  1. If you are short in numbers I can assist, but my roster doesn't give me much free time, let me know what you need and I'll help out as much as possible.
  2. As for the windang meet, didn't happen I think, never got any notice as to where to meet etc. Spent the morning getting line wrapped around pylons at the gravel loader by some unplayful kings.
  3. Is this thesis aimed at Australian born Asians or Immigrated Asians? Or does it target both?
  4. Don't think anything has been organised. Haven't heard from the organiser since the initial interest. Weather doesn't look promising, hopefully it holds off as I might just hit Port or Gravel loader if the meet doesn't happen.
  5. Shellharbour boat ramp break wall, gravel loader at bass point. Sunrise and Sunset.
  6. Yeah. Any source of light wil do, I just find that uv lights do it just a little faster.
  7. Just get the appropriate sized glow stick for your fishing needs. Or buy glow in the dark beads that you charge with a UV torch and have them under the float stop. I usually do the beads if fishing for smaller fish as its cheap, effective but time consuming if the fish are on the bite. Charging the beads costs fishing time.
  8. Hairies at Port? That's a first, I've fished that point good on 20 years now and have not come across them there ever. Usually unweighted pilchards on gang hooks targeting tailor so if they were there I would have hooked one at least once in the 20 years. What do they look like on the sounder? Might have a night session floating about on the point and target them instead of the tailors and Jews during winter.
  9. He means that the place is always full and people fish like mad there......mad as in rules do not apply ? As for fishing Shellharbour for bigger fish, I'm assuming you are land based so here goes. Windang break walls (channel entry), Windang island (next to the break walls), Shellharbour boat ramp (rock point), under the gravel loader (at Bass Point entry gate), Bass point (drive through gate to the end and park, there are 3 options to rock fish here, the popular one is usually packed), the farm over at Killalea (this one is a secret spot of mine so no info as to where exactly to fish ?). The beaches are also a good go if you beach fish.
  10. Krause planning to check out the waters over at the gravel loader down near bass point?
  11. 13th good here also, 6th is no good, got a wedding.
  12. Someone else is trying to org a meet down at lake Illawarra, maybe get the two of you to combine and get the ball rolling ?
  13. Vietnam, came over as a refugee back in 79. Do the Vietnamese "Canh chua ca", basically sour fish soup as translated but it's actually a sweet and sour soup. Add chillis to make it authentic so it becomes a hot, sweet and sour soup. Soup is clear or milky depending on added ingredients and can be make with heads and frames or if you are rich, the whole fish. Great served with rice, drown the rice with the soup and heap on the ingredients. Eat with a soup spoon ? Ingredients I love with my soup is Pineapples (sweet) Tamarind (sour) Birdseye chillis (hot), Okra, tomatoes, bean sprouts, elephant ear stems (replace with celery if you can't find). Spring onions finely chopped and coriander finely chopped as topping. Goes well with any seafood, chicken wings, and any other white meat.
  14. Eat Fish heads and Frames, it'll make you smart. Asian kids are always looked to when the teacher asks who the smartest kid in class is. Asian kids grow up eating fish soup made from fish heads and frames as they were generally poor and fish heads and frames were thrown out by fish mongers so they were practically free. Asian kids got sick and tired of hot and sour soups (Vietnamese style is the best!) made from from fish heads and frames so they studied their asses off in hopes of never having to eat the poor mans soup ever again. Studies show that if you force your child to eat the same shit day in and day out they'll study harder and earn big dollars so they will never have to suffer again. So don't throw out your fish frames, shove em down your child's throat all the while repeating the phrase "You wanna eat good food? Get good grades" I was one of them Asian kids and I got good grades. * The story in this ad are loosely based on actual real life experiences * We do not condone child abuse, please contact your local authorities in regards to the child abuse laws in your city * Studies were compiled from 100 Asian adults who grew up eating seafood but were not necessarily from poor backgrounds, some were filthy rich. * Consumption of heads and bones of fish may result in varying degrees of intellectual improvements and we do not garuantee results similar to those in Asian people.
  15. Yak is located down Illawarra way so if the meet does not clash with roster I'll be able to make it.
  16. Naw not a trailer, it a rear T load bar that helps load kayaks onto cars.....pain in the backside with the FJ but the outlander is small so would work well. Shame you don't have a towball. As for storage for the Yak, roof sling best option, keeps it out of sight from sticky hands and is very convenient when it's time to do some maintenance, modifications and general cleaning.
  17. Got a towball? I have an RTL001 sitting about the garage that I can offload if you are interested. Upgraded to a NKL so no longer need the RTL001.
  18. Dudddeee.....yeah just duuuudddeee!!!!
  19. Which car is the kayak trolley?
  20. 5 days off and so far only been able to load the Yak onto the FJ. Was planning to hit the water today but it started pelting down when I woke up.......atleast the Yak is getting a wash ?
  21. How'd the meet go? I'm so itching to hit the water after a month long dry spell. Can't wait for my 5 day weekend ?.
  22. You're down Wollongong way a lot, should just take the Yak down there. Lake Illawarra has plenty of them about and you can also paddle into the creeks for Bream and bird watching ?
  23. Hall Pass denied, got bloody son's childcare friends bday parties to attend.......4 in a weekend!
  24. Always the best fishing with the barometer dropping, fish seem to go into a frenzy and eat whatever is available before the storm hits ?
