  1. Yeah biggest was the 63, if I didn't get the call from lady boss I could have stayed longer.......curse that encounter with a shark that has her thinking that I'll get eaten ?
  2. Yeah it was looking quite bleak for awhile there ? Had yellowtail underneath the Yak but could not get any on the sabiki, using the mirage drive as the burley dispenser worked pretty well. But no live bait meant having to re-rig the 15lb setup to a SP rig. Those rats didn't touch my 8lb rig with the white SP, would have loved to have had more of a fight like you did on your 10lb setup ? So glad we all got into the kings, makes for a good outing when we all get the drag screaming ?
  3. We off to the horizon. Sorry about running off without a word, the wife issued a be home or suffer the fist of fury notice. Should have told her I was going out into the blue and not the lake ?
  4. Hey Brad, Have you got the car and Yak yet? I got the NKL and my god the difference in loading is phenomical ? So if you are still in the market and don't want to rule out a 4x4, consider the NKL as your Yak loader. 1 problem though, it doesn't give you any room for a second Yak.
  5. Got the same one I got ? Bought mine at the same place using the fish for coupons, $50 off for buying online and 15% cheap Tuesday promo they were running. Came in at a shockingly good price ? What battery you planning to use for it? Blue Lipo?
  6. You'll get more interested peeps if you tell them what happened today ?
  7. Can't wait to get my hands on a 180. ? As for the T-load, I noticed you pushed the Yak all the way to the front. Try just getting the Yak front just on your front rack and let the rear of the Yak sit on the T-load. You'll have 3 points of tie down so don't really need the bonnet strap and you'll save some effort pushing the Yak so far forward ?
  8. Have you decided who sits where in the Yak? Looking at your Yak I'd sacrifice one of the rod holders to be the finder mount, then side mount the transducer beside it. It would probably get in the way of your paddle holders but the paddle can always be tossed inside the Yak ?
  9. Go the scupper install or over the side. In hull seems to mess around with the sonar a bit.
  10. Hook 4x and Elite 4x are the same thing just renamed and offered at a cheaper price. Transducer is mounted to the lowrance ready mount on the Hobie. Basically install and forget so you only take the finder off after use. Fiddling around with wiring before and after a session is a pain ?
  11. You have to leave that spot vacant to store the haul of hairtail you'll reel in. Imagine the look on stew's face as you paddle up to the mother ship with a load of silver hairtail glistening under the moonlit night ?
  12. 4th would be great ? Port Kembla harbour would be an awesome spot, plenty of free parking, cafe walking distance from parking lot and a calm sheltered waterway with pelagics to play with. Only 1 vessel scheduled to enter at 10am so those new to the deeper waters will have a relatively smooth fishing session.
  13. Yeah JD posted the link but I think it got lost in translation ? Campbelltown usually holds one also so keep an eye out for theirs. http://www.campbelltown.nsw.gov.au/RCC/CouncilandCouncillors/AnnualEvents/CatchaCarp
  14. How'd you go getting it onto the roof? Think you can do it solo?
  15. A shame nothing was enticed to play. Better luck at the meet ?
  16. I don't have a time machine so won't be going. ?
  17. I really should write up the tutorials to posting pics and what not. Keep meaning to but the kid distracts me all the time ?. Hopefully Donna doesn't bring out a fish whacker to get me in gear ?. As for posting pics, if from the phone just go to your gallery and copy the photo, then come back to the post and paste, no need to use the choose file option. Really would be nice if someone posts a video with 180 drive in action in waters that are not placid like the ones I have seen so far.
  18. This is the picture I want to have with my son.....unfortunately his 3 year old arms can't pull a yak yet ?
  19. Good to hear you got the Yak back, not easy fleecing a Yak nowadays so they end up being trashed. Hopefully yours came back with only a few scratches.
  20. They are one of fishraider's sponsors I believe ?
  21. Load the Yak on the night before. Makes for easier starts ?
  22. If Krause's Krazy Kayaking group becomes official do we decal our Yaks with KKK? ?
  23. None of us do.....which is why it's so fun ?
  24. If you are going to anchor in a yak you really need an anchor trolley. It allows you to move the anchor point up and down the Yak so it is not smack bang in the middle putting downward pressure which drops your water line which in turn increases your chances of capsizing. I use my anchor when I want to camp a drop off on a run out tide. Using the anchor trolley I run the anchor point to the front which allows me to face the drop or I run it to the rear if I want to sit above the drop. Either way the trolley allows you to move the anchor point away from midship which makes it less likely to flip you.
