I use mine inshore and out wide sinking lives for big dollys etc etc. or kings inclose. Good drag easy wind in. Been very happy with mine, i run 3.5kg torpedo weights on it. Have PM'ed u as well Jon
  6. Hi All Well sure seems like there is interest, Sammy not sure the name will find out tomorrow, and get some availibility. Yes Harkara is responsible for my new kit, LOL and I thank him for it, with the exception of a beautiful reef rigger fomr Saqa lost. He turn a Okuma into a Stella. Offtap, mate love to team up and hit the wreaks, been interested in learning some technique a bit more. The charter guy has been regularly putting htse guys onto 10-15kg kings on the reefs. Will aim for a Sunday day, ASAP Post again in a day or two. Jon
  7. Hi All Like many I am a bit of a fad fisher, and as Jiggin is the newest oldest one LOL I have just invested in a lovely outfit and want to learn how to play it properly. There is a charter boat that runs out of the sth that I am aware takes a group of Japanese guys ( very serious jiggers) out regularly looking at reef etc for jigging. One of the guys int he tackle shop had an invite and got some great tips. Was wondering if any persons interested in learning how to jig, there is more to the technique than ripping it up as fast as possible would like to join me on a charter. $900 for the day, they usually fish 8 on the boat so around the $120 for the day. If people r interested I will start looking at dates. JOn The dates availible r as follows. 8 on the boat is $120 for a full day. 8. Hi All We after way too much thinking time, I am going to replace my overhead jigger with a top end spin, to add some versitility to what I can do with it. I can get a Stella 10000 or 6500 Saltiga Expidtion for around the same money. Having never looked @ reels in this class, who would go what and why? Jon
  9. Hi Steve AHHH your report is pain to me, though must have been fun for u. We went Nth out to the BB fad then wide of that to the 140m mark, trolled for quite a few hrs before running in ahead of the wind. We went all 0000s for the day on the pelagics. Were did u go to get your fin?? Jon
  10. Hi All Went to the BB FAD today, there were a few small kings right on the FAD, not dollie to be seen, Rohit jiged a large leather jacket, Lance converted some lovely livies into 2 of the largest pike u will see, both off the bottom from 100m. Long way to pull it up for that disappointment, We then pulled some plastic and bibless minnow wide of the FAD, about 35km found water too 20.2 but that was the highest, might b a few more days till it gets close. Wind picked up on the way home whihc made it a bit of a bumpy ride but was nice to b out there giving it a shot, BTW there r heaps and heaps of traps within sight of the FAD this year which should make it itineresting chocies out there when the warm waters in. Hope others did better. Jon
  11. Hiya Guys We will b heading wide from Bayview thinking the FAD and wide for some tuna if our esteemed Captain is right Will b on 94 on the 27 still have not gotten to put the VHF in lOL Boat is Obession Jon

  14. Hi Giys What an awesome effort, yesterdays conditions were average, Where we u guys fishing frm, we hit Pittwater and found squid but then only talior and salom not Kings for us yet Jon
  15. LOL yeah it is hard yards. I have a buffer, and use 2 differnet foam pads, ones yellow and helps cut the otehrs black as a polisher. Few tips when using a mechanical device to buff, do it in the shade better for u the boat and the waxy ( this really is very very important) and use heaps of water this will keep the buffer cool and not burnt he wax or glass. I did mine a few mths back and it makes the boat look like new. Jon
  16. HI Bashir Small snapper leads, or an assortment, Were u interested in the VHF anteena? swap use of the molds?? It is in the gararge in the way Jon
  17. Hi Guys I have just replaced the flashing on my garage and now have some lead which my better half has said do somehting with or to the clean up it goes, Does anyone have any sinker molds? and want to swap a lend for some weights? Jon

  20. Hi Bashir Have u had the accurate serviced, I looked at these and they r very nice, what was the ball park $$ and were did u get it from? I had heard they r xxxx to service? But surpurb feel Jon I am looking for the lever drag, is a preference, the Torsa is very nice but not sure I am going to b able to streach that far. The Avet is nice, much lighter and not the tight feel the Shimano and Accurte have. Jewel or Irrr do either of u have the Avet reeel? and were did u get them from and approx $$$?? Jon Thanks Sammy the Torsa is an awesome bit of gear but right up there, the prices I saw today were over the 1k mark. Were did u see them for $800ish JOn
  21. Hi All As Harkara has mentioned I have had the pleasure of watching the lovely black and gold of my custom offit for jigging slowly sink out of reach LOL Poor Haraka, I think his is still in a corner banging his head on a wall LOL Anyway I had a Okuma TG15S, 6.2 retrieve, 1km, 50 pound fins, on a custom KR jigger, Rohit had posted pictures of his creation for me So to the question. I have approveal from the big Boss to replace the gear and my wonderful insurance company is going to help me. Yes HELP me can u believe it. So reel suggestions for a jigging overhead, will prob live bait with it too, esp for kings Dollys on the bigger size. So what else is out there that people have used and like. Reel price in the $500ish mark. JOn
  22. Hi Guys I am going from Pittwater early as well to the FAD, for a cpl of hrs and home before the wind. Will b on 96 once u guys r outside. Jon
  23. Hi Martin Love to answer the question but my wife might read it. So if she does just 2, I then like her shoes have a heap of other tackle that I have had for "ages" LOL About 20 others, fly, light, sport, game. Like u the issues is not how many I have it how many I try to bring on the boat every time I fish. Some days between Harkara and I, it can be embarassing to see tow blokes go fishing with 10 sets of gear LOL Jon
  24. Hi all I agree with Geoff, my understanding was that flushing works best when the block is hot/warm. Think about disolving salt in bioiling water or ice cold water. What we r trying to remove is baked salt in the block that has built up and the hot engine evaporates the water inside. Easies way to achive this is flush ASAP when u get out of the water. (harder to do now as many ramps have capped taps) Jon
  25. Hi Netic As above the realy really important thing is to bleed the fish. The best bet as CFD siad it pull the pectoiral fin on the side up, and with a fillet knife push in and down. The fish will pump out the blood. Then get the fish in a sea water ice slurry. The fillet and cutting technique is good, no short way to do it unless u r a butcher. and then it is about practce. Jon
