No dramas, its what I am getting!!! If not the trophy hornet series are fitted out well. If your bduget is really tight and you dont mind tiller have a look at the 420 Busta, these models are a tinny fitted out with a deck and casting platform.

As frank said, casting lures towards the shore goes well, pick up tailor and kingys if your lucky. Broken bay is very diverse and its fishing spots range. A good spot is inbetween the heads, depth of 20 meters and greater. Drift with a patanosta with either pillies or frozen squid. Always guarinteed a flatty. Just take note as sometimes you dont always know your on. Trolling around lion island works a treat. Also the passage upstream from juno point has a few flats producing good whiting and flathead. Use prawns and a running rig. If you get the right tide and day. Anchor under the bridge, running rig with full pilly hooked and set your drag to a good run pressure. Haha yeh I hear ya. I have a lot of 'mates' but sometimes its the fact of having a 'mate' onboard. I hate going outside by my self and if I cant get anyone genuine keen I am left to take out my 'mates'. I mean no one likes going off shore by them selves.

I have learned not to take specific mates fishing who 'um and arrr' about early starts, always give you the old 'i dont know what im doing yet' (I hate this answer, its instant disprespect because you are making an offer giving them something to do. Either yes or no), free loaders and never chip in for fuel, never help wash the boat and they all bring their own tackle boxes and peice of sh#$ rods and it just gets in the way. My advice, find that one fishing buddy with his own boat and take him because he knows the pain and suffering and fish with him. Or dont own a boat and become a moocher

Well in the grand scheme of things, Quintrex has been focusing on Small alluminium tinnys and runabouts for the last 70 years, they really only have opened the door on the larger 6+ full cab series. Bigger boat required further engineering and expertise which Quintrex is only waking up to see. I am not saying that the bigger boats are crap, I wish I had one. Just saying that they have perfected the smaller boats and still are learning with the bigger ones.

Quintrex Renegade 420 S.C will get you going for under 25k. For around that much you should be able to get one with a 4 banger, Bow mount plate and motor, Painted and bimini.

You now have a nice step you can use to get in the boat

Mate the all the Quintrex runabouts through the years are great boats off shore, they handle like a dream as well

Mate I pick flat head up between the heads. Head to a depth of 60ft and drift. Patanosta and squid youll be set. I usually get bigger flattys at 100 ft.

This is why I ordered my new quintrex unpainted. Alot of people say that painted holds resale value but I beg to differ becasue when the paint bubbles people assume the worst and try knock you down in price without under standing that paint is subject to fair wear and tare.

Well I am kind of boatless at the moment, well I have a tinny with a 15hp but trailer needs to be registered as its hand made. My real boat is sold. Thinking of heading down to Nords wharf on friday arvo with the MRS, maybe get some fish and chips for dinner (recommendations please) and have a flick of the wharf. Date night JA style!!!!! How has it been fishing lately, anything decent around? I havnt fished there in about 8 years.

In the hawksbury you are aloud to pull up at any beach as far as I know, I used to camp at spring beach years ago until one morning I was awoken by several kids. I got told I couldnt stay there no longer by the people who run the camp as it is managed by them. Depending how long you are staying on the beach and how heavy your boat you could maybe park the nose. I usually let people off then anchor the boat about 5 meters from the beach and just wade to shore. I have seen people run to anchors one at the bow and transom when they leave there boats parked overnight.

From my experience, I had a 455 Quintrex escape with a 50hp Johnson 2 stroke, She was perfect for all my styles of fishing. I have taken her off shore to Broughton island, Montague island and Bird Island with a few people on board. Handles really well. I would be hesitant for browns but only because I know that off shore waters can change very quickly. But check your weather and bring common sense you will be fine. Agree with the Hilux all though does not have to be a current model lol

Good news!!!! The what-a-mess has been sold, and I have ordered my new 420 Renegade S.C with a 40hp Merc 4 banger. Bad news though it may not be ready until after christmas......Good thing I have my little tinny with a 15hp Johnno on it. Thats if i get desperate, I have alot of renovations on at the moment. I am unsure what I will name her yet but was thinking along the lines of the 'Bass Hole' or the 'Master Baiter'

I have caught heaps of them at Norah head and around Lion Island. Pests like Red Rock Cod, I dont care what anyone says about how good they taste I hate red rock cod, there easy too and predictable too catch and I am very scared of touching them lol Oh and wrasse are annoying lol
