  1. Wicked ! Good to get the new gear out, I pick up my new boat in a week so I hope they are there waiting Hah. Good work fellas
  2. Yeah haven't seen all that many post reports on salmon catches apart from the of bi catch
  3. Well I have had a mate sit in the boot and hold my good ol tinny trailer because we realised the old mans car had no tow bar... Mind you that was at my caravan park which was dead quiet and 50 metres from tinny storage to water!! How can people drive on public roads like this!!
  4. A lot of hassle for an older boat. Why not pick up a finished boat and newer for the price you'd spend fixing that up ( Huey's boat) Having said that fiddling around with boats iand making them yours is great fun!

    Roof top tinny

What a set up! Not enough tow bars so why not throw it on the roof hey' Helipad on the bonnet I say
  6. I'm thinking an old pride jaguar.. Dont quote me that's just my guess Googled some pics and the older boats look a bit similar.
  7. I'm interested. Misses can drive the boat off instead of standing on the dock watching
  8. Yeah very true with that weight being pulled up il be puffing! Thanks a lot for your input helps a lot !
  9. Sweet as thanks guys ! The boat has a 4 prong reef anchor with about 2 meters of chain As for sand I think I'll lean toward 13 lbs with 5 meters of 10mm chain.. Also I think may be wise to get a lesser anchor with less chain for calmer situations and all at crissy when the boats moored off te bank I can use the two front and back! Thanks heaps for the replies really cleared it up!! Prng anchor for reefs I have never used .. Once down in the reef how would you retrieve ? My view is they hold on the rocks so pulling would prove ineffective ??? So would you drive around and get it up the oppisite way to where you were anchored and sitting in the current if you get me??
  10. I've recently purchased a seafarer viking 5.2 and am looking for a suitable achor, My understanding is that chain length should be roughly the length of the boat as a rule of thumb ( correct me if wrong) but as for a suitable weighted anchor I wouldn't have a clue what's best . Thinking 10 to 13 lbs ??? No idea Any advice would be great ! Cheers Stanton
  11. If only they filmed him attemp to drive off
  12. I was there last weekend checking it out to see if it would be suitable for my seafarer viking with duel axel trailer.. Not 30 seconds of being there I already knew there was absolute no chance what so ever near low tide and I'd assume difficult at high due to my trailer being custom for mainly drive on work and the sand would be a challenging factor .As paddy said a great shame as I found the area to be an excellent ramp area with toilets good parking and great staging areas with taps ! Would be great if government could get together and overcome these problems
  13. Sounds like you boys had a great day even if the weather was a bit threatening ! Solid fight on a kingy with 2500 reel. Keep smashing it guys
  14. Mateeeeee! They are some solid squid ! That's unreal!! And a nice feed of flatties too! Awesome job!! I'd love to get squid like that!
  15. I was at kurnell this morning and the bay looked lovely! A few boats out from what I saw if only my boat wasn't in the shop haha Just good being on the water and getting into it! And hey under size is better than no fish!
  16. All methods I used were at grays point also
  17. Mate take a few hours and drive to some boat ramps and see some methods being used first hand, it's what I did and helped a lot! The old Ski boat I used a bow line with long rope With the old 4.3 tinny I simply pushed off and beached if possible cause it was so light the new 5.2 glass boat I have I get in power the motor in forward lean over the bow to undo the straps and chains ( motor in forward holds the boat ) then simple back off. Trailer set up and depth come into it but you'll pick it up quick and find what best suits you Most boaties are patient when your on your own,
  18. Heartbreaking but can only blame myself
  19. Good job mate! You always come home with a good feed, love the reports
  20. Thanks for the reply mate !! Biggest fail of a day, I had my NEW shimano rod and reel in the car with the rod tip out the window when I pulled up out of habit I put the windows up and heard a crunch and saw my new rod snapped In half! Went home to sit and feel sorry for myself haha :'(
  21. Hey guys I'm currently in the process of changing over into a new boat and it's been 48 hours without a boat and I'm a wreck already! So because of this I'm thinking of doing some soft plastic practice as it really could do with some hours practice that's for sure!! I'm thinking walking along the picnic point sandy beaches for a flick. Maybe up to Brighton I really dont know How has the georges been fishing land based and any tips if possible? Thanks guys
