  1. What glorious weather we are having - I highly recommend hitting the water if you haven't already. Took my neighbour/friend out on her maiden voyage of the Hawkesbury to aim for flatties during school hours, we put the boat in at Mooney Mooney and eventually had some luck at Bar Point. The result of the day fish was: Anne - unfortunately all undersized 1 whiting 2 bream 1 flathead Marg - kept the 36cm + flounder 2 flatties (35cm + 36cm) 1 flounder 1 catfish (yuk) Who could resist heading out yet again to enjoy that spectacular moon (considering the boat was still hitched to the car) ... so Mrs Stumpy eagerly joined me to aim for something really big under the moonlight. We put the boat in at Parsley Bay then headed straight for Juno - to the surprise of Mr Stumpy and Flightmanager who were also there or was that . Our catch during the tide change was: MRS STUMPY 1 huge squid Many Tailor MGIBBO 40cm Soapie (C&R) Many Tailor Now with Jo's squid which we did net but I unfortunately lost whilst putting it in a safe place - how bad does one feel when you lose someone else's catch! Anyways nothing to bring home but a great time had by all. We bid farewell to Stumpy and Flightmanager who were heading off to Flint & Steel for the night - we truly hope they had a successful fish as they hadn't caught anything whilst we were there. Cheers Marg
  2. SURPRISE VISIT AT JUNO - Flight Manager and The Stumpies
  3. Cool Jess - we're heading out to surprise them. Wonder what your Dad is going to think when Mrs Stumpy turns up .... mum's the word!
  4. Well done Jess and to posting on FR. Your flathead was a beauty. I look forward to reading your future fishing adventures with Father and Mother Stumpy. Love Marg
  5. Excellent shots Dave. I'd hate to agree with Stumpy but I must say it does actually look like a penguin - it's pretty big for a puffer - quite cute really. Cheers Marg
  6. Ah Stumpy you are such a trouble maker!!! Seen any penguins lately??? oops sorry different post. Keep smiling......Marg
  7. Cool - you captured two of my boys as well, although I didn't realise that they were dressed for both climates ... bordies and jackets??? Thanks for the photos - excellent shots. Cheers Marg
  8. Nice meeting you as well Roberta - it's so good that the names on FR now have identities. RE: Pics - have you tried to resize by right clicking on the photo, select a size then select the reduced photo to add to the post. Just select the first size at it's the best for viewing - in this post I selected the last size as I had lots of photos to add, however, they came out extremely small and hard to view. Hope this helps. Hope to catch up again - unfortunately we have something on for the Forster weekend - but maybe at a workshop or future social. Cheers Marg
  9. Well if you ever need company!!!
  10. There was about 7 boats at browns.3 large ones and the rest trailer boats.Saw afew boats bottom fishing. What size boat was he on?.Sounds like he got some good fish too.Any pics? HERE'S MY NEIGHBOUR - they were driving an inboard and I think there might have been about 3 on board.
  11. Hi Ross - Dido re: pleasure to meet you. As for the next one, the venue was great as it wasn't far from Sydney, was right on the water and that BBQ area was ideal. Well done. Look forward to reading your future posts. Cheers Marg
  12. COOOOOOOOL! Hope Stumpy doesn't get wind of this idea.
  13. Awesome Murray - when are we all going on a road trip to visit your Dad??? Any good camping spots?
  14. Yeah guys, we definitely recommend attending a fishraider social - the people who own it, run it, belong to it and attend these events are wonderful. I'm positive no one felt out of place and it was great to put a face to the raider names. I think that's the beauty of this website, you don't have to be a pro fisher, as all posts cater for a variety of fishing styles and talents - the one thing we no doubt have in common is the eagerness to fish. What a great way for us to all learn and socialise at the same time. It was wonderful to see such encouragement that Raiders gave to the kids - they were all geared up for the weekend fishing challenge and thrilled with their fantastic show bag of fishing goodies. My kids definitely learnt a lot and are keen to head to the beach for some beach fishing. The Fishraider team were so generous providing a hot breaky each morning - it was just such a generous and enlightening weekend. WELL ORGANISED FLIGHTMANAGER! Thank you.
  15. Excellent catch - bet they felt good to reel in! Cheers Marg
  16. Well done on your report - with all the consistent posts on KINGY's and being a novice in both catching this breed and the waterways in your part of the world - watching your video was brilliant. Thanks for sharing it with us. ALL THE BEST FOR THE ARRIVAL OF YOUR NEW BUB - it really is a life changing experience. Cheers Marg
  17. Murray was it Ross & you or just YOU who drank the 1.5 case of VB?
  18. Hey Murray - I thought you were having problems with your eyes when they started to glaze over!!! but then again, that might have been from flightmanager dreamingly speaking about his new baby for the ???? time! Gotta love him - I totally appreciated his friendliness (in the old fashion way). RE: Bec / Nick ... you bet ya! These socials might be like the old blue light disco's - only joking - I totally recommend it as great family fun.
  19. Brilliant catch - well done - shame we didn't catch up with you - maybe next time. Cheers Marg
  20. Well done - excellent catch - we were starting to wonder if there were any good sized fish in the lake but you proved it. We just wish we'd taken our beach rods as it was hard to fish at the beach with the gear we had .... next time! Love the photo - the lake was like glass on the Saturday - postcard material. Cheers Marg
  21. AWESOME JO. Love the pics - always a great way to tell a story. You know Steve and I were also up with Stumpy, Rzep and Flight Manager - we hit the sack at 1.30am and occasionally visited by #1 Flightmanager Son, Dan and Fishing+guitar+heaven. It's great that the rain only came down during those wee hours of the morning. We now know where the hot spots are to fish up there. Congrats to Bec for receiving a raider's pendant and for Jess for landing a great flattie. Until next time. Marg P.S. Thanks swordfisherman - you certainly have assessed us well and by attending the social we now know that we aren't the only ones who are experiencing this obsession. What a great therapy session!
  22. Lots of photos coming your way Jo - just emailed.
  23. We must have been out cold Claudia - if we'd heard you I'm sure we would have joined you. Nice to meet you all as well and I definitely will know where the party is when you arrive! Will keep an eye out for Watto's BBQ!!!!! RE: Stumpy / Flightmanager - love the prayer! Very clever I look forward to our next fishing adventure.
  24. Here's Bec (Stumpette). Certainly makes you want to get back there with the right gear!
  25. Congratulations Peita! Cheers The Gibbo's
