  1. Cheers Vic, Send it to this PM address please
  2. I'm not blowing you kisses or anything like that...........but you have a great day Stewy........was going to suggest you go for a fish....But, not at the moment!
  3. Well I was just thinking we should have at least one, stuck above our sales counter!
  4. Speaking of Lifejackets and other related items. We have 5 Child, Auto Inflatable BLA Lifejackets on the shelf, we had three but apparantley Stewy couldnt get any Kids to go out with him! We will do a deal on these. We also have a GME MT400 EPIRB in stock, it is the standard unit Manual Activation, Non GPS. We ordered in for someone, and then they decided they wanted the GPS version, I dont like holding these on the shelf, so we will deal on this unit to quit it. Talk to Adrian or Myself. 02 9600 7514
  5. Congrats Gary well done......better than my weekend, didnt even get to think about wetting a line
  6. As Steve mentioned above, VHF is line of sight, so the bigger the higher the aerial, the better your reception is going to be. Hand Held, great as a back up. I note from Steve's answer above, that I presume you are close to the water and high up, he has said that you will have good line of sight from where you are. The issue that i think you will still find with a hand held is you will probably need to walk outside to pick up, with low power you may still be struggling and with 21 being a relay station your line of sight is not necessarily out to sea but a land based station.
  7. Hi Pak, This week has seen me; a) Recouperating after a big day on the water with Salty Dog, on Sunday, Chasing those elusive Billed creatures, everyone else was scoring well on the day before..........I seem to keep suffering from that "you should have been here yesterday!" Sorting a few things out at work, investigating changing supply of a couple of product lines etc. Looking at a flybridge with a mate tomorrow, and borrowing a hookah off a friend to go over the back of mine on the weekend and try and pinpoint a couple of leg ram leaks as to wether its Hoses or rams, will have a roll of ONE Tape (rescue tape but better, because Roadrunner sell it, and its better and cheaper......and its Roadrunner) I intend to have next week off, though have a feeling that Tues/ Wed may get skewed.......otherwise can do it then. Thurs/Fri Queensland,
  8. Nice Dolly Gerry. Was planning a run on Sunday, however at this stage my partner has pulled out with back issues
  9. Guys, Here are the prizes we have given away to our August and September COTM winners. A VHF aerial and a set of Navigation lights. There are some great prizes up for grabs, so get out there!
  10. I would like to pass on my thanks to Donna and Stewy for organising the night. We got a lot out of the presentation, just trying to keep my wallet in my pocket though and hang onto the boat dollars, currently consider another boat, so i am under orders not to put anymore into this one..............guess I had better keep quiet about the awesome 4.5M Game Poles that Gary delivered here for me last night.....surely I can fit those up without her seeing them, and the 4 blue underwater lights I have on the bench. And the deals Huey was offering on Lowrance last night, a 10" would fill my dash in so well...... ANy way back to reality, it was really great to put some faces to avatars and Meet another 2 fellow sponsors. From our part, the night was extremely easy, there was very liitle effort on our part to provide the venue, and we are more than happy to open up again for future events.
  11. Happy Birthday Donna, have a great day
  12. Where are you located ? im in Buraneer
  13. Ok, First COTM Prize from Roadrunner is going out to Mike today. A GME AE346V 1.8M VHF Aerial so he can radio on those marks to the rest of us. Congrats Mike
  14. It is a tough market, and has been now for a couple of years. Sales are lower and margins are getting squeezed. Web sales, eBay, etc make it tough to run store fronts and sales staff, particularly with Multi-Store operations.
  15. Talk to Gary, Brickman, Outriggers Direct. he is a sponsor on here, has a great deal for Raiders on Outriggers, and has 5 sets left at a really great deal.
