  1. Hey everyone I was in bate bay thismorning and was pulling these two fish one after the other, I havent seen them and have no idea. Cheers
  2. Lake CONJOLA is the same at sunset there busting up and jumping and there decent size.. Makes me sooooooo angry the time and baits and lures I've used trying to hook one , whole school swims straight past them not even looking slightly interested
  3. Sorry im talking of a fiberglass cruise craft model reef raider
  4. 1990 is old but there is older out there, So long as the glass has been looked after it may be alright you can get a pro to test it ,
  5. Hey mate The old man had a 2005 bayliner 185 bow rider Capri with the big motor for wakeboarding a few years ago , sure you can throw a rod out of them but if your going to do a serious days fishing it would be hard. With the back to back seats and rear lounge or sun bed there is absolute minimum room in the rear. 4 people and two wake boards jackets and towels and she was fair full on an 18.5 ft boat. If adults are in the bow the nose so low not so bad with kids tho but still we got caught in the harbour when she blew up and had to trim so it was full nose up and drag the arse through the water, don't get me wrong there a great boat and a beautiful ride and I loved it for the watersports and cruising but not a good fishing boat , keeping in mind this is just my opinion though everyone has different views, Currently I have a 5.2 sefarer viking ( cuddy ) and the room in the boat is amazing four people can fish three more comfortable and I can use the hp to tow a tube and cruise if I want . Great hull nice deep v that cuts through the chop , if looking at a fishing boat have a look at cuddys or similar quinnies! Quintrex make the freedom sport which like the bayliner are bow riders and are a decent alrounder and sit a bit higher and can handle a bit more chip, Cheers jake
  6. Can't miss me paddling up the lake! Was that or nothing so mums caneo it is! Haha
  7. 97 cms is a croc! I'm out again today chasing those big girls! 90cm to 1m flatty is a bucket list fish for most anglers id imagine
  8. I had originally planned to head out from ulladulla harbour but this wasn't to be! Friday arvo boat on the back I shoot off from work in good spirit heading for lake Conjola but as I hit dapto I got pulled over by highway patrol! Turns out my trailer isn't regoed and hasn't been since may!!! Now I have only just got the boat a month ago and was waiting for the dealer to send the trailer papers but said good to go it's all regoed it's sweet! It os so sweet I got a 700 buck fine! And told to leave my trailer there... Dreaming I towed it home making some phone calls to the dealer who is now sorting it all out Anyway after that I got down the coast late at night after going back home and down again! Only option of fishing the lake is in the family's hot pink caneo! Brilliant ! So today I was drifting the sand bars flicking a 4 inch minnow chasing flatties hour go by with nothing then I move to the main channel and wack I'm on and it's heavy! Up swims a nice and really fat flatty! Problem being that I was so confident I would catch nothing I don't have a net do I!! So option was to paddle across to the shore! Through the old oyster lease so my heart was in my throat during that. Safe to land and it's a 64 cm fat flathead and a pb for me by like 20 cms! Stoked ! She was released and swam away fine . Paddle over to where I caught the big one and first cast and first rip up and I hook a 38 cm flattie. Also released! Good to see the lakes lizards are coming back and on the bite I hope this means my soft plastic game is improving or was it the luck of the hot pink caneo!!! Out again tomorrow to see what I can hook Cheers jake
  9. Very informative and amazing to know what they are capable of! Thanks for putting it on fishraider team and sponsors
  10. Sweet thanks paikea, I was hoping your reply as I know your a local there with great knowledge Yep 85 model 5.2 Viking with a 95 135 merc. Great boat I absolutely love it handed the swell and chop well, I saw In an old post that you had one ! I love what you did with fiberglassing the transom and a door in it .
  11. Also is the boat ramp on the south side of the harbour available to the public? Or the north sode any good ? As I'm launching solo I'll need a decent jetty to dock to whilst I park the car!
  12. Thanks mutt that's a great top to line them up ! I saw your post ! Seems you had a great feed on the table In bate bay in sydney I usually run a two hook set up with a snapper sinker on the bottom when drifting I think I'll use the same set up! I heard squid produced near the headland a so I may try. Look for the weed beds on the way in! Cheers!
  13. Thanks for the reply paikea! At present I think the forecast is 0.7 swell with an easterly breeze.. Although that can change but I hope the seas remain under 1 metre But the boat can handle the rough stuff. I'm defiantly chasing a feed of flattys ! Hope there not playing hard to find! The island to have a go at some reef species if I have time sounds like a great idea thanks! Cheers jake
  14. Hoping for some wise tips as I'm Heading south potentially and will hopefully if weather remains good head out from ulladulla, I've read old posts about flathead drifts to the south out near tabourie but am wondering what's been happening lately?? . Undecided weather to go south or north and fish off green island, or straight out maybe into 20-70 m of water First time out from down there Cheers
  15. Great day on the water today, Last night I tilted the transducer down one notch and whilst doing it I felt a oily film on it. I think it was fuel or something so I cleaned it all off and today for the first time it was working fine!
  16. By normal I mean back to playing up
  17. Thanks Huey I'll do that now and raise it a bit. Pick wouldn't effect it whilst drifting or anchored would it? Because even at ancor is rubbish I've put on simulator and it's fine like in a shop. But turn it off and back to mornal
  18. This is my boats rear end with the transducer
  19. So a reset because it maybe internal in the unit itself? I'll swap everything to the memory card before hand if I reset
  20. Yep no worries I will post one thisarvo..
  21. Hey all , I'm chasing some opinions for the problem I'm having with my sounder! And can I say the fishraider members lowrance night can't come quicker! I have only had my lowrance elite 7 hds for a few months and was previously on my old boat and worked ok but I got the shop to transfer it over to my new boat and it won't work problem being that the depth reading plays up some times it's fine and some times it says it's for example 0.6 metres deep when it's 4m plus! Also the display in the screen is an absolute mess shows no bottom no water depths nothing, it's extremely poor and just a big blur of colour like what the bottom looks like on a working one but it's my whole screen!! I tightened the transducer mount and made sure it was positioning correctly (YouTube showed me !) and not pointing down . Connections seem fine I will check again for the 100th time tomorrow or do I reset it ! I'll try put a pic up to show you when I take the boat out, just worked out one issue with the boat and now I'm trying to deal with this.. Don't you just love boats! Cheers jake
  22. Mate great fish! That's one fat bass!! Would have been a good fight
