  1. Bunnings have some bungie type cord that you can cut up and turn into leashes. That is what I have done.
  2. Thx for the tip w4z. Will give it a go. Have been looking around for an anchor for a while now
  3. That is pretty cool. I have been trying for over a year and only managed a legal tailor! Live bait is the way to go... Clearly!
  4. Hi. Suggest you lose the long shank and go for much smaller hooks. I find that the ones used for black fish have worked for me. Good luck
  5. I think that is a great idea! Thanks for setting this up
  6. Welcome. You have done pretty well with the feeds each trip. I am envious Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  7. Good work there. Very useful for me as you showed that berleying was quite important.... Whilst everyone says it, I have never seen it in action from a yak Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  8. Have used this one and the witches hat version. Had more luck with the witches hats. Although I haven't seen them sold anywhere recently. Have used fish frames eg. Yellow tail or other. Secured with cable tie. Good luck with it. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  9. That's pretty cool. I'll be giving trolling a go on the 5th. Have hired a boat and am hopeful that I will have some fish to show for it!
  10. I would love to come along and see how others go about their fishing. Just need to get some wet suit bottoms.... Cos I am also a bit of a sook
  11. Thanks for the tips. Will try next time I get out in the yak
  12. Good catch. Do you worry about loosing tackle casting into oyster outcrops? And do you loose a lot. That tends to worry me so I don't get close enough.
  13. That is a good session. Well done.
  14. Awesome session, well done.
  15. Thanks all. Was well looked after over the weekend. It was geeat meeting crazy fellow fishers angela
  16. Straw prawns haven't been successful yet... Have been trying to use SP's so have been otherwise distracted
  17. Went out middle of the day. Flicked SP's, tried prawn bait and also did some trawling. Not even a nibble. There were some wind gusts which made it a bit unpleasant. But a nice day to be on the water. Amazing how little water traffic there is on a weekday! So much less intimidating ! . Still didn't have the guts to wander out to sow and pigs though...
  18. Land based fishers I have seen use floats with red lights. Use trace. good luck. Note: that place gets way too crowded. But worth stopping by to see what people are doing.
  19. There is a national park collection booth near akuna bay. You will find a park that gets locked up at night. So don't park in there. But just near there you will see a land based spot that always has people fishing.... Look for parking around there or just outside the park. You can't miss the spot.
  20. Pp is one of my fave movies!!!!
  21. Thanks for the tips. Ended up heading to the movies to watch pitch perfect 2! Might try and launch from Clifton tomorrow. Wind looks like it will die down a hit then
  22. Should have said... After flathead, bream, tailor or salmon.... But really just after some time in the sun
  23. So I have taken 2 days off for my birthday. Figured I could get out either land based or on the kayak for a fish. Looks nice and sunny but quite windy... Any ideas for fishing spots in these kinds of conditions? I am in the Chatswood area so keen to stay up north. Thanks for the suggestions
  24. Fantastic. How long did u have to fight it for before u got it on board?
  25. I checked it out last weekend. There was a sailing regatta on so it was really crowded. But it was impressive watching them pull the sailing boats up that steep ramp. There is 4hr parking nearby but would need to drop off the yak first. Was the gate locked when u went Gianni?
