  1. Can't wait Claudia - hope you quizzed your customers on the best places to fish for those jews, although I have a few X and Y spots myself! Now Ross don't be shy - we will be launching at Mooney Mooney. Hope we end up with some great tales to tell. Cheers Marg
  2. Earth is going on what .... done good you all did - says my little green jedi with pointy ears and tears now streaming down face. Are you sure you guys aren't trying that blackfish weed????? It's nice to feel loved/missed. My faithful friend is back but not completely fixed. I truly haven't known what to do with myself and have had great FR withdrawals. Managed to go online for a split second at work to contact Mrs Watto. Looking forward to a day out GIRL POWER STYLE, however, the tides aren't on the school hours side - fingers crossed. Seems to be a few posts on those wonderful jews, hope we are all in luck. Well done Boofhead - LOVE the pics - most impressed. P.S. Claudia I've packed the karaoke microphone! Cheers Marg
  3. Maybe I'm spending too much time down there!!!
  4. Well done on your catch - a 60cm flatties' excellent.
  5. Happy Mothers Day to you Stumpy but what's with the BIG M ... a girl could get paranoid! I was actually thinking of you guys as well, longing to be out there Friday night but with early morning soccer and 3 boys playing within 10 minutes of each other in 3 different locations, decided to save the fishing for Saturday/Sunday. Sorry to hear the girls were at each other - if only the fish had been on that would have distracted them. The moon must play a big part in whether they are on or not - a month ago I had the same trouble with regards to no visability and worst of all... no bites/fish. Last night heading back into Apple Tree Bay it was pitch black ... typically the flood lights down there came on when we were out of the water and preparing the boat to head home. Good to see you out with the girls though - I know Jess is pretty keen. You'll have to behave yourself now that she is a FR member! Cheers Marg P.S. Those FR beanies are really warm.
  6. At first I thought the footage looked like that taken by a peeping tom - just as well I now know you as a lovable character (no offence intended). I think you should have dubbed "Smoke On The Water" by Deep Purple as background music, as it sure would have been appropriate. I don't suppose that was shot at the entrance of Smiths Creek? Cheers Marg
  7. EXCELLENT POST and well done on the PB's - what an awesome experience to be soooo successful. I'm a little concerned to hear that Dan had a chilli pie when he's had a resent Doctor's appointment which required a soft cushion!!!
  8. CONGRATULATIONS - was that on a plastic? Bet that made your Mother's Day - must have been by using a PINK yo zuri!
  9. Secretly I was hoping for a jew as I took my family to where I've had the most luck, unfortunately, we only had prawns but nothing was biting at all on the Saturday evening. Each jewie that's been caught on board has been via a prawn anyway but I must make the time to use my squid jig and go from there. Thanks Ceph - you do love your squid don't you. I'm planning to one day concentrate on the mullet, as there are always huge fish flying around down there. Bread and a float, that's all I need isn't it?
  10. Thanks Boofhead - I don't think I've ever had a bad experience on the river as each time I hit that water it puts a smile on my face and even when the fish aren't on, I'd go back and do it all again the next day. You know there are lots of holiday rentals on the Hawkesbury with most supplying a tinnie - maybe you could look at doing that with your family one time - just check out the local Hawkesbury real estate. Just a thought. Happy fishing. Marg
  11. Headed off for a late dusk fish on Saturday at Bar Point with 2 out of 3 kids plus hubby. Past the Stumpies who were heading home only to get a call from Mrs Stumpy advising me to not bother with fishing as no one was catching anything - fisheries were at Parsley Bay recording fisho's catches but there wasn't much to report only from those that went outside - told Jo I'd like to prove them wrong. Anyways, Jo was right - the fish weren't actually on but we had a ball - enjoyed happy hour at Bar Point then ventured onto the railway bridges. No fish but lots of excitement for my 7 & 11 year olds when the trains went over the bridge with their lights lighting up the tunnel. It was such a mild starry night on the water MOTHERS DAY Did the family thing with the in-laws but took the boat with us. Headed off to Apple Tree Bay around 2ish for my Mother's Day Fish (as that's all I wanted to do with my boys). Nothing fantastic to report but got lots of little bream and taylor which kept the boys happy. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY RAIDERS.
  12. Sounds good - might have to venture out there.
  13. What's the go with the 25th at Watto's?
  14. Magic stuff - gotta love the river.
  15. Well done Ross - at first I thought this post must have been an advertisement for WATTO's fabulous products!!! I really must get out there one day ... Watto's that is. Nice report - it was excellent reading of your good fisho fortune - you really do deserve it! Any pics or video? Cheers Marg
  16. WELL DONE STUMPY ... that wouldn't be you getting cranky??? I was very impressed with your multi tasking skills. Nice Bonito. Well done Flightmanager with the video. Wonder where you were on the Hawkesbury - the water looked so smooth. Cheers Marg
  17. DITO - I totally relate!
  18. I don't think you can go wrong if you drift around bar point or fish at the railway bridges - other than that there's always Juno where it drops away at the point. P.S. At this rate we might have to share rods as my boat's not that big to accommodate such a keen crew!
  19. Great first report and I love the pics. I bet in a week's time you'll wonder what you did before discovering this website, as it is extremely addictive to read each day - it's such a mix of fishing adventures (good, bad and ugly). If you are after info on anything fishy try the search engine at the top of the screen - I didn't realise it was there for the first few weeks after joining as I was concentrating on the "Fishing Reports", but this website has so much info available to members you just need to check it all out by exploring each section. Look forward to reading your next adventure. Cheers Marg
  20. Awesome - that sounds like fun - might have to come down your way and have a go! I love how you describe your posts - you can picture every moment. Well done. Cheers Thelma or is that Louise!! (aka Marg)
  21. That's hilarious Claudia!
  22. MAYBE NOT DRAG FISHING BUT MAYBE WE COULD HAVE A DRAG RACE ON THE RIVER ROSS???
  23. Excellent Claudia I'll be in touch closer to the date. Fingers crossed the tide and weather will be on our side. Can't wait to post that story! Cheers Marg P.S. Ross you crack me up.
  24. Quinfish is a good one to PM as this is one of his spots - remember he caught an anchor fish there recently!!! If you decide to throw an anchor use a reef one.