  16. You will get better distance with a larger aerial. The higher the tip of the aerial the better. We are a GME distributor, so feel free to contact us
  17. Hi Kel, I would want 5W, the GME units are switchable 5/1W. Remember that with a Handheld, you only have a small aerial, so you have already reduced your coverage. The other thing I would look at is battery power, the larger the rating the longer it will hold a charge for. The latest GME units, are full floating and flashing. If you want more info / pricing etc, give us a call. http://www.gme.net.au/products/radio-communications/vhf-handhelds/GX850
  18. Which antenna have you matched with it and where is it mounted...........make sure your squelch is turned right down. Recheck your antenna connections.....most likely Where abouts are you testing the unit?
  19. At 4.30pm yesterday we had to request Marine Rescue to make 3 phone calls for us, as we had set up that would be back in by 5.30pm latest.....but we werent giving up on that fish. I have to say a really big thank you to Sydney Marine Rescue, all 3 calls were placed. Awesome guys. As I finished the call, a boat asked if we could copy them and relay a message to SMR for them they were 5kms east of Heatons and ok. The next we heard of them was at 8pm when we were at the marina, SMR was in contact with them, and concerned, asking if they had enough fuel, and people were worried about them, heard SMR confirm an eta back in of 2200. Just want to check if you guys are on Fishraider, was everything ok?
  20. Yes our thanks to Dave from Sideshow, that was extremely graceful of you for the marks. We were call sign Angharad.....but most of the time Adrian was calling as 2 C's. We were at the Southern Canyons when the reports started coming through. We debated whether to stay or run up, our plan was to troll from The Canyons to Browns, we unamiously decided we were out there to catch fish, so we retreived all the lines and ran up. Pete yesterday it didnt seem to matter too much, late yesterday afternoon, there was calls coming through of hookups, on stick baits, cubing and one being taken on a popper! We were trolling Skirts, and divers, had one hit on a diver early in the afternoon that unfortunately popped a crimp. We eased off with Skirts, whilst we heated pies in the microwave, and made fresh coffee with the Nespresso.......hey life's tough. Then got serious again, went through the tackle and rigged 2 new divers up. So we had a spread of 4 lines and a teaser out. 2 Skirts and 2 Divers. All 4 went off, only one held and that was the one of the divers. There was a lot of boats on those marks yesterday, around 2pm, i would have estimated 30-60. However there was fish elsewhere, there was reports of fish being taken at Heatons, and around 3.30pm reports on the Southern Canyons of it going right off. Unfortunatley there were boats that didnt hookup, thats fishing.
  21. I'm now logged in from work............Jim answered what I would have said perfectly. There are 2 choices VSR or DC to DC charger, we have been recomending the DC to DC charger on vehicles running high house loads over the last 2 years rather than VSR's as some of the newer vehicle charge systems just do not cope with 2 batteries. What I personally did with my last trailer boat, was fit a VSR, have all house loads connected to the Deep Cycle, Start kept as pure start, with the redundancy available to start off the Deep Cycle. I also set up a C-Tek charger in the garage, and ran 12V wiring out to the boat with a waterproof plug on the boat. Basically the while ever the boat was not in use, the batteries were being monitored by the charger. They were always 100% when I headed out
  22. I dont know of anything, that I would be comfortable enough with being constantly dunked in Saltwater and possibly pressure washed. Their are a couple of relatively cheap kits around now that pair with a smart phone. This is one we have access to, http://www.tcag.com.au/products.html?p=21853 at this stage i have not personally seen it or handled it. IP67, is for immersion 15cm - 1m. Particularly if you only want it for the trailer, to me it means you dont have a screen taking up space on the dash when not using, and would presume you would have your phone on you.
  23. Rhino also do a self load option for sedans etc, clips onto the side. Have a look at the youtube clip
  24. The heat shrink joiners are by far your best joining for the trailer wiring. We stock them as well as the LED lights. We have a variety of LED Lights designed for boat trailers, including units with 6M of tinned cable, which places the joins out of the water, we also have a complete pluggable sealed unit right up to the plug. Send us an email or give us a call if you would like more info.
  25. If your interested we have an LED solution, with full plug in sealed wiring, from the lights all th way to the trailer plug, tinned wiring etc, 5 year warranty and probably far cheaper than all the time you are spending tearing your hair out and replacing bits and pieces. Give us a call or send a pm if you want more info
