  1. Does this mean that no lights come on at all ? .... or no sound/static .... more information please (im happy to help)

    Hey Dan

What does it look like? (a photo maybe)

Microphone on left hand side, 3 slide switches on the top, 3 smallish knobs under the slide switches and one larger knob on the right hand side?

    Rod

    Hi Rod

Thanks heaps for putting in the effort along with those others who gave advice.

I live in a unit block and ran down to take photos of the radio to post and show use. When down there a neighbour who I rarely even speak too saw me and asked how i was and what i was doing in my boat. I told him and he grabed a multimeter he had inside and we found a break in the wiring under the floor.

Thanks again Rod, and if you think about it if you didnt suggest to go take some pics it wouldnt be fixed!!

    Cheers

    Dan

  2. I am sure your local Royal Volunteer Coastal Patrol would be more than happy to have a look at your radio. They are a bunch of good old retirees sitting in a radio room every day just chomping at the bit to be of some assistance. If they help you though, be sure to leave a small donation as they do struggle with operating costs.

    davo

    Hi Davo,

That sounds like a cracker idea i might have to give them a call. I dont mind leaving a donation at all.

I more then happy to pay anyone to come fix it, i just want to get it done.

Hey Rod i checked the make and it is a Uniden, couldnt find a model number unfortunately.

    cheers

  3. Hi Dan

What is it doing .... or not doing ? (and what brand/model)

We'll see if we can offer some advice.

I dont know any shops I can suggest. Labour is expensive these days ........Sometimes with the price of electronics it may not be worth doing repair. It could be an antenna or installation or user issue. (no offence)

    Rod

    Hi Rod,

Ill check the make tonight when i get home and add it to the post.

When i turn the radio dial on there is nothing happening, i checked the wiring and it seems to be all okay. When i brought the boat the guy told me the radio was working and then it just stopped.

    cheers

    How good's that......

    Cheers Warnie.........

    Hey Warnie,

Ive already played that card from the deck. We go to Wollongong evey year for another mates reunion. There is 7 of us that go to the Gong, the girls will flip if we try for Airlie each year as well.

  5. Hello raiders,

Im heading up to Airlie beach on APEC Friday for my bucks weekend and was wondering if anyone knows of any good fishing charters up there???

Im fairly confident that most time will be spent on the cans but im hoping to drop a line for a couple hours at least one of the 4 days.

    Cheers

    Dan

  6. does anyone know if the new stickers are out now for size and limits and where you can get them from?

i dont mind the new limits and sizes that much. When i go out i only want to catch the bigger fish anyway, if i get trevalley that are only 20cm i put them back already.

I do however along with most others disagree with how it was communicated.

    cheers

    Dan

  8. Hi Humesy,

was that Saturday night Sunday monring? We got to the spit about 4am and those dolphins came through. It was great watching them smashing the yakkas, a couple times they must have hit some big ones cause there were a couple big splashes directly under the bridge, was too dark to see.

were you in a boat or landbased?

    cheers

    Dan

  9. Nice one southerly , good to see the flatties on the bite

hey kiwi dan , i also fish MH yesterday with D&G same story , seems a bit quiet at the moment, shouldnt be to long before things start warming up though,,,,well that what i keep telling myself anyway :1prop:

    Hi kingsrule,

yeah the boys said they caught up with you Saturday. Apparently another guy got 5 kings just up from where use were moored on Saturday about an hour after use left.

    hi Southerly,

yeah mate there were 5 boats there at one stage, couldnt beleive i didnt even pull in a throw back.

    BRING ON THE KINGS!!

  10. mate some people do eat eels, check out the fishing section for Petes tomato sauce eel.

Pretty sure its a squid you got there, maybe some of its tentacles were eaten already. You can cook it but i would freeze it and re use for bait. If you got a few of them cook it up for sure, but 1 wouldnt go far.

    cheers

    Dan

  11. Seems there are port jackson everywhere these days. Caught this huge port jackson early this month near bondi. Went up to 1.35m weighted more than 30kg. I was thinking to put on to catch of the month but didn't have a proper photo. I only have mobile phone picture for it. Putting a lot of efforts to land it on a rock platform. rarely see port jackson this big.

    mate thats a thumper.

    cheers
