sand and redo help? Im not going for a full rebuild just a bit of a renovation. I’m keeping the original cork grips, reel seat and I will probably reuse the original Fuji B&W guides adding underbind.
  10. Sure is, great spot to try soft plastics for flathead. Move along the park North from the restaurant to the Mangroves. Fish it on the run out tide. I wouldn’t keep anything from that area, but it does produce.
  11. Thanks guys, next question If I do the epoxy do I need to hang it or can I just leave it in the rod dryer and maybe come back and touch up the points where the rod touches the supports
  12. Hi Raiders I’m doing up my old Butterworth ‘Rockhopper’, the old varnish is chipped and a little flaky. What is the best way to remove it without damaging the blank. Do I need to remove it all before I recoat it. Cheers
  13. Chipping Norton Lakes Search “Chippo” https://www.fishraider.com.au/search/?q=chippo&quick=1
  14. Big seas definitely knock out the string weed on the exposed rock platforms. Heavy rain kills it off in the other spots and it can take a long time to come back, sometimes years. Im in Yamba now and the string weed has died off in the regular drains, so it’s cabbage or nothing.
  15. Like Burger, Daiichi 2171B is my go to. Not kept on the shelf or the rack at my local. Front counter, under glass. Handy little box for swivels and beads. I think Big Neil told me they are also used for tying flies, the bent shank.
  16. Cheers Kingie Chaser It would take up a lot of bench space, little over the top for my morning coffee. Couldn’t believe the price new, up around 7K. Scored the grinder too which works, new selling for about 1K. I don’t know how I’m going to test the machine
  17. Hi Raiders Ive scored a pretty heavy duty coffee machine with a plug the won’t fit a normal socket. The earth has an extra bit to it at the top. What’s going on?
  18. Just noticed at Typo, adds a bit of charm.
  19. Ah I get it. I have a Butterworth 5144L Blackfish
  20. Scored again today, a beast of a rod MT9132. It came out of the same tackle store at Budgewoi as the other ones. Make a good break wall Jewie rod. The main part of the rod is sanded the butt isn’t. My first thought were Butterworth but could it be Snyder glad as the model number includes an H. MT9132H which probably stand for High Mount. I’ve seen it on Snyder’s before. Probably dates from the late 70’s like the others. Any thoughts, can you tell by the pattern in the glass.
  21. Great catch. Conditions look near perfect today, look forward to the report. Tight lines.
