  3. awesome titles listed there and i agree ron calcutt was awesome, my favourite would have to be "river to sea" where ron and his son fishes from the upper reaches of the Clyde down to Tollgates.
  4. thanks for the heads up fellas, i was originally going to do a bareboat charter in the whitsundays but after a few enquiries was told that january isnt the best time of year wind/weather wise and also a lot of stingers around at that time so swimming/snorkelling might be affected hence why i am now looking at alternatives. Looks like i'll have to look at norfolk closely now....feel free to pm me any info, is january a good time to be up there?? thanks cheers tom

  11. hi mike, i have the 2500sol matched up to a starlo 7" raider rod 2-4kg...awesome outfit, under $500 (mind you ive had it nearly 2 years now) and also matching colour. cheers tom
  12. i have a 530 f/sport with 115hp yammie and take it offshore regularly (of course weather dependant). for me having 2 kids, the bowrider works well but when going offshore, i only got 3up at the most and also always leave the front end covered thus reducing the amount of water that comes in thru the bow. I have taken the boat to the shelf a few times off batemans bay and bermi. hope this helps. cheers tom

  14. great selection of lures there. my most successful cod lure would have to be the Boomerang (by predatek??)..the bigger the better, great action and dives deep. worth a thought maybe?? cheers and good luck. tom
  15. gday Luke we had a go on sunday, beaut weather but not much fish. Picked up a couple of pannies and mowies around south durras in 20m. Current really strong by 10 so went out wide for a bit of a troll, best water temp we got was 17.3. wind picked up around 12ish so came back in. better luck next time. cheers tom
  16. hi Roberta, sounds like a bargain, were they at o'briens?? btw, great thread that tuross adventure of yours, didnt realise Starlo lived in Tuross, always thought he was based at gerringong. The man is a legend (to me anyways), cant wait to see him at the tackle show this week end =) cheers tom
  17. hi Dat111, what did you need to know about them? i have the 530 f/s with 115 yammie I use mine fishing in lakes/estuaries/inshore and also been to the shelf a few times. I might be a bit biased here but great boat and very versatile specially if you have to share it with wifey & kids cheers tom
